Chapter Text
The sound of keys being pressed at high speed was the only thing that could be heard in that room of which the only light came from a large screen that took up a good part of that wall, little efficiency but for him it was better aesthetics.
It was just another day of work, simple routine really, another day looking for a better power source to keep his space base aloft without having to resort to a ridiculous amount of fuel, he had even developed a fuel cost effective enough it still wasn’t the best option, and honestly his patience was starting to wear thin.
“Agh!” He hit the keyboard hard, somehow it didn’t break and was still perfectly functional, most likely the result of good materials and the memory of that hedgehog made it all shock resistant unconsciously . “this is so annoying…”

A red light appeared on the screen followed by various windows showing coordinates and readings that in a moment took the whole screen.
“Well well well… What do we have here?” it seems the answer to all their problems had appeared.

How did this just end up the same?
That’s the only question that crossed his mind, no matter how many times he tried he always ended up the same, beaten, crying and with his inventions broken.
And for some stupid reason he was still trying, maybe he was determined to make it, maybe he was just stubborn.
Maybe it was a good thing he didn’t create anything this time, what he was carrying was a gem with very interesting properties that he discovered by accident, the bad thing is that he ran into those two when he was on his way home.
“hey don’t ignore me!” a tug on one of his tails brought him back to the present, he had forgotten in the current situation.
“you know it doesn’t matter” The thug grabbed the gem that had fallen to the ground when he was attacked, Miles wanted to stop him but he was being held down by another thug twice his size. “hmmm… this looks expensive, we could get some good money with this.”
“That’s mine, I found it-¡Agh!” A direct punch to the stomach stopped all opposition, reasoning with them was pointless, resisting was pointless , they were stronger.
“Correction, THAT is MINE and I’m going to take it now.” They all looked in the direction of the sound, there was a man floating a few feet away from them, he was baste tall despite sitting on some sort of floating machine and he didn’t look happy at all.
“Make me Old fool” said the thug who had the gem before running off along with his friends, he was just thrown there, the mystery man didn’t look impressed at all, indeed he looked bored. “You seriously don’t have anything in that head of yours?”
The man calmly pressed a button on his vehicle and at first nothing happened, Miles wondered what he was doing when suddenly the forest went dark, the ground trembled and there was a strange metallic sound that started
The man calmly pressed a button on his vehicle and at first nothing happened, Milles wondered what he was doing when suddenly the forest went dark, the ground shook and there was a strange metallic sound that started ringing everywhere. “Find them and capture them alive!” The man looked in their direction and continued speaking, “leave him, I need to ask him a few questions”.
As he said those words, red lights blinked showing the origin of those sounds, he could only contemplate in silence that terrifying image.
“What are you waiting for an invitation?!, come on! I don’t have all day!” That man moved his arms with will go hitting his vehicle which seemed to scare what those machines which moved quickly in the forest.

He looked at the screen as he pondered, the coordinates indicated he was on this island, convenient, little ground to search, surely it wouldn’t take too long, he approached the area that might have that mysterious energy source, oh the infinite possibilities-.
“!That’s mine, I found it-¡” a shout caught his attention, apparently there were people on this island, fantastic, more test subjects, he just had a project that needed together subjects bigger than a common rabbit.
He went in the direction of the sound, and then he saw it, it was a gem the size of his palm, yellow in color, the computer beeped confirming his suspicions.
It seems that today was his lucky day.
