Chapter Text
Cale is a famously known trash in Count Henituse's territory because he is the eldest son of the Count himself. Stripped of the successor position and a drunkard that causes trouble anywhere he goes. He is hated. A cruel and chaotic boy. A good for nothing.
But the Henituse family and their servants beg to differ. Count Deruth was well aware of how kind his son is and the reason why he turned out like this, alas, he can only blame himself for neglecting Cale and letting his officials destroy the bright boy that never stopped smiling until his mother died and until he brought in a new wife and a stepbrother.
The only thing he can do was give Cale a home, provide for him and care for him, he planned on redeeming himself as his father.
Violan doesn’t have any hard feelings towards Cale, it was the opposite actually. The boy congratulated her and Deruth’s wedding and was respectful to her. He calls her stepmother to not forget his late mother which she doesn’t mind at all. Knowing that the child accepted her as part of his family was enough.
While the young Basen looked up to and admired his Hyung who chased away the nobles who mocked him for being the stepson of Count Henituse. Cale started acting trash for the sake of Basen and Violan because as long as he is in a favorable situation, the stepfamily will only be viewed as a homewrecker. What he really liked the most about him though was how Cale never failed to accompany him in his lessons even though the redhead will just be sleeping and obviously didn’t want to be there.
Lily, as well-loved the way Cale would sometimes accompany her in watching the knights' training. Unlike other people, he didn’t show any sort of opposition to her dream of becoming a knight. He even promised to gift her a sword when she turns 9 years old, which means she has 2 years to train before receiving a real sword from her Orabuni.
Cale Henituse was a mystery, even to his family, but not to a certain father and son duo who had been by his side ever since he was young. Ron and Beacrox Molan. Even if Deruth doesn’t want to admit it, he knew Cale sees Ron as more of a father than him. And without the knowledge of anyone but Ron, Cale would some nights, visit Beacrox in his kitchen and ask for some sort of food. Unlike how he would throw an angry fit every time he eats, he would be surprisingly docile and would thank the chef for the food.
This routine started when Jour died, of course. When Deruth started neglecting Cale, the young boy found comfort with the Molans who grew fond of him over time. That’s why it wouldn’t be a surprise if the Molans knew of Cale’s biggest secret that even his own family doesn’t know.
The Mark of Thames is what it’s called, based on Ron’s investigation. A trait Cale inherited from his mother’s side. It is said that the Thames bloodline is so unique, so unique it only allows women as descendants. This is not the typical ‘only women are born’ kind of bloodline. A child can be born as a boy but as they grow up, they’ll start changing into a girl every night until he stays a woman forever.
Ron had to dig a lot for this information because there is little known about Jour and the family she came from.
After finding out about this, Cale became cautious, too cautious that he started being paranoid about other people touching or looking at him. This is why he gets violent at times when he is drunk. It’s like a defense mechanism of some sort.
The old butler watched as his puppy young lady slept on her bed, the rise and fall of her chest gave him a strange sense of relief as his eyes trailed down to the hand that refuses to let go of his fingers. Her hands are smaller when she turns into a girl, smaller compared to his, so the immovable grip she had on him was amusing and endearing at the same time.
After all, this wasn’t the first time she refused to let go of him in her sleep, one time it was Beacrox but it was mostly Ron.
One of the main reasons why Cale didn’t want to reveal this to anyone else was that she looked so much like her late mother. Her very existence might ruin the family she had right now. Ron only happened to find out because he is her butler and her father figure. Beacrox found out on the night she refused to let go of him.
The lady had many fears and insecurities but Ron can only hope she’ll open up more in the future, especially to her family. Once she does, he firmly believes that she will only be more loved by everyone in the Henituse household.
The next day Cale woke up, he immediately felt his body to see if he turned back into a back and to his relief, he is back. He was about to call for his butler but the old man was already beside him before he could even say anything, almost giving him a heart attack. “Is there anything you need, Young master?”
Cale looked at him bewildered but the old man only smiled benignly, spooking the redhead. “…breakfast…light” He mumbled but Ron heard it clearly, with a bow he excused himself.
Once the door shut, Cale breathed out and let himself fall on the soft mattresses, remembering the dream he had last night after his break down. A dream or maybe a vision, in one year, he will meet a black-haired man that emits a deadly aura. He doesn’t know who that man is but he knows he isn’t someone to be messed with so he doesn’t plan on meeting him at all. Although it’s odd, why did he dream of it in the first place?
This wasn’t the first time this happened. Every night that he turns into a girl, get’s these kinds of visions in her dreams and all of them had happened if she weren’t there to interfere. Like some thugs who were supposed to rape a young girl in their territory, he chased them away and scared the girl so she won’t come out of her house if ever the thugs come back. Or when some nobles were planning on making fun of Basen in a tea party he was about to attend.
He accompanied his stepbrother and wreaked havoc at that tea party. Who would dare bully his brother? He will punish them a thousand times. There is no need to worry about the compensation for the destruction of property, his family is rich after all and his father will take his side no matter what he does. At this point, he thinks that even if he kills someone, his father will hide the body and cover for him. Not that he needed to kill anyone, he had Ron and Beacrox after all.
In short, there will always be a reason behind those visions especially when he is directly involved in it because it might be about his family.
Ron knew of these visions but didn’t know he got a new vision every night. He would usually help in preventing bad outcomes. But today, Cale plans on doing this alone since the man in his dream is not normal, this isn’t like the thugs he chased away nor did the dream see the purpose of the man.
Cale sighed, guess he’ll have to go to that tree huh?
“Young Master, I’ve brought your breakfast”
“Ah, right.” taking it as a signal, Ron entered and placed the food in front of Cale who paled in disgust at the sight of Lemon tea. “Ron…”
“Yes?” The old man smiled and the redhead man bit his lip, looking at him as if trying to communicate or complain without saying anything. But the old bastard had the gal to tilt his head and ask, “Is there any problem, Young master?”
This old bastard! Of course, Cale can’t say that out loud. Can just point at the lemon tea while looking straight at Ron. “You know that I don’t like lemon right?” he weakly protested, but the assassin just smiled a bit wider, as if amused-slash that! He is enjoying seeing him like this!
“but lemon is good for your health, Young master, I’ve noticed you’ve been increasingly ill these past few days, so you’ll be needing more lemons to consume” at those words, Cale almost let out a pathetic(adorable) cry but because he still had pride in himself, he can only pout and drank the tea in one go. “One cup a day is already enough, Ron” he pushed the empty teacup at his butler, looking at him in a puppy-like retaliation.
“I beg to differ, young master, I believe more than 3 cups will be needed.” Ron continued smiling, taking the cup from Cale’s hands
“NO! 2 is enough! It’s enough!” He signed his fingers with his index and middle finger to emphasize the number ‘2’ to Ron’s utter amusement.
“as you wish, young master” Ron bowed and watched his puppy young master huff and eat while still pouting it was endearing.
Alas, no one from outside the mansion will believe it when someone says that Cale is utterly adorable when he is sulky. ‘But oh well, their loss’ his eyes trailed at the small blush on the red-head young master’s cheek, revealing the fact that he is enjoying the food and forgot his predicament just now.
Chapter 2: Visions and Preparations
Summary:
Cale had a scary vision so now he is making preparations, besides that, would Ron be mad if Cale told him that he wants another butler?
Notes:
Heyya! thanks for all the kudos you have given this work and I appreciate them all. If you have any questions just comment and I'll try my best to answer them.
Chapter Text
It was a normal day at the Count’s household.
“FATHER!”
Well, it was supposed to be.
Deruth was busying himself with paperwork like usual, until his eldest son slammed the doors of his office without even knocking, calling for him. “Yes, Cale?” he still loves his son anyway.
The boy gave him a slight bow of the head as a form of respect before rushing to his table. “I want money father!” he said, eyes looking straight at his with a flaming passion that made Deruth sweatdrop comically.
“I see, then I’ll give you money” he signaled for Hans who understood the gesture and went to get the money. He didn’t need to be told how much, the count already has allocated bags of money he prepared for his children’s allowance or if in case they wanted to spend more money. Obviously, it was for Cale who loves to spend money on anything he fancies.
Once he got the bag containing gold coins, he immediately thanked his father and ran off somewhere, without even telling where he is going. Deruth can only assume that he’ll go to another bar to waste away, it’s nothing new but he still hoped nothing bad will happen to him knowing how much he picks fights with thugs and gangsters.
What the count didn’t know was that his son won’t be making any trouble for anyone today. Because today, he plans on acquiring an ancient power he discovered in one of his dreams, he initially wasn’t interested in the power. He had Ron and the Henituse Knights are more than capable of protecting him. It’s just really his recent vision that he felt on edge lately. Last night, he dreamt of the man once again, but it was short and terrifying.
A murderous glare filled with animosity and grudge. A fist ready to attack him. And an aura as black as death. He is sure he’ll be needing that ancient power if he wants to survive that. Especially when the day of the gathering comes. The event hosted by the royal family. If Cale is unwell that day and couldn’t come because he was beaten up by a man he pissed off, then Basen will be forced to attend.
Normally, he wouldn’t care, his brother is more than capable of taking care of himself but in one of his visions, he saw a badly injured Basen and a Basen in a coma with burns all over the left side of his body and face, leaving terrible scars.
He can’t that happening, not to his brother.
“Give me all of your bread!” Cale slammed his hand on the counter, scaring the owner who immediately ran to get his order, he could feel a lot of judgmental looks but he doesn’t give a fuck. Family comes second, his life comes first.
“Hurry up!”
“Yes, Young master!”
Once the bread he order arrived, he left and paid the man with one gold coin which is much more than what he should pay but he is Cale Henituse, when did he care about the money he spend? He entered the slums and a few people there. Taking pity on them for not being born wealthy like him, he decided to share the bread he brought, thee shouldn’t be a problem anyway cause he’ll just buy a new batch.
“You!” he pointed at an old man who seem to be the elder around. Giving him the one bag of bread smaller than the other, he gave instructions. “distribute the bread among all of you, and don’t do dare cheat cause I’m watching!” He pointed accusingly at the old man who couldn’t believe what was just happening.
“hmph” Cale went on his way to the man-eating tree past the slums and smiled at the sight of the ominous tree, only to frown once again when he saw 2 children approaching him. “The hell? What’re you guys doing here? Go to that old man there, he’ll give you food.” He sounded mean, but his words contained no insult or mean words toward the kids.
‘Damn it, why do I have a soft spot for kids again?’ A memory of him and Basin flashed and memory with Lily, ‘come to think of it, I am soft when it comes to those two. He just realized.
“Y-You can’t go there! Y-You’ll die!” the silver-haired one said, a childish worry present in her eyes while her brother had a mix of fear and curiosity.
“I won’t so just go! Get yourself some food from that old guy or something!” Cale dismissed them, waving his hand and turning back.
Weak footsteps were heard and a quiet “Don’t die” was said by the Silver-haired kid. Cale can only click his tongue before focusing on his main objective of coming here.
He smirked at the hole on the three after testing one bread before dumping all of the bread from the bag. “Come on and eat your fill”

After a while, he left the place with a plan to come back tomorrow. He couldn’t help but stop for a second when he saw the two kids waiting down the hill where the tree is located. Both were eating vigorously and once they noticed him, they perked up as if they are waiting for him to come out. It’s amusing to see. “I’ll come back tomorrow, don’t tell anyone that I was here”
He said the same thing to the others in the slums but in a more crude and mean way.
The next destination was nonother than Fragrance of tea with poetry. Billos’s shop and his favorite place to have an alone time. It has been a year since the two of them became acquaintances, he enjoyed Billos’ professionalism and admired his ambitions. If only he wasn’t a bastard and if only his family weren’t such idiots, the guy could’ve reached heights not just for himself but also for their merchant Family.
“Yo Billos! I’ll be staying until noon, if ever my butler asks for me just let him in” he greeted with a proud smirk as the customers in Billos’s shop mind their own business.
Ahh, this is why he liked this shop. “I understand, Young master. The third floor has already been prepared. Is there anything else that you would like young master?”
“I’d like a something sweet while I’m reading”
“I’ll prepare it right away”
See? Billos is a professional, such a shame he can’t be a servant of the Henituse Family. They’ll earn more money if they have this piggy bank.
Will Ron get mad at him if he says that he wants Billos as his butler?
Chapter 3: Henituse Territory's Spoiled Young Master
Summary:
Just Cale being the spoiled baby and Ron doing a little prank on his puppy young master.
Deruth is contemplating the fact that he just turned Cale into a money lover. Expect changes from the original plot and thank you for reading.
Notes:
As I said before, Cale has a bit of Kim Rok Soo's personality and is a bit more spoiled and childish because he is just so adorable I can die.

