Chapter Text
4:45 a.m
Skeppy was watching a series on his computer despite the fact that his eyes demanded a break, it had been a hard day and everything in him cried out for some sleep, however the boy with pieces of diamond on his skin was not planning to do it, at least not for now.
He knew that in the moment he closed his eyes he was going to enter his personal hell, because for a long time he has had strange nightmares with different possible meanings, he was tired of trying to find them so he had simply gotten used to sleeping poorly, he knew that every morning he would wake up abruptly breathing heavily from one of those nightmares, get up to get some water and just stare at their phone until the sun come up.
Eventually he couldn't take it anymore, exhaustion overcame him, leaving him completely defeated in his bed.
The dream began, he didn't understand where he was, it was a place full of vegetation and lighting, but strangely everything was red, the light came from some lava puddles "What the hell is this place?" The dark-haired man wondered confused while he investigated the place a little, he could see that at the back of the room there was a red thing, really big, with a strange egg-shaped appearance, while the guy got closer he could hear some voices that he didn't understood, but somehow he felt truly intrigued by them, when he was finally in front of that big red egg, a strange glow of the same color passed through his eyes, somehow he lost control over his body and his hands were placed on the object , a kind of red moss began to slowly cover his hands and began to expand on him, terror invaded him inside but his body did not move or fight to let go, little by little that moss covered him completely.
"NO! SKEPPY!" He heard a voice screaming out of the moss, that voice sounded oddly familiar, though he hadn't really heard it before. Who was he? "OH MY GOODNESS! SKEPPY! GET OUT OF HERE!!" The owner of the voice sounded concerned about the situation and seemed to know him, that undoubtedly disconcerted him, however, the dark-haired man was now unable to move to find out who it was, not because his body did not react, but because the moss prevented it, he used to pull and move away, but it was already impossible for him.
Soon he felt something or someone close to him, trying to pull him and somehow breaking the moss, giving him his freedom again. When he was finally free from his prison the dark-haired man fell to the ground sitting down.
He didn't understood what just happened.
Looking up, he observed in blurred way a dark figure looking at him, his eyes shone in an impeccable white color, despite the fact that it was difficult to differentiate his figure under the hat of the sweatshirt he wore, also something that caught his attention was a bright halo over his head, Skeppy looked at him confused, the creature took off his hat, revealing a kind of demon, his skin and hair were black, his eyes shone and without a doubt he could see great concern in his look.
"Skeppy, it's me, Bad! Are you okay?" Skeppy just kept looking at him with confusion, it was the first time he saw him in his life, but somehow he felt that they had known each other for years "I have to get you out of here" said the creature and then looked around and picked him up in his two arms, Skeppy felt so confused and tired, the fight against that moss had taken all his energy, so he didn't have the chance to ask about what was happening.
From one moment to another he found himself in a wooden cabin lying on a bed looking around he could see that the demon was sitting on the side of the bed, when he felt Skeppy's gaze he reacted immediately and looked at him, immediately hugged him lovingly "Skeppy! You're awake!" Had he fallen asleep in his dream? "I was so worried! How are you feeling? Are you okay?" Said the creature taking him by the cheeks staring at him, Skeppy let out a small smile unintentionally "I'm alright bad, sorry for worrying you" he answered, the demon smiled when he heard it "Holly muffin Skeppy, do not do that again, you know how dangerous it is!" The demon hugged him again without waiting for any kind of response from the diamond boy.
"Okay, I won't, I'm sorry"
11:11 a.m
Skeppy woke up with a pleasant and warm feeling, it was the first time in years that he woke up feeling like this, he looked at the time on his phone and was surprised, he had managed to sleep more than 3 hours and it was all thanks to the appearance of that demon in his dream, It confused him a little that despite being a demon he was such a kind being, but perhaps his subconscious wanted to make him understand that he needed some warmth in his life.
There was nothing in the world that could take away that happiness that his dream had given him, not the long line at his friend Puffy's restaurant, nor Tommy's joking comments when he finally saw him out of his "cave".
That whole week went like that, Skeppy started with some nightmare but out of nowhere that demon appeared to calm everything down and give the diamond boy a good time, despite all those good dreams, he was still afraid that one day he just wouldn't show up (which was bad enough on its own) and that the nightmares return, that was the reason why he kept putting off bedtime, however it was much less now.
2:56 a.m
Skeppy looked around, surprisingly it was an open place this time, although, it wasn't a better place than the previous ones, since he was on the edge of a cliff, looking down he immediately took several steps back and fell on the rocky ground for the impact, his breathing was shaken, just a small movement would have been enough for him to fall from such a height, while the boy tried to calm down someone touched his shoulder, Skeppy turned immediately still quite scared by what had just happened.
"Skeppy, are you okay? What happened?" Skeppy's eyes looked at who was now in front of him, it was again the creature of his previous dreams "why are you so scared?" He spoke again, Skeppy could only turn to see the cliff for a moment and then he turned his gaze to the demon "Are you afraid of heights? I'm sorry, I didn't know" the creature helped him get up and get away from that area, Skeppy's body was still trembling, many times before he had already dreamed of big falls which had not ended well, maybe that was the reason for his fear. The creature took him to a grassy area that had a small blanket and a basket to which a tree provided shade, it seemed that it had been prepared before, after the diamond boy sat down the demon sat on the other side of the blanket and began to take some muffins out of the basket.
The atmosphere quickly calmed down, both were silent, but it was a comfortable silence, the wind was blowing hard enough that some tree leaves fell from it, it was nice, Skeppy took a deep breath and smiled, he didn't know who the being that was now usual on his dreams was, but he was grateful that he was there for him.
