Midorikawa was back once again in the orphanage since leaving the national team. In the couple of weeks that has passed since then only one thing was on his minds, besides training.
-Hey Mido, are you okay?-asked Saginuma Osamu, former captain of Epsilon, his ex-superior and now his big brother figure. The midfielder turned to him.
-Huh? Oh yeah, I’m fine, why do you ask?
-Today you’re not focused, did something happen?-Osamu was getting worried about the greenette. Midorikawa smiled at him, trying to reassure him.
-Are you sure? You know you can tell me anything-Midorikawa wnated to tell him, but first he had to talk to someone else.
-I’m sure, thank you Osamu.-Hitomiko, whow was supervising their training, approached them.
-Alright, Saginuma, Midorikawa, that’s enough for today, now get back to the orphanage and take a shower, we’ll continue tomorrow- once Hitomiko said that, the younger boy practically rushed out the field, leaving a surprised Osamu and Hitomiko behind.
The green-haired boy entered the building that was his home, Ohisama En, and started looking for a specific person. The former captain of Gemini Storm found one of his ex-teammates and best friend, Miura Hiromu, formerly known as Diam.
-Hey Hiromu, have you seen Nozomi-chan?-Miura was surprised for a moment, before cracking a small smile.
-Yeah, she’s in her room with Nanakaze.
-Thank you, Hiromu- Midorikawa patted him on his shoulder before running towards said room.
-Captain, good luck- Midorikawa was shocked to see his friend’s smirk, but quickly he shook his head before continuing his way. When he reached his destination, he took a deep breath, trying to keep his nerves at bay. Then, he knocked on the door.
-Who is it?
-It’s me
-Come in-Nozomi Kinki, formely known as Pandora, said after recognising the voice, and the door opening, revealing her ex-captain. Nozomi’s face brightened upon seeing the green-haired boy.
-Hi- said Midorikawa shyly, with his cheeks slightly red. Nanakaze, previously Rihm, clapped her hands and stoop up from her bed.
-Well, I’m going to look for Miura-kun, see if he has ideas for a new hissatsu or something- Nanakaze grabbed the door handle and turned around to wink at Nozomi, who turned red. The pink-haired girl giggled and left the room.
-Well, we’re alone-Midorikawa pointed out nervously.
-Yeah, can I help you with something, captain?- Midorikawa’s gaze turned to the ground while he rubbe dhis hands, willing himself to calm down.
-You don’t have to call me that.
-Well, Hitomiko told us before that she was thinking about getting the teams back together once Hiroto is back.- The purple-haired explained to Midorikawa, who was quite surprised to hear those words.
-Really?
-Yeah, this time under no dark influence, only our real tealents.- Nozomi smiled, re
ally excited about the idea.
-Oh I didn’t know- Midorikaw was wondering why Hitomikdo didn’t tell him any of this during the training.
-Hitomiko wanted it to be a surprise for the captains, although she said that if you didn’t want to be the captain, then you don’t have to.- Nozomi was a little scared that he would refuse.
-Oh no, if it’s fine with you all, I’ll be honored to be your captain again.- Nozomi exhaled a breath, relieved.
-Oh we already talked about it while you were training, and none of us want another captain, you’re the only one who can lead us- Midorikawa’s eyes became teary after hearing those words, he really was grateful for his team, and he promised right there and then that he would do his best to be the best captain he could be.
-I will work hard to be the best captain, I promise- Nozomi smiled, she was really glad the she would once again play side by side with her captain.
-We will all do our best, you’ll be proud of us, captain.
-I have no doubt about that. Nozomi, I, I wanted to talk with you about something.
-What is it? Please take a seat-Nozomi patted on her bed, and Midorikawa, after taking a deep breath, sat down beside her.
-Nozomi, there’s something I’ve wanted to tell you for a long time-Midorikawa rubbed the back of his head.

-We are friends, always have been, but...-Midorikawa couldn’t finish because he got cut off by Nozomi’s lips on his. The green-haired biy was schocked, but once he recovered, he placed his hand on the girl’s back of the head and closed his eyes, losing himself in the kiss.When air was necessity, they separeted, smiling lovingly at each other.
-Yeah, this is what I wanted to tell you- Midorikawa laughed cutely.
-Well, you know, there’s a saying that goes like this “actions speak louder than words” Nozomi giggled as she used a saying, just like her captain.
-I knew I liked you for a reason- he joked and Nozomi patted on his chest
-Idiot-she laughed before placing her head on his shoulder, and Midorikawa wrapped an arm around her shoulders, closing his eyes and sighing, happy that his feelings were reciprocated.