Chapter Text
Cale is a 17 years old man and the eldest son of Count Deruth Henituse, has two younger siblings and received an education comparable to the royal family’s even though all he does is sleep. A fine young man who had beautiful red hair and piercing reddish-brown eyes, and yet so adorably spoiled like a child, even more than his 6 years old sister, Lily. Of course, only Ron and Beacrox knew of this. The family can also feel a hint of childishness from Cale when he threw tantrums. One would think he is violent but really, he is just a spoiled brat.
“Beacrox!! how could you do this to me!!” the spoiled child barged into the torturer/chef’s kitchen. Usually, the man would be annoyed by this if it were anyone, but this is Cale and this is not the first time this happened. So he is used to it. “You did this on purpose didn’t you!”
The redhead stomps his way towards him, a childish grudge present in his eyes. “You know I don’t like that thing!” he pointed at the plate Ron(where did he come from?) was holding. It was a sweet and sour dish, that frightening taste like the lemon tea Ron serves when it wasn’t even supposed to taste that sour. Beacrox only looked at him in a deadpanned manner. “I didn’t prepare that… Father did” and he just easily revealed it, just as amused as his father though not showing it on his stoic face.
The puppy young master froze at the revelation before slowly turning to Ron with a teary glare. “Ron you bastard!”
The servants can only watch endearingly from the door because they are scared of Beacrox, no matter how good-looking the man is, he just gives them the creeps. While the Henituse family is in the dining room, already knowing about Ron’s little prank on Cale.
.
.
.
.
It ruined Cale’s day, screw that old man. This was supposed to be a joyous day because he’ll finally acquire that damn gluttonous shield! “Young master, the people had been moved to the center” Ron bowed as they arrive near the slum.
Right, Cale had proposed a home center where the homeless can stay at. Of course, it will be funded by the Count monthly but that doesn’t mean everything is for free. They’ll have to work for it by doing community services to the territory which isn’t all that bad. They only need to return 15% of what was given to them generally and the rest of the money they owned is theirs. Deruth was impressed by this proposal and for the past 2 months, he had the home built enough to accommodate the people of the slums.
It’s annoying to see such ugliness in his family’s territory, and he ought to fix it.
“I see, good then. Stay here and wait for me.” Cale glared at the butler firmly(Like a puppy) knowing that if he don’t use his authority, Ron will surely follow him. Seeing that small benign smile, he left out a small huff before entering the fog towards the man-eating tree.
With a large bag in hand, he didn’t hesitate to dump the contents on the hole that was once pitch black, now starting to turn white until it flashes brightly.
[“It’s so delicious!!”]
[“the soft texture of the bread! I especially liked the bread you brought today! I guess even food develops as time goes by”] a nonstop evaluation of the bread, Cale grimaced. And then he can only as the talkative glutton went on and on about food and his past.
“I see, good for you then but your-”[Thank you! I’m happy to know you’re glad for me! You’re a good guy! Okay, I’ll protect you from now on!”] it suddenly glowed brighter and went straight to his chest, to his heart.
Cale smiled at the feeling of the power in his veins and when he looked up, the ominous tree had turned into a fresh green color that is pleasant to the eyes. “Interesting… and it feels good”
He activated the power and a silver shield appeared in front of him. He was smiling at the sight of it until his eyes squint at how holy it looked.
“Meow!”
After hearing the familiar sound, Cale calmly turned around, the silver shield disappearing as he do so. There he saw the two kittens that he would come across often in the slums waiting for him patiently like how they did for the last two months.
“ah seriously, you two are persistent,” he said that but he couldn’t help feeling warmth in his chest as he bent down and patted the two felines. “If you’re really that eager then I guess I wouldn’t mind having some company back at the mansion.” a helpless smile appeared on his face.
Both kittens mewed gleefully ad rubbed themselves on Cale's gentle hands before the redhead picked them up in his arms. “now, let’s get out of here, yeah?” hearing cheery meows, Cale exited the dirty slums and was met with a smiling old man.
For some reason, Ron was curious about the two kits while Hans was looking at them with sparkling eyes. “Young master, who are these adorable little ones?”
Cale snorted at the butler’s obvious love for the cute kittens. “They’ll be part of the family now, I’m leaving them in your care so make sure they are well taken cared of.” The ginger head butler nodded his head enthusiastically, carefully taking the kittens from the young master's arms, not forgetting to say thank you for giving him the opportunity.
The carriage door was opened by Ron and both he and Hans entered with the old butler following before closing the door. The kittens are enjoying the young butler’s doting while the other two in the carriage watch in either amusement or indifference.
‘Yeah, they’ll fit right into the family if they are that spoiled’ Looking out of the window and at the streets of his beloved territory, he can only hope for the future and that his family will stay safe.
Just like that, a year had passed
Cale Henituse is now an 18 years old adult, able to make his own decisions and able to stand on his own two feet. Although his personality at times is questionable along with his intentions, once you get to know him you’ll know he isn’t so bad after all. Even though he is such a spoiled child.
“Father, you traitor!!” the maids in the hallways near the count’s office flinched in surprise after hearing the ‘young master’ s angry scream which must’ve been heard all throughout the estate. An angry-looking beautiful lady passed by them as she stomped towards her father’s office.
Cale Henituse, their endearing yet so annoyingly adorable young master had revealed the fact that she turns into a girl at sudden times when the family finally found out about this phenomenon that is happening to her. Drama ensues after that within each family member except for innocent Lily who was happy to have an unnie.
They could only wonder what did the count do to make their now young lady Cale scream like that. No matter how many times she shouts, no one had ever witnessed her screaming or hurting somebody out of impulse.
“Cale wha-” Deruth was expecting this. Yes, he should be, because he knew how his daughter hates interacting with nobles especially if those nobles are the same people who bullied Basen and talked about her behind her back or outright in front of her. “You promised me you won’t let me go to those stupid trashy nobles parties!” and he should be ashamed of himself because his daughter is now teary-eyed.
Truthfully, he also didn’t want her to go. For fuck's sake she was invited to the Tolz territory for the party! Those damned peasants. Who would’ve thought that the golden turtles would be invited to that poor territory? He speculated that it was because of the news 6 months ago. The day Cale revealed to everyone that he turns into a girl at night, and now he is slowly turning into a girl even during the day.
Since that, Cale’s drunk sprees had increasingly lessened even almost as if she hasn’t done it in the past at all. She just became a spoiled whining girl, who is so adorable when she threw these tantrums.
“But Cale, you told me that if I get the chance to visit the Tolz territory I must send you there instead of me and Basen remember?” he doesn’t know what his daughter is thinking honestly, but he won’t deny her anything nor will he question her actions like he did in the past. And besides, there is no way he’ll let her go there alone in a place full of wolves.
Aigoo, Cale is too beautiful when he is a girl, not that she isn’t already pretty as a man. He still hasn’t forgotten the face of those soldiers who happen to have caught a glimpse of Cale’s beautiful face nor will he ignore the lust in their eyes. The audacity!
When the girl’s eyes widen in realization, Deruth can only heave a sigh, relieved to know that his daughter isn’t mad at him anymore. “Oh, you got an invitation?”
“You and Violan are invited by the Viscountess, she also invited Lily but she got sick after her training so she won’t be able to come.” he handed the letter to Cale who gingerly opened it and scanned its contents. “Your mother has already read the letter and is preparing everything, if you need anything just ask her”
The young lady nodded and then held out her hand, Deruth knew what it meant and gestured for the butler to get him a pouch filled with gold twice the amount the children usually receive. He couldn’t help but chuckle at the sparkles around Cale as she look at the pouch in her hand. “You’re a grown-up now Cale, and you make decisions that are for the best of our territory, think of this as your salary for the help you have given this old father of yours”
She continued to shine happily knowing she can spend more with all of this money, “Yes, thank you father!!” with a happy smile, she exited the room looking completely different from how she barged into the office. Deruth and his butler sweatdropped comically. “Seriously, I don’t know where she get this love for gold, oh wait, I guess it’s my fault for giving her too much?” he looked at his butler who looked away.
“ehem, I’m sure the lady will use them for the greater good, Count, you don’t have to worry.”
'You didn’t answer my question.' Deruth

Chapter Text
Cale didn’t expect his transformation will last until lunch and his father was being adamant about having breakfast with him because they’ll be gone after lunch. When Ron made an excuse that he wasn’t feeling well, that just made his family cancel all their business scheduled that day just to visit him in his unusual state.
Ron had wanted to stop them from visiting but came to the conclusion that it’ll be better if Cale reveals the truth to his family. And the look of betrayal and fear in his eyes stabbed the old man’s heart. “Please don’t look at me like that, Young lady. You know that they’ll find out about your condition no matter how much we try to hide it. This old man believes that now would be a good time to open up to your family” he slightly bowed, not wanting to see the look on Cale’s face who still refused to be seen by his family.
So he ended up being kicked out by his puppy charge, along with his son who supported his father’s words. The only ones left with her at the kittens who are siding with Cale because they are kids, if it makes their adoptive parent sad then they don’t want it to happen to her. If they were much older, Ron could guess that they’ll be singing the same tone as him and Beacrox.
For years, he hid the truth about his young lady even though he knew how exhausted she gets at night and how many nightmares she witnessed in her sleep. Well, if you call those visions mere nightmares that is. Ron, though cold and cruel, has come to care for Cale like how he loves his son, Beacrox. The same could be said by this son of his who doesn’t mind Cale‘s presence even though he is a loudmouth.
That day, Cale locked herself in her room, refusing to go out. The ones bringing her food are the kittens.
The family grew increasingly worried and Deruth tried to make Ron tell him the truth but the old man refuses. “Forgive this servant, Count but the decision to tell you is the young master’s. And as you can see, I got kicked out for suggesting it” the Henituse couple sighed, knowing that the butler did his best but that didn’t lessen their frustration and worry at all.
A thought came to Ron’s mind and his eyes traveled towards Basen and Lily who are worriedly sitting far away from the adults. “If I may suggest, I believe that the young master might open up to Young master Basen and Young lady Lily, he… has a soft spot for them after all” It wouldn’t hurt to reveal that fact right? The young lady is fond of children or anyone younger than her and has a parental attitude.
The count gave it a thought and agreed to the suggestion. “I can see your point. Basen, Lily.” he softly called for his children who perked up at the mention of their name. Obediently, they approached the adults and waited for their next words. “We have something for you to do, it involves your older brother will you be able to do it?” Violan asked.
The two looked at each other before hesitantly nodding.
.
.
Right now the second son and the youngest child of the Henituse family are standing in front of their brother’s room with Ron. The old butler only stood a few meters away from them and the door. They both looked at each other before gathering the courage to knock and call for Cale. “Hyung-nim? It's me and Lily.”
“Your eldest brother currently won’t let anyone in, but we hoped that he would if it’s the two of you. Can you convince Cale for us?” That is what Deruth told them.
Of course, they weren’t expecting much, cause even though they don’t hold any hate or some sort of competition among each other, that doesn’t mean they can be called close. They even believed that Beacrox is more of a sibling to Cale. However, they do love the redhead dearly. So they’ll just have to try their best to coax their beloved eldest brother.
They didn’t expect Cale to open up without them even saying anything else. They looked bewildered when the door opened and revealed a silver-haired girl, is it weird for them to think that she looks just like the cat, On? Both turned their gaze to Ron who was still smiling and nodded at them. Basen looked at the open door, feeling a sense of happiness to know that Cale doesn't mind them.
With newfound confidence, the two entered the room and the door closed as if telling Ron that he is not welcomed even if he is standing obediently there. But the old man doesn’t mind, is delighted that the young lady had willingly let the two in which means she didn’t disregard his words at all. The reason why he is still not welcomed might be because Cale was too embarrassed to admit he is right or even look at him in the eye.
That’s fine, she has the kittens and her siblings at the moment, so Ron doesn’t need to coddle her troublesome tantrums and spoiled antics at the moment. Nobody knew except for Ron, not even the young lady is aware of this fact, that Cale Henituse loves her siblings more than anything or anyone, even more than Ron who raised her like a father.
It might’ve been because of the late countess who made Cale promise that if he’ll ever have younger siblings, he’ll love them and care for them. And like the obedient mommy’s boy, he was at that time, he promised that he’ll protect them and put them first before himself.
Wait, promise? Ron thought.
Was the countess planning on giving the young master siblings or did she foresaw this?
.
.
\
.
.
By the time the siblings exited the room, it was already past lunch and it seems that Cale was still in his female form. That’s why when they were walking down the hallway to the count’s office, the servants are looking with wide eyes and disbelief written all over their faces. They only looked away when Cale turned to them with an expression that says ‘What are ya lookin’ at? Never seen a man turn into a girl before?’ is what Ron interpreted.
The lady was holding her siblings close to her, getting more irritated by the eyes watching her. She doesn’t like this at all. Although she spent all those years trying to gain the attention of many people to ruin her own image, that doesn’t mean she likes the feeling of eyes on her. “stop looking at me! You’re not being paid to just staring at me like some dumb fuckers!” she roared and the servants just look away.
Once they arrived at the count’s office, Deruth and Violan had the same reaction as the servants. But Cale just sat on the sofa in front of the Henituse Couple like it’s normal that she just showed up with a body that of a woman’s, a gorgeous woman at that. The three had a staring competition until Violan decided to speak for confirmation. “Cale… what is this?” she motioned at the female body of her supposed ‘Son’.
That is when the redhead explained to them the predicament she is in. Her father felt really disappointed in himself for letting his son, now daughter, suffer alone for all those years. Violan supported Cale and considered her feelings regarding this gender change. Cale is beautiful, too beautiful. It won’t be long until every man she passes by will be attracted only at the sight of her. So this means the redhead won’t be treated as a man anymore but as a young lady. Not only that but since she is a noble, there is a high chance that engagement proposals will appear from everywhere.
But then to their surprise, Cale responded. “ It’s fine, I prefer men anyways” Deruth felt like he was struck by lightning, he didn’t even know his own child’s preferences and he was grieving the fact that there is a high chance his precious eldest son/daughter will be stolen by some incompetent bastard and Cale will be okay with it. “ as long as they can buy me expensive wine and get along with the family then I don’t mind.” the redhead said and it lightened Deruth’s feelings.
He’ll just have to make sure he never gets along with the person courting Cale or if better, he’ll just burn every letter of engagement proposals. Yeah. That would be better.
(Later on, he realized that he should’ve been more careful of the people that Cale considered as ‘Friends and acquaintances’ like that damn sly prince and that swordsman who pretends like a puppy but in truth is a psycho.
Aigo, his precious daughter….)
“You’re not disappointed?” the young suddenly turned meek. The couple looked at each other before smiling, standing up from their seat toward their children to engulf them in a hug. “We’re not disappointed one bit.”
“You are our child, Cale. And we are your parents, each part of you, whether perfect or flawed, we’ll love and accept them without any hesitation.”
Hearing those words, tear after tears dropped from the red head’s eyes and her lips trembled before she started sobbing quietly and her family just sat there, hugging her comfortingly that she couldn’t help but cry even more.
That night, when Ron was tucking his young miss to bed, she spoke. “Ron”
“Yes, Young lady?”
“...thank you for always being there for me”
The old man stopped for a bit before a small smile appeared on his face, it was different from the usual facade he wears all day. “It’s my pleasure to serve you, Young lady.” he bowed slightly before speaking once again. “and don’t worry, I won’t speak of this ever again” his smile turned mischievous and Cale huffed.
“You better.”
They are pertaining to the numerous stuffed toys and pillows on her bed to give her comfort while her one hand was holding unto Ron’s. “If you leave while I’m awake I’ll fire you” she threatened and her grip on his hand tightened.
Notes:
Cale thinks it's childish to sleep with dolls and stuffed toys and yet she is the type of person who wants something to cuddle when down or wanted comfort(Especially when Ron is not around.), and she intends to keep it a secret.
Chapter 5: The Might of the Golden Turtle(part 1)

