Work Text:

It had been Kazunari's grand idea to eat out at a lavish restaurant. There was no special occasion, Kazunari just wanted to spoil his partner – and to see him in posh attire. He wanted it to be as though they were a well-renowned famous couple built by the corrupt world of the music industry. You’d take a glance at them and think they’re wealthy and live in a ginormous mansion, but in actuality they’re just college students trying their best. It’s a laughable situation. Tsuzuru wasn’t complaining though, he absolutely adores spending time with Kazunari, if the pastime isn’t something that could get of them injured or put in serious trouble.

“Tsuzurun! We dip in T-minus 30 minutes! I expect to see you in clothes that will make my eyes pop out of their sockets!” The blond yelled from across the hall. Ah, right. He probably should get ready. But what should he wear? Tsuzuru knows it’s a fancy restaurant, but should he wear a suit? He could pull off a formal look that lacks traditional attire, but he wasn’t sure. In the midst of his dilemma, he settled on a red overcoat with black sleeves with a mahogany shirt underneath, accompanied by red trousers. He wore a necklace and a chain on the belt loop. He decided not to do anything with his hair; he really didn’t want to bother. He glanced at the mirror, then at the clock. Five minutes until they have to depart. He looked at the mirror once more, just to make sure nothing is wrong. He concluded that his fit for the date was in-fact, very fancy. And off he went to meet Kazunari.

Upon finding his boyfriend, he couldn’t help but be smitten with him the second they locked eyes. Of course Kazunari went all out. He heavily layered his clothing; he even styled his hair. He wore a white undershirt, a yellow vest with one side having a streak of grey, a sleeveless coat made out of tulle that nearly touched the ground, and a black/yellow plaid coat. To top it off, he wore a yellow bow. He already wore this for his birthday bromide shoot – back then, Tsuzuru thought he was the most gorgeous being in the world. Now, he still thinks the same thing. Emerald eyes met turquoise, Tsuzuru felt his heart jump out of his chest. Oh no, he’s falling in love with again. If he doesn’t look away now, he’s going to vomit butterflies and everyone in close proximity would give them concerned stares.

But he couldn’t stop staring. He was just – in shock. How can one person be so beautiful? Kazunari quite literally shone brighter than the sun. Even brighter than Sirius – just a huge ball of good vibes and... Ugh. How did he manage to get so lucky? He asks himself this every day, never being able to find an answer no matter how long he ponders. No matter the reason, Tsuzuru knew he was the luckiest boy ever.

“You keep staring, Tsuzurun~ did you fall in love again?”

That was exactly it. The brunette shook his head and sighed, stepping towards the blond and pulled him into the most passionate kiss he could muster up. Kazunari was shocked, but he wasted no time melting into the kiss. Electricity was running through their veins as they slowly began to forget their surroundings. It was just them, Kazunari and Tsuzuru. Nobody else. Tsuzuru pulled the other impossibly closer, relishing in everything about him. The small noises Kazunari would make were so, so adorable. He wanted to hear more of him. They’ve known each other for so long but Tsuzuru yearns to learn more about Kazunari. Ahh, he felt dizzy – he needed oxygen so bad. Before he could do anything about it, Kazunari pulled him away, clearly flustered.

“Woah! What's gotten into you??” he queried. Tsuzuru looked off to the side, confused by his own actions as well. “I just... I really, really love you. You’re the best thing that’s ever happened to me, you know? You’re so amazing and I don’t know what I would do without you. You make me so happy and I-” Kazunari cut Tsuzuru off with a hug, messing up his hair slightly in the process. “You are so cute!! I love you so much. You’re my entire world. My little ball of sunshine! My adorable manly boy who I am oh so proud of! You’re such a little scrunkly. I love you!!!” He cooed his affections while ruffling his hair and Tsuzuru felt like he could die happily.

They stood there in silence for about thirty seconds until Kazu shot up. “Ah! Our date!! We have to bounce! C’mon!!!” He gripped his arm and ran out the dorms, saying his farewells to everyone in the dorms. “Why’d you have to be all lovey-dovey now, Tsuzurun?! Ahh, we’re gonna be late!” Kazunari stressed. A pile of guilt built up in Tsuzuru’s stomach. He mumbled an apology. Hopefully he didn’t ruin the date... Kazunari reassured him that it was okay.

