Work Text:
“it’s what you wanted right”
those five words said in such a condescending tone, leave enough of an impression for shivers so go down the spines of those present.
those words, so taunting, are spoken in truth, it is what he had wanted. Katsuki Bakugou had wanted Izuku Midoriya deku, deku, deku to stop pursing the path of a hero, and he had.
There is no response to this question. Nothing you can say to change the meaning behind it. Izuku did exactly as he was told by everyone around him. He gave up.
You can beg for forgiveness, you can plead guilty, you can suffer the consequences but that will never take away the pain of the victim. Izuku will feel the pain of his childhood forever, they don’t deserve forgiveness, he deserves acceptance.
Izuku had taken his heart, filled to the brim with ice and shattered it along with his morals. Why be a hero when they want to erase your existence, why not be a villain when they are fighting for the things you believe in. Those are the questions that changed his mind.
His whole life Izuku was teetering on the line between what’s considered good and what’s considered bad, it was only when he was wronged for the last time that he realized, this worlds version of good, is not.
He doesn’t care about how his decisions might affect those around him, Izuku’s done being selfless. Every word spoken, action completed, and event planned are focused around what will benefit himself, not others, himself.
Sometimes people will try to change him. They try real hard but always they will fail. Pretty words cease to work when you can pick out all the ugly in them.
“What happened to the Izuku i knew?”
and Isn’t that statement hilarious? The Izuku they knew was weak, the Izuku they knew didn’t fight back, the Izuku they knew was compliant and broken. The fact that they want that shell of a person back speaks in of itself.
They didn’t know that Izuku nor do they know this one. All they do is continually make bigoted assumptions based on his quirk status, and take it from there.
They do not know that Izuku can use pretty words as well.
“They hurt me i’m sorry! they kidnapped me and told me they where going to hurt my mom. I had to do what they told me, I never wanted this, I never wanted any of this. Please help me Kacchan.”
The faces of those around him bleed into understanding and sorrow like his statement makes complete sense. They don’t understand at all, they don’t understand a thing. Those ruby red eyes directly across from him, remain clueless.
“is that you wanted me to say?”
Izuku revel’s in the way their faces drop.
“You wanted me to drop to my knees and beg for forgiveness, say that i was forced and that the Izuku you knew was still in there”
Izuku smirks walking closer to his childhood bully. Nobody moves to stop him, they think Bakugou can handle himself, because they don’t know just how deeply their connection runs. That was their second mistake. The first was allowing him to be a hero at all.
“You want to know what happened to the Izuku you knew huh?“
Bakugou’s breath hitches, a sign of weakness, rare to see coming from the number one heroes pet.
“We’ll Kacchan, he’s dead.”
he takes another step forward.
“you killed him.”
Izuku smirks, knife glinting just out of sight.
“you told him to jump off a roof.”
So lost in the words of accusation nobody notices the knife until it’s too late. Until a sharp point of metal is sliding across the heroes neck, until Bakugou Katsuki was as good as dead.
“And now you can join him, Kacchan”