But at the very least Alberu has finally made his appearance.
Chapter Text
Cale didn’t expect much from the very beginning, he knew that the nobles attending are all assholes. And he knew the reason why the Viscountess started a tea party and even invited them, the Henituse Family they hated so much. Seriously, how could he not when it is so obvious. Most of the nobles they invited are their allies in the 3rd prince’s faction and they are very, very wary and very, so utterly envious of the Henituse Family wealth. For years they have been trying to find the family’s weaknesses and thought that it was Cale who was a trash but to their utter frustration, it seems that the trash of the Eldest son isn’t that weakness. This was confusing because the supposed heir is trash, shouldn’t the family, especially the Count be affected at least? Or shouldn’t the trash cause more ruckus so they’ll have more reason to laugh at the golden turtle? Well, they have failed to understand the fact that the very trash they thought to be ruining the family is actually the one protecting it.
The Count might be good at protecting their reputation and their people but when it comes to handling nobles, he just ignores them while Violan doesn’t give 2 fvcks about what the others would think as long as they won’t harm her family. So Cale took it upon himself to take care of those annoying bastards. Beating up a kid from an enemy house who plots against the family? Sure, Cale can do that and the Count won’t even apologize to the family. Break a fake expensive vase from an annoyingly prideful household? Leave it to Cale and Violan will only sneer at the family.
They are not called a Golden Turtle for anything.
So when the rumors and the confirmation of Cale’s transformation, they thought it was another chance to fvck up the Henituse Territory. Hah! Well, Cale doesn’t give a fuck about their opinions. Like a Golden Turtle unaffected on the outside, Cale is weak on the inside or to be more specific, his family. The reason why he hid his condition was that he didn’t want to become a bother to his family. So after everything is solved, he now has nothing to fear.
That is why, even if they specifically prepared this party to diss Cale, the redhead won’t even feel touched. He’ll just sneer at them or maybe he can cause a rucku-
“You can’t cause a ruckus” Cale flinched at his mother’s words and he ca only pout. “unless you are given a reason to. Mother will back you up” She smiled and the redhead reciprocated the smile at the words she just said.
‘Thank you, Mother.”
Oh, this party will be fun. Because not only was he given the green card to wreak havoc but he also plans to make a certain house he hates, turn into chaos.
Cause he plans to steal a certain something from them. He brought On and Hong to do some things for him while he is busy at the party.
And oh, he’ll also be giving them a surprise later that night, after all, he won’t be coming as a scared and ashamed Girl that was supposed to be a boy. He will walk into that party with a proud smile on his face as the Lady who was supposed to be a young Master.
“We’ll be stopping at a near inn to prepare your clothes, it’s almost night, you should be transforming later,” Violan informed him and he doesn’t have any complaints. Not that he’ll wear a dress anyway. As someone who is initially a man at heart, Cale is going to wear pants. The reason why he needed to change was that he is smaller when he turns into a girl. Not too small but small enough for his clothes to slide off him if he so much as runs.
“This will be your first appearance in the noble society as a lady, have you remembered the lessons you’ve taken from your etiquette teacher?” Violan asked without even looking at Cale who nonchalantly shrugged his shoulders.
After finding out he can turn into a girl, Violan had hired one of the best etiquette teachers to teach him. She felt sorry for the said teacher who kept on complaining to her about how lazy the boy was during their classes.
“I’ll stay the same as I have always been, ruining other noble’s lives” Cale smiled while looking outside the window.
He knows how most nobles think, that’s why he was able to fuck them up when he attends gatherings like this. That is how he survives in the noble society despite having a family that doesn’t have that much involvement with other noble houses.
“Young Lady, Countess Violan. We found a decent inn in this village. It’s the only inn but we assure you that it offers good service.” Ron informed them and Violan waved her hand. The servants and knights took this as a signal and headed to the inn.
“I heard Young Master Wheelsman will also be attending. Aren’t you excited to see them?” The Countess smiled at Cale who looked away with a small blush on his face. Ever since he started acting like trash, he had already cut any forms of communication with Eric and the other Northeastern nobles he is acquainted with, and even if the older man still sends letters, Cale didn’t reply to a single one of them.
But it is no doubt to the Violan that her stepson still cares for the only person he has ever called ‘Hyung’. Eric must’ve known too as well, that Cale still cares and respects him as a hyung even after not seeing or talking to each other for a long time.
The sun was setting and they arrived at the inn on time.
In the past, Cale turns into a girl once the clock strikes eight, but after all these months, the time becomes earlier. Once the sun disappears, Cale will turn into a woman that’s why they didn’t have to wait long to prepare Cale.
At the Tolz Estate, two princes are present, Crown Prince Alberu and the 3rd prince. Anyone knows why the 3rd prince was present but no one knew why the crown prince is here as well. But Alberu is more than aware of why he is here. The fvcking queen decided to send him and his brother, to make him see how much the nobles sided with him and not with Alberu. From the very start, Alberu’s noble supporters can be counted on two hands. Though he is loved by the people, the noble power is on a different level.
He can only sigh, it’s because of that immature and stupid queen. Can’t he have a break from all this mess? Maybe if he becomes King but that is the main reason why is fighting for that damned golden throne.
Some nobles from neutral factions are also present like Eric Wheelsman, Lady Amiru, and Young master Gilbert from the northeastern nobles. He also heard that the Henituse Countess will also be attending along with the eldest young master. If the trash is coming, then Alberu hopes he causes a ruckus and ruins this party so that he’ll only have to laugh at his brother’s face. If he does then the crown prince will happily turn a blind eye to the chaos he will start.
Now that he thinks of it if he protects the Young master Henituse from the wrath of the other royals, would the Count be grateful to him enough to support him as the next King? Yeah right, like that would happen. Even the King won’t dare to outright go against the Golden turtle. It’s good enough that the family is neutral in the fight for the throne. And it’s not like Count Deruth would care about the destruction his son carries everywhere nor would he even scold him.
Though it would be a real shame to not have the Henituse family on his side because there are nobles, neutral or from the other prince’s faction, who will turn to his side once the Count Family does. That is how powerful the family is.
“Entering Countess Violan Henituse and Y-Young lady Cale Henituse from the Henituse Territory!”
…Did he just stutter?
Alberu turned to the entrance only to be left speechless and mesmerized at the sight of beautiful flowing red hair, reddish-brown eyes that shine with disinterest, milky pale skin tone, a small nose, and kissable pink lips. A goddess seemed to have descended.
Wait, did the servant just say Young Lady Cale Henituse?
That gorgeous lady is the Young Master? Alberu couldn’t help but think about the situation and remembered the spreading rumor of the trash turning into a girl, he thought those were only baseless rumors. But now that he sees the proof in front of his eyes, he confirmed those rumors are true. Though it seems that it’s not the only rumor he confirmed.
The Young Lady stayed at the door with her stepmother, the Countess hiding half her face with her fan with her sharp eyes looking down at the nobles in the room despite having her head tilted down. While the Young Lady’s haughty yet disinterested eyes are sharp, sharper than the countess, her head held high and those eyes looking down at the nobles. It was a silent insult to all the higher ranking nobles and because they are a lowly count family and most of the nobles present are in higher noble standing than them, Alberu can see a few of the people gritting their teeth, some started glaring or turned cold.
It seems that Cale Henituse isn’t as much of a trash as the rumor says she is.

Chapter 6: The Might of the Golden Turtle(part 2)
Summary:
Cale's reunion with her 'Hyung' and friends and other events to be unfolded.
Notes:
Here's chapter 6 guys! So a lot of you might get confused at the 'Hyung' part. I just thought a bit of Cale's perspective like would she want to call Eric Oraboni or Hyung. I choose to stick with 'Hyung' for now because she is still adjusting to her new body with regards to her interaction with others. But one of the reasons is because I just found it cute that she'll call him Hyung as a remembrance of their childhood to show her respect towards him. Don't worry I plan to change it to oraboni once the story progresses. I think the chapter is a bit short but please bear with me >.< College is hard and finals in around the corner so it's been a hectic week.
so far I love how I'm progressing with my fic and let me know your opinions if you want to say anything. And by the way, I appreciate all of the comments and kudos you've given me, I didn't expect that my work will get this much love. Thank you so much.