After running for their lives for 7 and a half minutes, they finally made it. Tsuzuru’s face widened and his neck snapped to face Kazunari. “We’re eating HERE? It’s too expensive!”

“I meant it when I said I wanted to spoil you! Please let me do this for you!” Tsuzuru’s jaw dropped as he looked at the restaurant, then back at Kazunari, then back at the restaurant, then back at Kazunari-

“Tsuzurun, stop! I fear your head falling off! Please don’t worry about how much it’ll cost! I love you and I really want to do this for you! Besides, the food here is SO GOOD. It’s worth the price!” The taller male ceded, allowing him to do this just this once. “We shouldn’t be here arguing! If we don’t hurry, then we might not be able to eat in there!” Kazunari immediately zipped inside the establishment in hopes of actually being able to dine there with his beloved. Tsuzuru soon followed after.

When he entered, the first thing he heard was an obnoxiously loud trill. “WHAT DO YOU MEAN ITS BOOKED? NOOO!” Kazunari cried and punched the ground. “This is the worst news ever! Horrible! Outrageous! I’m so distraught! Woe is me!!” He was being dramatic. Tsuzuru turned to the obviously uncomfortable waitress, “Uhm... how long do you think it’ll take until we’re able to eat here?”

“There are reservations, and during this time so many people come here so... three hours, give or take...?” The news didn’t make their situation any better. Kazunari got off his knees and looked at Tsuzuru with a pout and puppy-dog eyes. “Now I feel horrible! I was really looking forward to this! THIS SUCKS! UGH!” He exclaimed. He sat down on a waiting bench with his arms crossed, Tsuzuru sat next to him. He hated seeing Kazunari so upset... even if most of his outburst was just an act. “We can always come here another time,” Tsuzuru suggested. “There are plenty of chances for us to do lots of things together.”

Kazunari smiled ever-so-slightly, resting his head on Tsuzuru’s shoulder. “Mm... there’s so much I want to do with you, Tsuzurun.”

“We have enough time to do everything you want to do together. We’re both going to be here for a long, long time...” He nodded. “Yeah, you’re right. But man, we dressed up cute for practically no reason! It would’ve been better to just stay in the dorms and snuggle in bed.”

“You have no idea of how appealing that sounds to me. I would love to do that.”

As though they were both in sync, their stomachs rumbled at the same time. They stared at each other dumb-founded. “Man, I’m hungry.” Kazunari stated the obvious. Tsuzuru couldn’t help but laugh. “Y’know... there’s a fast-food across from here. It’ll put something in our systems, and it’s a lot cheaper.” Kazunari lightly punched Tsuzuru. “You’re just saying that because you don’t want me to spend lots of money on you! Jokes on you, I have an entire list of items I want to buy for you and most of them are expensive gifts! I know what I'll be doing tonight. Shopping spree for you!”

“Augh, don’t do that! Please! It’s okay!” He insisted. Tsuzuru has always been horrible about receiving gifts, especially from loved ones (ESPECIALLY from Kazunari). “Please don’t pressure me into accepting gifts from you. It’s not right!”

“Oh, I’ll force you all I want! You’re my boyfriend, and I wanna spoil you!”

Tsuzuru’s face turned deep crimson when he heard ‘my boyfriend’ come out of Kazunari’s mouth. He Looked away for the nth time. ‘Ah, that’s right. We are dating.’ Of course, he didn’t forget that it’s just – it feels different when Kazunari calls him that. It makes his heart burst out of his chest and he wants to jump up and do multiple backflips until he ends up breaking his ankle.

“Awe, how come you’re getting all bashful now? I just can’t get enough of you! Stop being so cute!” Kazunari whined.

“Sorry,” he apologized for no reason.

“See, there you go again! C’mere, you!” He pecked Tsuzuru’s cheek before standing up.

“We’re dressed in very nice clothing. I think the most reasonable thing to do is go to a fast-food in our sweet outfits! Let the public bask in our beauty!” He finally accepted Tsuzuru’s idea. He nodded his head and stood up. Kazunari extended his hand for Tsuzuru to hold, and the latter happily accepted. Their fingers intertwined and Tsuzuru felt himself blushing once more. “I love you,” he blurted. Kazunari reciprocated the same words.

“Time for cheap fast food! WHOOP WHOOP!!” Kazunari cheered.
