Work Text:
A person on their sports bike pulls into a gas station, and gets off after killing the engine. They don’t bother taking off their helmet because they pulled in to do one thing.
The sound of their footsteps echo throughout the immediate area as they make their way to the windshield cleaning station. They reach over and grab the handle of the wiper, shaking the rod to get rid of the excess soapy water. They sigh before holding it up to their visor. As soon as the sponge hits the surface of the helmet, the person rigorously moves the rod up and down, their head turning side to side.
There was a rather nasty splatter of beetle guts on the right side, and it took quite a bit of elbow grease to wipe off the remaining mess. As the biker finishes up, they hear another car pulling up beside them. They quickly glance over to see a luxurious vehicle parked at the opposite pump. Someone got out, but the biker wasn’t able to see through the suds on the visor.
“Having trouble!?” A (rather snobby) voice called out.
The man snickered to himself as he continued to watch the biker wipe off their helmet with a napkin.
It was clear to the biker who the man was as soon as he cried out to them, but decided to pay no mind. Regardless, they turn their head to look at the passenger inside the car. The man was none other than Koito Otonoshin. Born into a wealthy and prestigious family from the Kagoshima area (formerly known as the Satsuma Province), and was educated in the finest schools and by the finest teachers. His participation in after-school clubs had many people admiring him. It was fortunate for the biker that they didn’t have to witness it then, but unfortunately they have to deal with the person now. After all, the young Koito was their superior.
The biker just nodded their head and went back to minding their business. They decided to fill up their tank since they were already at the station.
“You have a really nice bike!” Koito exclaimed.
Again, the biker turns around and just nods in acknowledgement. They start the process of filling up their gas tank.
“What do you do for a living? The bike seems to be very expensive, and nothing like the models I’ve seen. Is it custom made?”
The biker has no time to respond back as the young executive continues his rambling.
“Perhaps you can give me some advice? I know this girl who’s interested in bikes, and maybe I can relay it back to her?”
The biker tilts their head and chuckles to themselves.
“A girl?” The biker crosses their arms and takes a quick glance back at the fuel machine, then looks back at the man in the car. Koito visibly sighs and looks up, smiling to himself.
“Well, first off, she’s definitely very different from the average Japanese woman. You see. She’s half Russian. I feel a bit embarrassed to say she’s taller than me…but only by a few centimeters!!” Koito springs up, his back going straight as he aggressively stares at the biker before him.
“That’s…very interesting.” The biker says as they nod their head.
“Yeah. She’s a little bit scary. Incredibly hard working! Stays calm, even in the most chaotic situations.”
The biker continues to nod as they place the pump back in its spot.
“She’s just an overall super charming woman in a silent way. The way she gazes at you through her bangs, it reminds me of a tiger stalking its prey.” Koito chuckles as he says this.
“Surely,” the biker walks around their bike to approach the passenger, “that kind of thing would scare you off.”
Koito is a little put off as the biker walks towards him. A tall and muscular man (in his eyes) dressed in a full leather suit usually meant trouble. He glances down at his own attire. A pristine white suit with gold colored accents, finished off with his family brooch pinned tightly on his lapel. He swallows and awkwardly looks back at the biker after promptly covering up his family’s insignia.
“Y-Yeah, a little bit. What are you doing?” He shrinks back in the car, wishing his driver would return quickly and save him from the mysterious figure.
“Just getting a better look.” The biker states nonchalantly as they bend over, folding their arms over the car’s window sill.
“Hey-Hey! Get off my car! You’re going to dirty it!” Koito’s shrill voice cried out. He didn’t even have time to react as the biker reached in and pulled his tie towards them. He screamed out once again, then grabbed the biker’s wrist as tight as he could.
“Get off of me!” Koito grunts. “Tsukishimaaa!!!”
“Calling the Sergeant is useless.” And the biker pulls his tie a little closer to them. Koito is caught off guard.
“What?? How did..” He stops talking as the biker takes their other hand to lift the helmet’s visor to expose only their eyes. He could recognize that mysterious gaze and the facial scar anywhere.
“Kubo!?” Koito lets go of her arm in utter shock and disbelief. Kubo only chuckles. She lets go of his tie and takes a step back as her superior stumbles out of the car.
“Kubo!! Why did you do that!?” She shrugs and closes her eyes as she smiles.
“I just wanted to play around a little.”
“What’s going on?” Another man’s voice comes from behind them. They turn around to see their other colleague, Tsukishima Hajime. A serious and diligent worker. His loyalty to the big boss was something that couldn’t be matched by the other workers.
“Nothing to see here, Tsukishima.” Koito cleared his throat.
“It doesn't matter. I saw everything already.” Tsukishima replies back, just shaking his head. Koito was about to make a big deal, but spotted the small pile of snacks in Tsukishima's hands, and quickly snatched it from him.
“Ooooh! Thanks a lot Tsukishima!” The young superior gushes as he looks through the different kinds of snacks he got. He turns back to Kubo, who was just staring blankly back at him. Her amber eyes seemed to pierce right through him.
“I’ll see you at headquarters, Kubo.”
“Yes, Sir. Have a safe trip, Sir.” She flips the visor back down and gives an assertive nod to Tsukishima. Tsukishima nods back, and he and Koito watch as Kubo fires up her bike. She gives it a couple revs before speeding off.
“I have to get a bike,” Koito sighs.