Chapter Text
The nobles in the reception are mesmerized by the young lady but also insulted at the defiant way she is looking at them as if she looking at annoying bugs.
“Cale, I’ll be with my acquaintances if you need anything.” Violan informed her ‘daughter’ nonchalantly and the young lady returned it with a wave of the hand instead of shrugging her shoulders as most young noblemen would do. Guess the lessons weren’t in vain, Wilma(Cale’s Etiquette Tutor).
The first thing Cale did was take a few snacks on the banquet table before going to a secluded area in the reception, at the far corner where only a few nobles are in. Most nobles are flocking to the center to be noticed and to interact with other high-standing nobles, to make connections, boost their power, and get information. And then some just want to hang out with their friends.
“Cale!” like these people.
“Hyung-nim” Cale turned to the northeastern nobles she is close to. Both Amiru and Glibert sported shocked expressions while her most respected Hyung-nim looked happy to see her even if this isn’t how he imagined he’ll meet his dongsaeng again. And hearing her call him Hyung just made him feel happier. “It’s good to finally see you again! So how are you? “
A look of worry was mixed in her hyung-nim’s bright expression, “I’ve been fine, Hyung-nim. Just needed a bit of adjustment with my current situation” She offered him a small smile which completely brightened her kind Hyung’s face. While some of the people near them blushed at the sight of Cale’s smile along with Amiru and Gilbert.
“Young Lady Amiru, Young master Gildert.” Cale nodded her towards them who fumbled a greeting back.
“Aigoo, why do you look so skinny as a girl? Are you not eating properly or..” Eric couldn’t help but worry, almost forgetting the fact that this might be a sensitive topic to Cale but the redhead shook her head slightly. “No, I just take a smaller figure whenever I turn to a girl, don’t worry hyung-nim, I’ve been eating well”
The elder young master sighed in relief and motioned to the empty seat beside her. “I don’t mind at all, go ahead and take a seat.” with that, the three nobles occupied the table with her.
It was mostly the three who are speaking while Cale was giving small replies, nonetheless, there was peace. Wait… peace?!
Some nobles watched Cale warily as the trash was just sitting there without any wine at hand, calmly interacting with her acquaintances. Wasn’t she supposed to go around causing trouble? Or…
Their eyes turned sharp.
‘The young lady right now is scared and ashamed’ they all thought in unison.
Because why else wouldn’t she cause a ruckus? She must’ve been ashamed and didn’t want to be the center of attention that’s why she is keeping quiet. Hah! Looks like they can still have their fun after all. The stares pointed at her intensified and Cale hid her knowing smile expertly. Idiots thought of something stupid again.
Oh well, they should wait a little bit more cause Cale plans on spending a few more moments of peace with her friends before she gives the nobles her precious attention, and once she does, she’ll make sure it’ll be fun. Well, at least for her and Violan.
Besides that, she gazed moved when she felt a particular pair of eyes and made eye contact with the blue eyes of the Crown Prince Alberu. Strange, why is he looking at her? And why are there only a few people sticking around him?
Was it because most of the nobles here are from the 3rd prince faction? Even some of the young nobles around him are supporters of his younger brother. It looks like the party has other reasons for being organized.
The young lady looked away, focusing on Eric once again who held out his hand with a charming smile on his face. “May I have this dance, Dongsaeng?”
Oh, Cale looked around and saw a few nobles dancing as the music played. Even Glibert and Amiru are dancing, she smiled and took Eric’s offered hand. They didn’t go to the center because it will just attract too much attention and Cale was happy that her Hyung is trying his best to keep her comfortable because, after all, this is her first time dancing as a girl. Not that she minded nor was she having a hard time, Wilma is a ferocious and outstanding teacher. No matter how much she gets frustrated at the fact that Cale doesn’t put effort and skipped her class more than she should, she still persevered and hunted her down in all of the estate’s nook and cranny, she drilled all of the basics into Cale and the redhead perfectly executed them after.
“Are you sure you’re fine about all this?” Eric asked, full of uncertainty and worry.
Ah, her worry-wart hyung-nim. Always looking after her. A smile made its way to her beautiful face. “I’ve been reading the Novel ‘ Sealed Despair’ as well as the ‘Adventures of a Lone Wolf’” she suddenly said, confusing Eric until he remembered what those books are.
“I ditched all my classes but I still read books”
“I’ve been eating well, 3 times a day along with snacks in between breakfast, lunch, and after dinner.”
“Although I did drink too much I always come home safe and I make sure my butler knows my location every time I go out.”
“Basen is still a coward and still afraid of other aristocrats but he had been helping in managing the territory very well so I don’t forget to reward him every time.”
“Lily is showing signs of talent in swordsmanship and the family is supporting her.”
“I also try not to cause too much trouble for father and mother”
“though I don’t throw things at the servants, I still throw things”
And she kept talking and talking. While Eric was smiling softly at the redhead who is now informing him of the questions and worries he had stated in every letter he sent. Yes, his dongsaeng still respects her hyung after all.
“I see, I’m glad, Cale. Really glad.” the song ended and he momentarily let go of all his etiquette and gave the redhead an affectionate pat on the head with all the doting of an elder brother to his younger sibling.
The younger one of the two encourages the older to ask his prospective fiance for a dance and it is none other than Lady Amiru Ubarr herself. Gilbert has gone and danced with a few persistent ladies who fancies him and he didn’t forget to shoot her an apologetic look because he left her on her own which she didn’t mind at all. She rather not dance again. The only reason why she did so earlier was that it was Eric who asked. Of course, if Gilbert were to ask her to dance, she would’ve agreed cause they are friends but because of his current situation right now, she’d rather not site the anger of the ladies since women are dangerous when they are jealous or angry. Cale had seen her fair share of angry women and she prefers not to be the target of that animosity even though she is a girl herself right now.
However, that’s not the only reason why she preferred to not dance at the moment. She can still feel it, the hungry gaze of the nobles, waiting for any slip up she does, observing her every action like a predator watching its prey.
Well, sadly for them, Cale is the very opposite of a weak and helpless prey. A female servant approached her and offered her the beverages from the tray she is holding and she didn’t hesitate to take one glass of wine.
One whiff of the wine and her eyebrows automatically creased, showing a disgusted expression. “wait.” She said which caught the retreating maid’s attention, knowing it was directed towards her. She nervously turned and looked at the young lady who was looking at her with disdain and disgust, making her flinch and then quiver in fright.
“Do you think of me as a joke?”
And that was the cue, for every noble against the Henituse Family, to make their move.

Chapter Text
“oh my, Young lady Cale” the mentioned young lady turned and met face to face with the eldest daughter of Marquis Stan’s household. Her smile really is creepy, Cale wonders if it’s true that all the Stan’s have scary or creepy smiles.
With an elegant raise of the brow, Cale spoke. “is there anything you need, Young Lady Francine?”
The Young lady of Stan giggled behind her gloved hand, sizing Cale up with her green eyes. “Well, it seems that the lady Cale is having problems with the wine…” she trailed and looked at the maid who flinched and started trembling.
“I’m just worried so I came to remind you that this is a party for nobles, and I completely understand that it is your first time as a young lady in front of high society.” The other ladies giggled behind her and looked at Cale the same way, with judgement and criticism. But the redhead still had a blank look on her face. “and?”
“...what?”
“Is there a reason for young Lady Francine to meddle in my business? Whether I m satisfied with the wine of this territory or not? Whether I should conduct proper etiquette or not? I don’t think we are even in speaking terms for you to invade my privacy and have a say in my decisions, Young lady.” Cale arched her body to rest her free hand on her hip, showing of her curves, looking straight at the blonde hair lady.
“Oh my how crude.” one lady behind whispered, and then the others followed.
“It seems that the trash has no sense of etiquette or manners, or even gratitude. Lady Francine had went on her way to warn you so you won’t do anything stupid that could ruin the entire evening!” with a loud voice, the eldest daughter of the Tolz family caught the attention of many nobles. Some were curious and some were enjoying the show, some knew this would happen, while some looked like they wanted to join in as well.
There were a few who are worried which of course are her friends and her mother. But one eye contact and the two already understood each other. There was no need for Violan to interfere. There is a reason why Cale’s etiquette lessons for women had only lasted for half a year. Not because she was incompetent, but because she is like a sponge that absorbs every bits of information she was given.
“having no sense of etiquette nor manner huh?” her reddish brown eyes roamed around the room and she can see a few nobles that are starting to slowly approach them. “I don’t want to hear that from someone who uses such boorish words, Young Lady Olivia” and those same nobles froze, some even flinched when their eyes met with Cale’s sharp ones, as if challenging them if they dare join in.
“w-what did you say?!!!” Lady Olivia pointed at the redhead only for Cale to cover her mouth with her hand while giggling, much similar to how Lady Francine did while approaching her. “Oh my how crude.” she mockingly repeated the words that was said by one of the ladies who purposely said those words outloud to embarrass Cale only for their plan to backfire.
Cale liked the expression of their faces but nothing can compare to how Francine’s supposed innocent smile to morphed into a ugly frown. “It seems that you ladies need to take your etiquette lessons again. You need to learn some manners.”
Said ladies blushed in shame while looking at Cale in rage. “Now regarding to Young Lady Francine’s ‘concern’ for me, why should I be grateful when she greeted me with a laugh out of no where when I haven’t done anything but call the maid? That shouldn’t even be called a greeting in the first place. It was a plain display of mockery and just by looking at how you are all banding together whispering as if there is something worth gossiping about me, I’m going to repeat the words I have told this maid. Do you, ‘esteemed’ young ladies, think of me as a joke?” the red haired young lady placed a firm hand on the maid who was still trembling but her eyes are set on the expressions of the girls as they burn in anger and embarrassment.
“You see, young master Cale, everyone knows of your love for wine and how you drink wine as if it’s water. And we are all aware of how violent you can be once you get drunk. But it is also well known that you only drink the finest of wines, how you throw many objects anywhere when you are displeased with the quality. Based on how you reacted just by smelling the wine, I figured you might do something that could taint your reputation so I went on my way to warn you about it.” Francine persevered to bring down Cale, she had long been bitter about the Henituse Family and how she prepared for this day to finally attack the said family. So she isn’t backing down. The Henituse Count Family is one of her father’s strongest enemies, if she succeeds in this, no matter how childish it may be, she’ll be recognized.
The Henituse Young lady hummed with a small smile on her face. “I see, it’s seems that you know so much regarding the rumors about me despite them dying down from almost a year now, it almost sounds like you’re holding a grudge against me or something.” Francine didn’t expect for Cale to point everything out, most nobles just ignores others intentions and tries to get along with them for the sake of rising to high society or gaining more followers in the case of high ranking nobles. In short, Nobles would rather put up with the mockery for the sake of making connections.
But Francine might’ve forgotten that she just targeted the Golden Turtles, the noble family that minds their own business. The Noble family that is not afraid to speak their minds and does not care about social standing because whether they are at the lowest position in the Noble society or at the highest, they’ll always be more powerful that even the royal family won’t dare to bother them.
“Well, I can’t deny that allegation, I do love wine and I drink wine so much everyday that I already know their unique scent, taste and color. You could say that I have gained a certain skill in differentiating good wine…” Cale lifted her hand that was holding the glass and dumped all of it’s contents on the plant behind her. “…from bad wine”
With a prideful smile she looked at Francine who had a conflicted expression on her face as if she didn’t understand what Cale means. “You should try to gain this skill as well, Young Lady Francine of the Marquis Stan’s Household. I heard your youngest brother died from poisoning last month, it’d be a good way to avoid that from happening again right?” everyone was confuse at what she is hinting until she stepped aside and what was revealed to them slowly drained the color on their faces.
The once healthy green plan looked so dead it was horrifying, a look of horror was present in their faces. Those who were holding wine, threw their glasses away in fright. While everyone is panicking, Cale was looking straight at Francine blankly with her arms crossed. While the blonde girl couldn’t help but grit her teeth while staring back at the red head with animosity.
Some nobles are looking at her in judgement, she felt a shiver down her spine and she turned around to meet eyes with her mother who was looking at her icily. She knew her mother is going to punish her later or worse, kill her. Cale Henituse specifically mentioned the her and her dead brother that was poisoned, even mentioning her household, now the nobles will automatically think about the Stan family when this event comes into mind.
This is a disgrace she caused to her family.
“T-This” Madam Tolz approached the scene in a hurry to try and calm down the situation and while she is trying to appease everyone, Cale’s brown eyes trailed towards the Crown Prince and 3rd prince who are approaching, her mother is also heading towards her along with Eric, Amiru and Gilbert. Then an idea popped into her mind.
‘Should I give them a warning?’ she thought as she bowed at the presence of the royals
“Greetings to the little sun of our Roan Kingdom” They all bowed down in greeting to the Prince but most of them had their heads directed to the 3rd prince. Even at a situation like this, they still haven’t forgotten one of their motives.
That’s why, while the nearby nobles greeted the 2 princes, Cale didn’t, she didn’t even bow. She was looking at the nobles in fake wonder before walking closer in front of Alberu, making sure that her body is facing him before giving him a graceful and beautiful bow. “I greet the future king of our Roan Kingdom, Crown prince Alberu” and she didn’t hesitate to give a lower bow to show her respect to the future ruler.
Violan who just arrived along with the southeastern nobles stood behind her and payed their respect to Alberu, completely disregarding the presence of the third prince. All the nobles who were secretly ignoring the crown prince are bewildered at the sight. the two Henituse had blank expression on their faces but the angle of their bows are enough indication.
‘The Henituse Family, the Golden Family has bowed to a Royal family member that is not the King.’
“You may rise” Alberu smiled brightly, almost blinding Cale, if she didn’t have a good control over her expressions, she would’ve scrunched her face by now. That smile only spells trouble. While Alberu was pleased at the chaos and shock the Henituse family has caused today, they even bowed to him! It shouldn’t be that big of a deal but the Golden Turtle has only ever bowed to the King and had never shown support to any of the princes. Now, paying respect doesn’t exactly mean they are taking his side in the fight for the throne, but it is enough to tell the nobles that the Family has already accepted him as the future king. Not only that, Cale has emphasized this by calling him the future king instead of the ‘Little sun’ title that the other nobles used to the address the sons of the King.
And one look, only one look is all it took for Alberu to finally understand the situation. Blue orbs met with mellowed reddish, brown eyes, he then knew what he should do.
“Since the Crown Prince is here, I believe that this matter should be brought to the royal court for investigation as an attempted assassination to Your Royal Highness”Violan spoke, also understanding her daughter’s intention. “The Henituse Family would also like to participate in the investigation if you would allow it, Your highness” and she purposely excluded his brother.
Really, Henituse women are both scary and amazing. Alberu thought.
“Very well, I will address this matter to my father and I’ll send a letter to you once it has been approved.” After hearing his words the two ladies bowed their head in gratitude. Then he turned to the people in the venue.
“I’m afraid the party will have to be canceled but for further investigations, we advice everyone to stay. Everyone will be monitored and examined if ever others had consumed the poison. This is a command from a member of the Royal family, tonight, every noble present here will be under temporary probation” the crown prince declared. Some wanted to protest but they also wanted to know the damn culprit who did this.
to be continued...
Notes:
before going to the Tolz Territory, Cale asked Ron to bring a few bottles of wine, when he was asked by Violan why, he said that the wine in that place is just as much of a garbage as the Tolz Viscount family.
Meanwhile Alberu was staring at the beautiful red head from the very beginning, he was curious of how will the young lady handle the situation and to be honest he was impressed.
Chapter 8: Cale the Mother of two, soon to be Three
Summary:
Not Cale being proud of her servants, Ron and Beacrox, and not Cale being a total Mother to a certain little dragon and her kits. Definitely Not.
Notes:
Hey guys, just finished my exams last week and I did my best to finish this chapter as fast as I can. Seriously, I'm not expecting a high grade but I wish I'd at least pass or my mom will go ballistic at me and confiscate my gadgets until I make up for that failing grade. at this point, I can only pray for her mercy. Sooo I'm expecting Choi Han would appear a few chapters away but I'm not sure which chapter so, surprise surprise if he suddenly appears? Honestly, my mind's not working properly after writing this in the middle of the night instead of sleeping. I just hope it turned out well.
Chapter Text
Cale is satisfied. Yes, the crown prince is not an idiot like his brother who only stood and enjoyed the power he had among the present nobles. But that is not the only reason why she is pleased. It’s because of the prince’s command, that they are forced to stay in the Tolz Territory no one is allowed to leave until they are temporarily investigated by the royal knights, mages, and doctors.
Which means she’ll have the perfect alibi.
She looked at Ron who was smiling. “Are you ready, Ron?” she asked and the old man bowed “Ready as I’ll ever be, young Lady”
The two kittens on the balcony meowed excitedly and the two humans were then on their way to one of the Tolz villas. To steal a dragon. She took Ron with her because he is a professional assassin, he can perfectly hide himself away from the knights and guards patrolling around the place. Not only that, but he is also skilled in fighting which she’ll need if she wants to infiltrate that damn prison.
it would’ve been faster if she brought Beacrox as well but she had to make sure her mother is safe, who knows what those crazy nobles might do. They might not be able to move but they can always send assassins, however, they are nothing to her Ron and Beacrox! Right, her servants are the best assassins in the world.
While she was having her time singing praises towards her two favorites(even though she won’t admit this to anyone even to herself), Ron was watching her in amusement as he stealthily move past through the guards with Cale in his arms. The young lady might be as quiet as she can be, she still has a proud look on her face as if boasting about something in her head. Should she really be having that kind of expression in a situation like this?
Well, it’s not like he minded, he preferred her this way. Amusing like a puppy.
No alarms were being here were no alarms being triggered which means the mana disturbance tool she bought from Billos is working well, she didn’t doubt his credibility one bit. Of course, her kits did a great job in hiding it somewhere near the place they’ll be infiltrating. She should praise them, they deserved to be spoiled for their hard work. But that is for another time after they finish this mission slash robbery.
“I’ll leave the guards to you, don’t kill anyone but also don’t let them follow me inside” And she’s back to her serious self.
“Understood” then he took out his dagger after placing the young lady down. He knocked out the bastards who dare raise their swords on his charge. As the numbers of the opposing side increased, Cale muttered a single word. “Fog” and fog appeared, making it easier for the assassin to attack. The lady silently walked passed the fighting with the kittens in her arms.
She entered the cave and was greeted by the torturer who was panicking and trembling in fear.
It was a pathetic sight but then again, who wouldn’t be scared about blowing up for the sake of keeping a secret? She would, anyone would. Death is the scariest thing in the world because what awaits is the unknown and humans are afraid of the unknown.
However, she has no plans of killing someone with her own hands. So, she’ll just leave it to Hong to paralyze the man. The explosion won’t be triggered this way. On turned into a human and handed the key to her. “stay here, okay? I’ll be back with your new younger sibling.” She promised and the two kids brightened at her words.
She doesn’t plan on taking too long because her kits might get in danger if anything unexpected happens. She reached the cell of the little dragon and what she saw broke her heart. The little one was breathing heavily on the floor while bleeding with multiple scars around its body along with new, fresh wounds. It made her tremble.
Cale isn’t the most compassionate being out there, but she has this spot in her heart reserved for children. It could’ve been because of his mother who took care of him with great love and adoration. Or it could be from his father who cared for his people with great passion. Or was it because of his experience as a child? A child who lost her mother and was neglected by her father?
She knew what loneliness is like, so she can relate to the little dragon in that part. But never was she tortured and treated like an animal and it makes her heart bleed even more.
Why did she even come here in the first place? To gain a powerful dragon to tame? No. Was it to take revenge on Venion Stan for bullying her precious little brother? No. Or was it to see the Stan Family fall into ruin? No. She just simply saw a little dragon in her dreams, longing to be free and longing to be happy but the chains and this prison are preventing him from doing so. He was only 3 years old, turning 4 in a few months. Goodness, he is just a baby! Cale can’t forgive that damned household for doing this, she promises herself she’ll make them regret doing this to a child.
She scooped the little one in her arms, the young dragon whined and growled when it opened its eyes and saw Cale. But Cale shushes him like a mother to her baby, bouncing her arms gently then spoke. “It’s alright, we’re getting you out of here. I promise”
The dragon still seemed wary of her intentions but he resigned to his fate because he is at his weakest at the moment. He had no choice but to let this unknown female human hold him as she make her way to where the two kittens are patiently waiting for her. The two worriedly looked at the weakly panting dragon. On meowed and Cale knew she is asking her to use the potion. “I know On but let’s wait until we’re out Okay?” and the silver cat obediently backed down.
Cale took out a small device from her spatial pocket and stuck it to one particular wall and the kittens looked at it in curiosity as a timer was set on at the center of it. 30 secs and counting. Ron arrived just in time and informed Cale of the same bomb he placed somewhere. “Good, now let’s get out of this shitty place.” the young lady was irritated and impatient at the counting timer.
Once the bomb activated they immediately ran to the tunnel. While running Cale can’t help but smirk at the success of the sticky bombs. It was initially an imperfect product she has asked Billos to find or manufacture. A type of bomb that sticks to walls and has lower power than most bombs. Billos was hesitant to give her the unfinished product out of worry that it might fail. But Cale is the type to put her full trust in the abilities of others. That’s why she is easily wary and easy to negotiate with. She knows if something is a success or an even more trash than her.
A trait she got from her father.
When they are nearing a dead end, the wall exploded again, it was the other bomb she had Ron install. They didn’t stop running until they made sure they are far away from the place, while still on the run, Cale looked down at the dragon to check his condition but she saw his widened eyes filled with wonder. He was admiring the view of the starry night sky he saw for the first time.
This made her heart squeeze.
‘Don’t worry, from now on you will never again be bounded by chains in the dark, for you are a great and mighty dragon.’ she thought.
“Welcome to the outside world, little one” she whispered which caught the dragon’s attention. His eyes which were once looking at the sky in wonder were looking at the fleeing maiden in the same manner. And for the first time since he was born…
He felt warm.

