Fantasy

Summary:

Juvia has her own fantasies and imagination, and it's up to Gray to make it a reality.

Notes:

Hi, I apologize for the short work but I just really want to share this prompt during Gruvia week 2022. I wanted to write it longer, it SHOULD be longer but I didn't have enough time to write it although I have the ideas for the short story in my mind. Please bear with me. ILYALL.

Work Text:

The guild members won't question it, they aren't even confused, curious, maybe, but the for years now, the two have been hanging out a lot, if not always.

"Gray-sama, Juvia thought of a great house decoration!" She beamed, walking beside him around town.

"Oh? And what is it?" he asked nonchalantly. He was never one to be too expressive.

"A figurine of Gray-sama will be nice! Juvia loves to see Gray-sama in all corners of the house!" The bluenette giggled and hooked her arm with his.

A palm went to his face, wiping an invisible sweat as he sighs and says, "Ugh, Juvia, not gonna happen."

Of course, they still live in the same house, eat at the same time, and go on to the same job if they aren't needed in their respective teams.

"Hey...Gray-sama?" Juvia voiced, one time they were eating their dinner after a job.

He looked up, one brow arched, a spoon hanging in the air. "Hm?"

"Do you know how to cook?"

"What kind of question is that?"

"It's just that... Juvia wants to eat Gray-sama's cooking!" she smiled sweetly, eyes sparkling as she imagined. "It will be so sweet and romantic Gray-sama!"

"I don't usually cook." He answered and continued eating,

The bluenette was pouting when Gray arrived at the guild. Curious, he walked to her and sat beside her, ordering an orange juice from Mira.

He looked at her sideways, it seemed that she was annoyed. She glared at the bun in front of her as if it was the culprit.

"What did the bun ever did to you?" he asks right after receiving his juice.

He didn't get any response.

"Juvia.." He nudged her, "Juvia?"

"Huh?" She looked at him, "Oh!" and took a deep breath, "Gray-sama!"

what... What was that?

He didn't just imagine it, she HAD to take a deep breath before greeting him happily.

"She had bad dreams." Mira whispered.

Juvia pouted at Mira's revelation of her mood. "Juvia is just sad!"

The word sad made him curious. "... and why is that? It's just a dream." he says.

"But Gray-sama was in my dream!"

"And I thought that with me, you should be happy?" he asked, stating the obvious, as far as he knows.

"I'm sad because Gray-sama left the house, again, with not a word to Juvia nor a letter." she says, now standing up beside his bar stool and hooked her arm with his, leaning her head into his shoulder. "Gray-sama won't do it again right? Gray-sama will tell Juvia his plans right? Gray-sama will tell Juvia?"

At that moment, he felt so wrong, guilt written on his face as what he did in the past reminded him of how he became selfish with no regards on how she would react or be affected.

He faced her, gathering her between his thighs and enveloping her in his embrace.

“Gray-sama?”

“I- I am an idiot.” he says under his breath.

“No! Gray-sama isn’t an idiot!”

“No, I am. I made you worry, I may have even traumatized you with what I did,and I am an idiot. I have not expressed myself to you, I am not– I am not good with this Juvia—”

“No, Please don’t say tha—”

“Please let me finish Juvia.” He pleaded, looking into her eyes and around the guild, they had attracted their attention, which made the blood in his body color his cheeks red. “I am selfish, Juvia.” he says, ignoring the people watching them, even Natsu, who usually plays around and teases him, went quiet. “This is not the most romantic place, heck, this isn’t even what I think how you imagined would happen, I haven’t even planned it here, I did not even prepare anything today but Juvia, can I be selfish of you?” He asks, placing his forehead unto her, waiting for an answer.

To say that he’s embarrassed to be confessing in front of the guild members is an understatement, if possible, he wanted to be alone with her, with flowers and lights that would melt her heart, but seeing her pout and sad, ah, I have it bad.

“Juvia—?” his lips were met with hers.

“All of my being is yours. I will always be yours.”

A roar of cheers followed, tears fell down her eyes as she whispered those words, speaking in first pov.