Chapter 9: Grudges
Summary:
Grudges don't die down through time especially if the damage was far too great to forget.
In which the little dragon's grudge on humans prevented him from trusting and Cale's grudge on a certain someone, ran too deep to forgive and forget.

Chapter Text
Cale placed the young dragon on a rock gently and asked Ron to take off the collar as gently as possible and the butler obliged with perfect efficiency. As it happened, the dragon only looked at Cale as if trying to read her, to see her very soul which didn’t go unnoticed by the redhead. She knelt on one knee in front of the child and held out a bottle full of red liquid. “Don’t be scared, this is a healing potion, it will take the pain away,” she said softly, holding out the bottle near the dragon as if waiting for him to initiate.
He was still wary, but this human is warm and he can sense that the liquid truly has a sense of healing. Hesitantly, he moved his head closer for the human to lift the bottle enough for him to be able to drink its contents. This was the first time he was handled with such care, it made him feel a bit tingly inside, only a bit cause he still hates humans.
Once the bottle was emptied, the potion immediately started to kick in and all the scars and wounds on his body were healed. He couldn’t help but look at himself in wonder, amazed at the effect of the liquid he had just drank. In his stupor, he lifted his head and saw the look on the red human’s face. She was smiling.
There was an ache in his heart but not the kind of ache that hurts, he didn’t mind that ache at all. “Dragons are meant to live freely, they are not supposed to be chained down nor do they bow to anyone, not even to the kings or the gods. That is how majestic you are little one. You are not meant to be tamed by those of weaker race. That is why I won’t tame you” she said, in all her sincerity.
The dragon’s eyes widened and then sharpened at the human’s words. “Lies!” he bared his fangs, he didn’t care if it alarmed the others, they are weaker than him so he has no problem taking them down.
“Instead, I want you to choose.” and yet Cale still continues. “ If you want to live freely then I won’t stop you, no one among us can. Or will you stay with us? I can’t promise you anything, because promises are meant to be broken. But I can assure you that you won’t experience the same fate ever again, for you are a great and mighty dragon. The choice is yours” she firmly said before standing up.
The dragon looked at her with conflicted eyes before turning away, glaring at the ground. “I hate humans” “and it’s alright if you do so”
“humans always lie they are evil” he mumbled. “I won’t deny that fact either”
“I won’t be tamed by humans” then his eyes met Cale’s with a firm determination and a look that every dragon should have pride.
Cale smiled at this before standing up. “Then live that way from now on,” she said before she started walking away, her three companions following behind her. “Are you sure you don’t want to take him in, Young Lady?” Ron asked.
“Yeah! You said he’ll be our new brother!” Hong pouted and Cale lifted him in her arms as a form of apology. “It’s his choice if he wants to or not. More than anything else, I want to respect his choices. But if he does change his mind... then we’ll always welcome him into the family right?” she smiled softly.
They were already far away from the dragon and Ron looked to see that it was gone. He just shrugged it off. If his lady insists then he won’t say anything anymore. “ let’s go back, Ron” He looked at the young lady he raised, come to think of it, Cale was so much like her mother, unpredictable and always looked like she knows everything. Even so, the redhead has this endearing attitude that made people annoyed and love her at the same time which is not a trait Jour nor the Count had.
“Understood, Young lady”
He should prepare more lemon tea for her once they get back. After all, it was one of the few moments he is able to predict her a hundred percent.

They got back to their room in the Tolz manor just in time to prepare before the knights call them for inspection. Violan was already there with their two servants. Surprisingly, it was the crown prince who volunteered for their inspections and Cale preferred that he did not. Seriously, she doesn’t like people like Alberu, they are cunning and more dangerous than normal, idiotic nobles. The crown prince is on a whole different level than what Cale had encountered in the high society. It’s not that she bears a grudge against him, she just doesn’t like to be close to someone like him, although if she were to pick a suitable heir to the throne, she’d pick Alberu.
“Now about the current progress with the investigation, we found three nobles who are poisoned and 5 nobles as primary suspects, since the Henituse family wants to help with the investigation, I supposed I should inform you of this information,” he said after asking them a few questions about the incident. There were two knights behind him who didn’t even react to his words, so Cale takes it that those two are personally loyal to the crown prince.
“I have also called the King and informed him of what happened. He said that he will think about your involvement and will see the result of the investigation once I get back to the palace.” and yet he already disclosed the information to them. This prince… is currying favor, no, he wants an alliance, a temporary one.
Cale glanced at Ron and held out her hand. “Ron.” and the old butler took out a small folder from the spatial bag Cale had given him. He handed it to the young lady who gingerly took out the papers inside and skimmed it a bit before handing it to the crown prince. The other knight took it and handed it in return to Alberu.
“Unfortunately it’s not that big but I would really appreciate it if these two people are gone, surely you will also benefit from this. If this gets known, it’ll be a ripple effect to the people they are siding with.” Violan was silently looking down while her daughter does the talking.
A bright smile appeared on the prince’s face after reading the papers, happy to agree to this proposition. On the list are evidence against two nobles, one was a direct acquaintance of his brother while the other was an underling of the Stan family. Just removing these two will do great damage to the reputation of his two enemies. Although, he wonders what benefit does the Henituse household get from this.
“you see, Your highness, I have unsettled business with the Stan Family and your brother’s little friend also happened to cause a bit of a scene back at our territory approximately 2 years ago.” The red-haired young lady said casually, waving her hand as she spoke.
The golden-haired prince raised a brow at the mention of his brother’s ‘friend’. “Oh? Is it that bad that you wanted them gone?” he thought the guy must’ve caused a ruckus that ticked the young lady turned young master. From the information he pieced together after the commotion, he figured that Cale was just dutifully eliminating the gangsters and thugs in their territory while pretending to be a drunk bastard wreaking havoc wherever he goes.
“He tried to make a deal with one of the bars to smuggle illegal drugs and slaves into our territory.”
Huh?
“Huh?”
Despite the disbelief on the crown prince’s face, Cale continued “The smuggling was prevented immediately and the bar was shut down with its owner arrested. But that guy is really annoying, y’know? When we filed a complaint against him, he used a flimsy excuse about being sick with a disease and needed to be excused from any trial we want him to go under. Seems that his parents are unaware of their son’s escapades and side with him in the matter, even daring to file a complaint against us. Of course, they were intimidated rather immediately but the bastard was able to get away. When the count confronted their family directly, he refused to take responsibility and called our family ‘a lowly county’. this cost them to lose connection with the Henituse Territory and he still boasted that they can survive without the supplies we provide them with.” she snorted and he grimaced at the guy’s idiocy.
“seems that he was so proud of being one of the third prince’s close confidants, that he started thinking he now ruled the world.” Violan said with a calm voice but Alberu can sense the distaste in it. “it’s not that we are accusing your brother of being the one behind this, in fact, we believe that he is rather oblivious of his ‘friend’s’ actions. Which is rather disappointing knowing that he is favored by the King. He must’ve been too spoiled by the king and queen that made him think that nothing will ever go wrong as they said, birds with the same feather, flocks together.” her daughter chuckled at her words.
She looked at the crown prince who now has a calculating expression on his face, “If he can’t be intimidated by a ‘mere county’, then we hoped a royalty would do the trick, your highness.” Violan spoke the very reason why they approached him about the matter. “truthfully we didn’t expect him to do something like this in a party full of high ranking nobles. But we seized the opportunity once our informant found out that it was him who planned the poisoning.”
“I can see your point, it’s not a bad deal as well since both parties will benefit, although I’m still doing all the hard work…” He turned his gaze from the paper to the mother and daughter duo. While Violan smiled at his words, Cale grimaced in her mind. ‘This is the reason why I don’t like people like him!’
“Of course, we already prepared for that.” The countess gestured for Ron and the old butler nodded, calling for their maid outside who was carrying a tray of three scrolls. “Our territory is heavily guarded and we don’t really accept guests unless the Count allows their entry. So we prepared the special permit with his signature.”
The maid bowed to Alberu while holding out the scrolls. The royal knight took the tray and did a quick inspection of the contents before giving it to Alberu. “Each scroll can only be used one time, either through the gate or the Henituse mansion.”
The little sun was obviously pleased with the payment. The Henituse territory might be known to have open arms for commoners or those in need but the same cannot be said for nobles. The count only permits a few families to enter his domain, let alone his home. The security is tight and strict. Not to mention the County’s knights are comparable to the Royal Family’s Royal Knights.
It is for that reason that it was named the home of the Golden Turtle. Full of riches and guarded by a strong, unbreakable shell.
“It’s a pleasure doing business with you both, Countess Violan and Young Lady Cale.” with a pleasant smile on his face, he stood up and the two ladies followed. “We’ll contact you for more progress,” he said and the countess smiled and bowed with her daughter before exiting the room.
“It seems that we don’t have a choice but to stay at the inn in that small village, I’d rather not stay in a place like this,” Violan said as they headed to their room. Their 2 servants bowed and went ahead of them to prepare their luggage. “come now, Cale.” she turned to her daughter who was looking somewhere. She followed the direction of her gaze with curiosity only to be dismayed when she saw one of the Stan Young Masters, Venion Stan, looking back at Cale in a disgusting way.
Was he… attracted to Cale?!
“Cale.” She called out once again to snap her daughter out of her one-sided glaring competition with the bastard Stan. The said boy was about to speak until Cale beat him to it.
“Don’t think that I have forgotten what you did 7 years ago, Venion Stan.” She said in a cold tone that Violan never heard before. “Such a shame it wasn’t you who instigated the poisoning, I would’ve enjoyed watching you drown in humiliation.”
She turned around, not even sparing a glance to see the young master’s reaction and neither did Violan, they walked together in silence and tension. Ron was following them behind like a dutiful butler, Beacrox was watching over them from afar. The kittens are awaiting their return and a certain invisible Dragon follows the redhead with a scowl on his face, hating the fact that he had to meet the bastard who hurt him too early than he’d like. Although he is pleased to see that he wasn’t the only one who hates him.
If this warm human also hates that rat then it wouldn’t be a problem to stick around her right?
Notes:
Alberu is thinking of visiting the dark forest using the permits but he may or may not visit the county once if he had the time.
(it is certainly not because he is curious about the Young Lady, definitely not, not at all)
Chapter 10: Neutrality and a Sleeping Walking Cale

Chapter Text
Alberu was a prince, the crown prince of the Roan Kingdom. He is like the sun that shines bright, he was benevolent and kind to his people but at the same time cold to those who oppose him. Among the princes, he is the most capable, no one can deny that. And yet why is it that there are only a few noble supporters in his faction?
Cale lifts up his hand with three fingers up. “there are three reasons. First and foremost, the main reason why is because his mother is but a maid in the palace whom the king fancied for her beauty. Since nobles are prideful, they can’t accept a prince with commoner origins to rule over them. This is related to the second reason which is the queen’s influence as someone from a noble family, she supports the third prince along with the king, so naturally, most of the nobles supported him as well even though he is less competent than the Crown Prince. But of course, this is related to the third reason as well.” he stood up from his seat and approached the window with a glass of wine in his hand.
“It’s because the third prince is less competent than the crown prince who is hard to control, the nobles wanted a ruler whom they can easily manipulate.” Basen continued and his Hyung turned to him with a satisfied smile. “Correct.” and it made him happy.
“ up until now, the crown prince Alberu who had a small noble backing and had commoner origins was able to control the greedy nobles and keep them at bay. And ever since he was a child, the only flaw they can find in him is his commoner blood. This just proves how much of a threat he is to them. But even with a capable prince like him, why do you think the neutral faction still decides to not show support?” he asked and this time, the boy was conflicted.
He can come up with many reasons but his Hyung is the type to ask for only one definite answer when it comes to these small studies between the two of them. “is…is it because we’re neutral?” Basen answered, unsure and the redhead laughed. “Exactly!”
“each noble from the neutral faction have more than enough power to shake the balance in the fight for the throne. But each household has its own reasons for staying neutral, we don’t know each and every one of their reason because there are too many to cover up, that is why they are neutral. They could be looking for something in an heir or don’t like something in all of the princes, maybe it is personal or just a decision on their part, we will never know. And we like to keep it that way, because if one of the members of the royal family finds out our true reason for being neutral, then they’ll do anything to comply with this to have us on their side. To make us ‘not neutral’. It is for that reason that we don’t interact with royalties, we join parties that have less probability of them attending. We don’t take sides in fights between the princes. We kept quiet” He explained and Basen looked at him in awe at his understanding and at the new knowledge he had gained.
Even after studying under those many tutors, not one can be as good as his Hyung. He spent 8 hours a day learning from them and the knowledge he gained from them cannot amount to the knowledge he gained after a 1-hour study session with his brother.
One of the cats meowed and raised her paws, it was On. “What is it?”
“Cale-Nya, what if one of the princes started acting all friendly? What if people misunderstood?” the silver cat asked and the redhead young master seemed amused by her question. “Just let them be of course. It’s not like we are really friends with them nor can we tell everyone about the truth behind their actions, they are still royalty, after all, exposing them would be no different from humiliating them in public. Being under their factions means we are willing to be used as vassals by the particular prince we chose. But even if they acted friendly with us, that won’t change anything. So the best way is to just let it be but if they ever step over the line, it is only natural to take proper action.” He answered nonchalantly before taking a sip from his wine and sighing with a pleased smile on his face. Nothing better than drinking wine peacefully.
“Young master, this Ron brought you lemon tea.” that is until this old jerk showed up with a cup of his most hated drink.
He looked at the benignly smiling man with a frown. “You really have a way to ruin my peace Ron” and yet he still took the abominable thing in his hands, gulping it all in one go before refreshing his taste buds with his wine. “Bleggh!”
“That’s quite an ungraceful expression Cale.” they all turned to the newly arrived person, Countess Violan with her servants but the person being told to just shrugged his shoulders. “Any news about the investigation?”
“As expected the King didn’t allow our participation but with all the evidence we have given to the crown prince, he allowed us to be present in the trial as a victim. The slimy bastard won’t be able to escape now.” the countess informed and the redhead was satisfied.

“Father” Beacrox approached the old assassin who was walking down the hall in the middle of the night. “What happened?” he asked while looking at the woman in his father’s arms. It was Cale, sleeping peacefully.
“The Young Lady slept walk to the late countess’ garden.” the two walked in silence towards Cale’s room. Beacrox looked at his father before looking at the redhead. “That’s not the only thing that happened, I presume?”
After all, his father had a deep frown on his face. The old butler turned at his son but didn’t answer, remembering the bastard who was holding the young lady when he arrived at the garden.
Le flashback
It wasn’t new to see the young lady sleepwalking in the middle of the night. It would happen once or twice a month and her usual destination would either be the library or the garden of the late Countess. Ron was just following his charge when he caught a couple of servants having a sweet night walk. After telling them to go back to their room, he headed towards the garden only to see a hooded figure holding a sleeping Cale.
He was immediately alerted of any possible threat this person is to his lady. If he dares to do anything, this old man won’t hesitate to spill blood. But then looking at the figure who didn’t seem to feel his presence, the person seemed flustered but that wasn’t enough for Ron to lower his guard. “May this old man know who is the stranger holding young lady Cale?” he asked and the figure jumped in surprise, but it didn’t say anything, just looked at Ron in wary. Judging from their physique, this stranger must be a man and a powerful fighter based on the aura he omits. But there is something about the man, something that feels familiar to Ron.
Normally, most people would ask these kinds of strangers to hand over the hostage before telling them to state their purpose. But Ron is the no-nonsense type especially when it came to the safety of his charge. He didn’t hesitate to throw two daggers at high speed toward the bastard holding the fragile young lady. The man was able to avoid them, barely. And in his moment of shock, the woman in his arms was long gone and was now being held carefully by the same butler who threw those daggers at him.
“Hmm, this presence of yours is familiar,” Ron confessed.
It was dark and had the same feeling as dead mana. This person is either a necromancer or a dark elf but based on the elementals surrounding him, he can conclude that surely, this man in front of him is a dark elf. Necromancers are already long extinct thanks to the church of the sun god, not to mention the Henituse Territory does not really follow the prejudice against the existence of Dark elves because of their close proximity to the dark forest. There will always be creatures of the dark that they are bound to meet.
If they met in any other normal circumstances, Ron would’ve ignored them but this was not an ordinary meeting. This dark elf dared to touch Young Lady Cale, whether their intentions are good or not, Ron will kill anyone who has seen her in such a state without the lady’s permission. Only a few people are allowed to see her in this state and this stranger is certainly not one of them.
“Tell me, why is a dark elf here in the Henituse Mansion?” the elf flinched when the old man was able to identify his race. Ron was about to speak more but another figure came, another dark elf, and pulled out a scroll, a teleportation scroll. Ripping it apart and activating it.
The butler frowned at the disappearance of the intruder. He still needed to interrogate that guy for whatever else he did to Cale but then he felt his charge shiver in his hold. Ron looked at the spot where the intruder stood for a few moments before walking inside the mansion.
Whoever he is, Ron will surely find him and maybe, just maybe, rip off a limb or two.
Le flashback ends
“There was a rat that dared to come near the Young lady and was able to escape with a fellow rat.” a dark smile appeared on his face before he sped up his phase, his master is getting cold.
Cale woke up that morning with a smiling Ron standing by the door, holding a stray with a huge ass glass of lemon juice.
“WTF Ron!!” is this how you must treat your master?
Notes:
Can you guess who the guy is? ^o^ <3 I'll make a scene for them later don't worry hihihi.

So if things don't add or align with the novel then just think of it as part of my fanfiction since I'm dedicating this to Og! Cale because I want him to receive the love he deserves.
Chapter Text
Calling Cale a worrywart would be an overstatement. He might look like he put too much thought into every move he makes when in truth he doesn’t, perks of being a genius of some sort when it comes to strategizing. He is not the type of person who has everyone’s personal information ready before he meets them, he won’t even bat an eye at someone unless they can affect his life and his family. He is the type to do small things that can make big impacts, to hell with all the difficult stuff when he can just make it easier.
Even now, when he is destined to get beaten up, he just decided to shop around the village with his kids. He just couldn’t be bothered when he knew the reason why he got beaten up in one of those visions. The man he was about to meet just lost his family and he dared to insult them in front of the grieving man. However, what he didn’t understand was why he just insulted the dead? He might be an asshole but he knows how to respect the people who just passed thank you very much.
Some things don’t add up but Cale put it at the back of his head right now, he’d like to enjoy his time with his kids before he meets his supposed attacker. So far everything is going well as it should be. His kids are eating with smiles on their faces, Ron is quietly drinking tea and Hans was fawning over kittens, although Hilsman is stiff it’s all good. Until he felt the inkling sign of transforming. “Ron!”
Just one call and the old man took out a bag out of nowhere and guided the young master to change. Once they got back to the group, Cale was now in her female form wearing a long dress with flower print designs at the hems. When she was seated, Ron began tying her hair into a high ponytail. while all of that transpired, people couldn’t help but stare in awe. It wasn’t new to witness the young master transform, or rather, it wasn’t new for them to witness the young master disappear only to come back as a young lady. It was still fascinating even if they did not witness the transformation itself.
Cale had always strolled around their territory like a free soul. Although drunk sometimes, they still felt a sense of pride when the young lady enjoys her time buying or looking at their stores. Sometimes with the kittens or with her servants or just herself alone.
And it always left them in awe, Cale’s beauty is just so out of this world. Of course, Cale is already beautiful as a man but also handsome at the same time. As a woman, she lost all the masculinity and her feminine features boosted that beauty. That’s why everywhere she goes, she will inevitably turn heads and capture hearts. Maybe Cale was really destined to become a woman.
“I like this cafe, their strawberry shortcake is comparable to the ones Beacrox makes.” it was just a simple comment she told Ron because she is always used to telling him her opinion on things, whether she likes something or detests something or wants to punch something, she tells Ron. The old man can be encouraging if he finds no problem but he can also stop Cale from doing anything stupid.
“I see, then I will tell the manager. Will you come back here again on your next stroll Young Lady Cale?” Ron asked for confirmation.
Cale gave a short nod, “next time I should bring Basen and Lily, those two need to relax every once in a while” she said before standing up, taking the kittens in her arms. “Tell them to reserve the VIP room by then”
Ron bowed, “Yes, Young lady” with that she exited the Cafe with a pleased glow around her which indicates that she did have a good time at the Cafe. Just then she heard the manager thanking her loudly from the inside of the establishment. Seems like he was happy that the young lady complimented their shop.
A few minutes and Ron was walking beside her as she watch the kitten look at stall after stall and stopped at one that sells flowers. “You should learn how to make tea from them Ron” she whispered with a cheeky smile on her face towards her butler since childhood. The benign smile widened on the old butler’s face and he whispered back. “Seems like this Ron have been neglecting your daily lemon tea, young lady, for you recommend another’s tea to this old man.” with that Cale frowned.
“tsk, when are you ever gonna stop with that blasted tea?” she grumbled
“it’s good for your health, young lady.”
“well, it’s not good for my taste buds.”
On meowed which caught their attention, they saw Hans approaching them with a flower crown steadily placed on his hands, the kitten was on his shoulder and Hong was tapping her boots. “I think the kittens want to give this to you, Young lady” Hans said nervously.
She looked at On and the kitten meowed once again while gesturing towards the flower crown which they must’ve bought from the stall. Then her gaze met Ron and he took the crown from Hans and carefully placed it on top of her head. Her kits meowed happily and she could feel a bit of weight on her back.
‘it’s looks good on you, human!’ the cheerful voice of the dragon rang in her head and she couldn’t help but smile. Ah yes, this is fine, even if there is lemon tea, at least she is happy with the people she loves.
While smiling, Cale didn’t notice the infatuated and flushed expressions thrown her way.
Coincidentally on their walk, they passed by the gate, and there she saw the same man in her vision. The guards are very strict with entry because the Count trusted them on doing so. She can’t fault them for denying the man entry for he had no identification card but she needed to meet the man at least, there is a reason why he was present in her vision and she must find out why.
“what’s going on here?” she approached them with Ron behind her. She instructed Hans and Hilsman to head to the carriage.
The guards were startled at the presence of their young lady and immediately bowed to pay respect. “Greeting Young Lady Cale, we're sorry if we have disturbed your walk but you see this man wanted to see the Count to report about the death of his family but he had no identification card.” one of the guards explained and she hummed, already knowing that fact.
Her eyes turned to the young man who was oddly staring at her. “You there” she called, startling the young man. “where are you from? And why don’t you have an identification card? Our territory values the lives of the citizens that why identities need to be examined thoroughly before given permission to enter.” she explained.
“... assassins…” Ron’s eyes sharpened a bit at the word while Cale rose a brow. “my village was massacred by assassins… everyone’s…dead”
The guards visibly broke into cold sweat at the information. “I-Is that the truth?” one of them asked and the young man nodded.
“I left in the morning and when I came back it was almost sunset and everyone was dead, I tried to fight some of the assassins but they escaped” he explained with a voice that’s quiet but full of dread.
Cale crossed her arms, not liking where this is heading.” and what’s the name of your village?”
The young man looked at her before answering. “Harris Village.”
With that memories flood in Cale’s mind, memories she wanted to forget, memories that she hid in the back of her mind to rot.
‘Mama don’t go!’
‘it is already set in stone Cale, this is my destiny.’
‘the countess is missing!!’
‘I love you, my dear child’
‘we’ve searched everywhere but we couldn’t find her’
‘Don’t worry Cale, father will find her’
‘We found her sire…. her body’
‘ …in the Harris Village.’
‘my soul will be left in the place where I die’
‘Harris Village’
“Young Lady Cale are you alright.” she went back to reality when Ron patted her shoulder, she was sweating and unconsciously biting her lower lip. “Ron… get the carriage ready, I must go see the father.” she weakly turned around and started walking before turning to point at the Young Man. “And you are going with us.”
Chapter 12: Choi Han #2
Notes:
HEY HEY HEY my beautiful readers! sorry to disappear on you guys for a long time, the truth is, the week after I updated, I got really sick to the point I have to be sent to a hospital. So yeah! Things got pretty bad afterward. I've been locking myself in my room and refusing to even look at my social media accounts. I kept on thinking negative thoughts, every time I make a mistake I just couldn't stop thinking about it. I'm an introvert and I've been doing my best to become more sociable and outgoing, but after I got hospitalized it just feels like I went back to square one. I'm sorry I had to rant this here, I just thought you guys needed an explanation about my absence but I've talked to my best friend and everything's been going okay after that. Just so that everyone knows, I'll try my best to update weekly just like before.
I hope you guys enjoy <3

Chapter Text
Deruth was in his office doing his usual paper works, he had thought today would be peaceful because his spoiled child had been docile for the past few weeks. By docile he meant no barging in his office asking for his money, no impromptu trips to dangerous places, no barging in his office to complain to him or because of him, and no Cale whining and throwing tantrums in the house. Yes, it was ‘peaceful’ and his eldest child was not causing him trouble, stress, or headaches. He wished the peace would last but no, the world doesn’t agree with him.
Because just as he was about to sigh in the calm atmosphere of his office, the doors were slammed open and he already knew it was Cale, only Cale slams his door harsh enough for the sound to echo. Thoughts and guesses passed his mind about what it is that Cale wanted this time. Will she ask him for more money again or complain to him about something or because of something he has done? Deruth will know once he looks at her face, however, the look on her face made him wish this was just like her usual tantrums.
Fear, sadness, despair, and exhaustion can be seen on her face, and in her eyes. And Deruth was instantly walking towards her in quick strides, his daughter looked like she was about to collapse. “F-Fathe-” she stumbled on her feet, fortunately, he was there to catch her in time. “Father-”
“you need to sit first and calm down,” he said, trying to soften his voice, and give her even the slightest of comfort with it. He guided Cale to one of the sofas and Ron came with a glass of water. The redhead gulped it down before inhaling deeply. While his daughter is composing herself, Deruth eyes turned to the people that came with Cale. There were the kittens who looked worried, Hans who was carrying them was confused at what was happening, Ron had a frown on his face and it deepens when he looks at the unfamiliar black-haired man who looked to be the same age as Cale.
A grip on his wrist caught his attention, so he then turned to Cale who now had a braver face than what she had moments ago. “Father” she called, voice still shaking a bit but strong. “This young man came to the gates of our territory without an identification card.” Deruth rose a brow at her words, not understanding the purpose of her saying that and then bringing the man here.
“And? Did he do something for you to come straight to me?” he asked, knowing his daughter, that she won’t come to him unless she needed his assistance and Cale had always handled herself well. If someone disrespects her, she either ignores them or deals with them, if someone is causing trouble in the territory, she does her best to deal with it herself to not trouble her father.
“I’d like to request for father to send men to investigate Harris Village” At those words, Deruth was given a bit of understanding about the situation.
Cale had always been bitter about the village but she didn’t hate the people in it. What she hated was the fact that her mother died there. The mere mention of the village was enough for Cale to shut her mouth and keep quiet lest she’ll be saying things she might regret. The young Henituse had always been compassionate towards their land and the people in it, she eliminates threats and those who will dare defile her sacred home, and it’s the same feeling if ever she says something particularly hurtful about her people and she doesn’t want that.
“and I request some of your men to investigate the assassination that has occurred there.”
The Count flinched at the word. Assassins?
In his territory?
In his land?
On his people?
The look on Deruth’s face was enough for the kittens to look away in fear.
He turned to his butler and, with a booming voice, ordered him to arrange for several people to go to Harris for a burial and an investigation. The butler bowed and immediately complied. “Cale” he turned to his daughter who was still looking at him.
“I believe you should rest, go back to your room,” he said in a much calmer tone.
“Before that, I’d also like to go to Harris Village with the only survivor…” then she turned to the unknown man. “…what’s your name again?” she asked and the man was still looking down since he came here. “Choi…han” he answered
“right, I’d like to accompany Choi Han to his village,” she said with a tone of finality, she was even asking and so Deruth, the ever weak father to his children sighed and nodded his head.” very well, I’ll have Captain Hilsman escort you along with Ron and Hans”
Cale accepted this and exited the office after thanking her father. The kittens jumped into her arms and were trying to comfort her, she can also feel the same from the dragon who was clinging to her back like a koala.
“thank you” They all turned towards Choi han who was looking now, he hadn’t met eyes with anyone since he came to the estate.
The redhead was examining the boy from head to toe before turning to Ron. “Ron, can you take care of our guest and prepare him a room while he stays here?”
“ As you wish my lady” the old man bowed with a benign smile on his face, but that disappeared once he turned to Choi han. Cale nodded at both of them before turning to head to her room and remembering something. ‘Oh and treat his ankle as well.” and with that, she went on her way.
Ron watched his charge in amusement while Choi han was looking at his aching ankle then looked at the retreating back on Cale. A feeling was building up in the pit of his stomach and it should’ve been unpleasant, but it isn’t.
“Stop that you punk” his moment was then interrupted by this old man that had been glaring at him from start.
“Stop what?”
“Stop looking at the lady like that, she has a much higher standing than you do…” Ron started heading to where the guests “don’t even think of making a move on her.”
Choi Han blinked at the old man’s words, irritated but also confused at what he meant. Why would he be making a move on the young lady he is grateful for?
Once everyone exited the room and he was left alone, Deruth pondered as he look at his land outside the window. Rain City is heavily guarded and protected by sturdy walls. But he had a feeling this won’t be enough to protect his people, what could? No matter how strong the walls are, they crumble, no matter how it is, they can still be infiltrated. No matter how much his men train, they’ll still bear weaknesses. Because humans are imperfect, everything humans make is imperfect.
If assassins attacked a village near Rain City, then just simply means danger is coming. Deruth has no way of knowing how dangerous it would be, but just in case… “We need to strengthen our walls.”
He simply said.
Night came and Ron had finished attending to the bastard whom his charge invited to the estate. He didn’t like the smell nor the aura around this man, he will only pose a threat to the young lady. It feels like death.
But he does not have to worry for long. By the time the burial is finished and the investigation is done on the punk, he won’t be Cale’s responsibility anymore which means, Ron won’t not be inclined to kill and torture the punk.
Lady Cale is only 18 years old, until she become of age suitable for marriage, this Ron will eliminate any man who will try to seduce the lady!
Notes:
Note: 16 is the legal age for noble women to get married while 5 is the legal age for an arranged marriage.

Chapter Text
Tomb after tomb filled the village of Harris that was once Choi Han’s home, the Count’s people are cleaning up and some of the investigators are checking the houses. While he stands in front of his family’s tombs with the beautiful young master Cale Henituse beside him, looking morose and quiet. He had heard people saying that the young master is odd and ill-tempered but meeting the magical man himself had opened Choi Han’s eyes.
“Again, I can’t thank you enough for your kindness.” he continued thanking him even when they were already back in the Henituse Mansion. The redhead nodded, the focus was on the lemon tea he is sipping while making a few sour faces at each sip. When he reached about half, he placed the cup down and looked the black-haired young man in the eye. “So, what do you plan on doing now?”
This made Choi Han think, right now he is no one with nothing compared to the beautiful redhead in front of him, so what exactly can he offer him? “I’m asking what you’d like to do from now on, not how would you repay me,” Cale spoke as if he can read what was Choi Han thinking. “I’m not a mind reader, you just look like the type of person to do such naive things,” he said again and the Korean was convinced he can actually read his mind.
“Is wanting to repay someone’s kindness naive?” The taller man asked and Cale hummed. “It can be if you’re not careful, some people can just take advantage of you.”
“I believe the young master is not the kind of person who will take advantage of someone,” Choi Han said, the young master snickered but it was not mocking kind. “You really are naive, Choi Han.”
The Korean perked up at the mention of his name from the beautiful noble’s lips. “Since you insist, how about becoming my bodyguard?” Cale offered and took out a map. “ in a few days, I’ll be embarking on the journey to the Capital for a gathering proposed by Roan’s Crown Prince. All you have to do is to protect me and my servants on the way there. Once everything is done and I have finally arrived home from the Capital, you can choose what you’ll do from then on” he explained
Choi Han perked up at his last words, “Then I’ll-” Cale lifted up a hand to stop the swordsman from speaking any further. “It’s still too early for you to decide. Make your decision after our journey from the capital, do not make any hasty decision based on short interactions.” the redhead sternly warned the taller man who seemed to have grown dog ears and tail, drooping as he looked down with a sad look in his eyes.
“I’m saying this not because I don’t want you around, this is a lesson you must learn, Choi Han, you need to assess both the person and the situation first. Don’t just naively believe a person’s words on biased terms just because the person showed you a little kindness. Think about my words carefully so you won’t be taken advantaged of in the future.” Cale lectured the young man while proceeding to sneakily pour the last bits of lemon tea on a nearby plant.
“...You mustn’t waste lemon, Young master, the Old butler will surely bring you more.” at his words, the young master clearly stiffens before looking at him. “…You won’t tell him right?”
Silence enveloped the room as the two stared at each other, Choi Han then smiled, the innocent smile gave the redhead slight reassurance until… “I won’t know if lemons are required for your health, you did say I need to assess the situation first so… I’m sorry Cale-nim.” Choi Han said almost too sweetly for Cale’s taste.
Cale blankly stared at the still innocently smiling Korean and regretted giving him that pep talk just now.
‘is it really the pep talk or is Choi Han not as naive as I thought he would?’ he asked himself.
The very same night, his butler and his newly appointed bodyguard are having a death match, even his cook joined in while he is sleeping peacefully in his room, completely unaware of the silent commotion outside the mansion.
“Have a safe trip, noonim.” Basen was the first to speak as the family bid the eldest child goodbye, their youngest was hiding behind the matriarch before running towards her unnie. “come back safely, unnie” and gave her a hug around her waist.
“If you ever need anything, do not hesitate to contact us and if you ever need extra money you can use your silver plaque at the bank to withdraw as much as you want. “ the Count smiled at his daughter who looked really fluffy right now.
Violan stepped up with a small smile on her face. “if some troublesome things happen, just do as you’ve always done up until now, me and your father will take care of the aftermath.” the young lady visibly brightened up at her permission wreak havoc as she sees fit.
She felt a weight on her back and she instantly knew it was the baby dragon clinging unto her, she nodded her head towards her family and entered the carriage only to stop mid-step when the occupants inside came to view. “What the hell?” she raised a brow. “why is their seat better than mine?” she pointed at the two kittens sitting on a comfy pillow that Hans put for them.
“Young Lady~” Hans cooed closely at the kittens who backed away a bit from the overly doting butler. “ our precious kittens are just so cute and precious~! shouldn’t they be comfortable along the trip?” he fawned over them and didn’t notice how his words annoyed the redhead.
“what do the fuck do you mean by ours? I don’t plan on fucking sharing custody over those cats! They’re mine!! now get out of the carriage!” she pulled Hans out and the butler was disoriented for a while.
“eh? B-But who will attend to you for the whole ride?” he asked nervously and became confused when the Young Lady looked at him blankly, now sitting inside the carriage elegantly. “Hans” she called, why does she sound a bit disappointed?
“Y-Yes?” Hans couldn’t help but straighten up.
“how old am I?” she asked
Hans tilted his head at that. “The Young Lady is already 18 years old?”
Then she pointed at him. “And how old are you?” she asked
“I’m 24 years old?” he was confused as to why she was asking this but he answered nonetheless.
Cale was still blankly looking at him until moments passed and realization started forming in his mind followed by a red hue that rose to cover his face. ‘M-My Apologies!! Young L-Lady! I will move to the servant’s carriage!!” and he went running, leaving an amused Cale and a confused Choi Han. The Korean man turned to Cale with an oblivious blank face and the red sighed at this.
“It’s unethical for a Noble lady who is at a marriageable age to stay in one room alone with a man. ” she simply explained. Although it was a bullshit custom that the Roan Nobles still follow, Cale doesn’t mind using it as an excuse to be alone with her kids. Understanding washed upon the young man and for some reason, he also started blushing, albeit not as badly as Hans was a moment ago.
“wait… don’t tell me you we’re also planning to ride inside the carriage with him?” as the red hue brighten on Choi Han’s face, the more amused Cale became.
“ well now that you know, go and ride with the knights.” she pointed at the Henituse knights who had their horses ready for the journey. The young man bashfully nodded before going to his designated horse.
“then I will be sitting with the driver up top” Cale almost jumped when Ron appeared out of nowhere. She eyed the butler wryly then waved her hand to dismiss him.
She closed the door and sighed tiredly, they haven’t even left yet and she is already this tired? Why are the Henituse servants so tiring? Her eyes went towards the two kids who are looking at her with sparkling eyes, purring up a storm while rubbing their adorable furry bodies on her side. Now that’s weird. Do they want something? “what do you want?”
The two meowed happily, “We are Cale’s!” “That right! And Cale-nya is ours!” they happily chirped as they climb up to her lap to nuzzle even more. “what in world is going on in those tiny heads of yours?” cale asked, not really expecting any answer as she adjusted her legs to make the kittens comfortable.
“We’re Cale’s kids~nya!” “We will protect Cale-nya!!” at this, Cale chuckled. “Shouldn’t it be me who’s protecting you?” the two meowed in strong opposition and the black dragon finally spoke.
‘You’re a weak human! This great and mighty dragon is enough to protect you! Even the cute cats are stronger than weak human!’ the young one said, landing on the seat beside her, letting himself be seen as he stared at the red human with childish insistence in his eyes. As if he is convinced that Cale can’t really protect herself.
“That’s right!” Hong chimed. “Cale nya is weak!” On followed and Cale could only chuckle at their insistence.

Chapter 14: What was suppose to be
Summary:
SOOOOooooo, a bit of angst and dark themes, I'm definitely not regretting this because Cale sounded so badass in my mind, I just had a problem with trying to describe it. This is rushed, cause I'm sleepy, and yet I still decided to do this when I just finished exams. I'm drained and I still wrote this, I'll post another fluff chapter after this as fast as I can because I need my emotional therapy.

Chapter Text
Before departure:
The Henituse Family rushed to the capital once a message came from the royal palace that a bombing incident occurred during the celebration. This wasn’t any ordinary explosion because if it was, all the members of the family wouldn’t be speeding their way to the royal capital. No. They had another reason to go there.
Once they have arrived at the palace, the servants welcomed them and guided them toward one of the rooms. There are other noble families present as well, some were grieving and some were angry. Inside the room they entered, there were at least 4 priests tending to the person on the bed. Once every member of the family caught sight of that person, they all felt dread.
Violan, who paled and fell on her knees, had tears in her eyes as she call out for her child.
Deruth, stood frozen but still trembling, was biting his lower lip until it bled.
Lily, the youngest, felt her stomach churn and her blood run cold as tears fall one after the other.
And lastly,
Cale, who was the first to run towards her brother who was lying on the bed terrifyingly still, started crying out for him. She went to hold one of his hands, the hand that was still intact. “B-Basen!” she looked at him hopefully as his fingers twitched in her hold.
Her family snapped out of their horrified state and approached the two of them. Violan’s trembling hands came to join her children’s, and in a softer voice, she spoke. “Basen? M-my child?” she choked out.
Slowly, his eyes started to open and his gaze fell upon his family who still didn’t feel the slightest relief even when he was still alive. But his gaze stopped towards his elder sister who looked the most scared, also the one who is holding his hand tightly as if he’ll die if she let go. “N-Noo-n-nim- he grimaced when he felt pain all over his body as blood dripped out of his mouth.
“H-Hey, It’s fine, you don’t have to speak. J-Just relax, Basen!” Cale said, pleadingly. “e-everything will be alright” she sobbed as her hand reached out to pat his head but it only made the young man cry.
“I-I s-sor-rry-” he tried to say only to cough up blood
“N-No Don’t speak! T-There’s nothing to be sorry about, I-I’m the one who should be sorry. I-hic* If I had just agreed to go instead of you t-then this wouldn’t have happened to you.” Cale’s lips trembled as she spoke.
And tears rolled down even more when her brother smiled at her, as if telling her that it was good she didn’t come. That he’d rather be hurt. That it was good she didn’t end up like this.
Even in a state like this. His left arm was missing, he had burns all over one side of his body from head to toe and one of his legs had bones showing. She didn’t understand, why didn’t her visions appear to warm her about this outcome.
From what Ron told her, more than half of the attendees died and most of the remaining got severely injured, even the fourth prince lost a leg. Such a disaster. Most of all, her brother, her precious baby brother who she sacrificed for.
She spent 7 years protecting Basen from the Henituse officials who were against the Marriage of Violan and Deruth. She spent 7 years protecting him from the nobles who were trying to harm him. She spent 7 years of her life in loneliness and sleepless nights, just to protect her family, only for this thing to happen.
This will forever be engraved in her heart, in her memory, and in her record. She will not forgive nor forget the ones who did this. She will make them suffer and make them wish they were dead.
Yeah.
She will hunt them down.
As she walks down the hall toward the office of the king.
She will chase them unto the ends of the world.
The knights guarding the door stopped her but flinched at the look in her eyes,
And once she finally caught them…
The deadly look in her eyes.
She will torture them, starting from burning them…
The butler behind her stopped them from attacking her.
…then she will pull out every limb, starting from each toe, to every finger, to each leg then each arm…
The butler was the king’s personal butler. And so the guards reluctantly let lowered their weapons.
… after that, she will have them healed into their former state….
The door opened and she entered.
… only to make them go through another torture.
Inside the office was the king himself and the Crown Prince.

“Young Lady Cale?” The Crown prince Alberu looked at her warily, she doesn’t blame him, based on how the knights reacted, she must’ve looked murderous. She stared at him for a while before taking out a small figurine of a golden turtle and placing it on the table in front of the Crown Prince.
“This is the Henituse Family Token” Alberu’s eyes widened as his eyes, that was on the token, eyed her. “From now on, our humble family is at your disposal, Your Royal highness,” she said as it was the most normal thing to say to a royal.
Without waiting for the flabbergasted prince to speak, she turned to look the King in the eye. “The Henituse family will also dispatch our most talented assassins and informants to search for the ones who poisoned the former Empress Aliah Crossman.” Both royals flinched but once he recovered, Alberu stood up, about to demand an explanation from the noble lady. However, the king lifted his hand to stop him.
He calmly looked at the Henituse Young Lady who looked exactly like his dear friend, Jour Henituse. Even when Jour was a man, she had always been mysterious, and every time he looks into her eyes, it always felt like she can do anything, even the impossible. Her son, Cale, had that same look in her eyes.
if it’s her, then it could be possible. “You don’t have to search for who, Young Lady,” he said, a few seconds of silence and he inhaled shakily. “All you have to do is gather all evidence you can find against that bitch who killed Aliah.” when he looked up, what the Prince and Cale saw was pure animosity. Both had different impressions of this look on the King.
Alberu couldn’t believe what he was hearing, so he was left speechless. Even so, there was a small part inside him that was burning the same emotion as his father. He thought his mother died of a disease, and even if he had suspicions in the past, he wouldn't be able to act on them because someone was monitoring his every move.
The Empress.
While Cale had a devilish smile on her face. Knowing that the king was still not finished.
“Find every single one of them who were involved, every crime they’ve committed, every dirt you can find. I don’t care if you have to spill blood along the way.” If Cale was the only one looking deadly when she came, now all three of them inside the office looked like they are ready to create a mass massacre.
An offer to support Alberu also means the Henituse family will protect him, and that was enough to let his emotions loose for his son to see. Zed had lived his days in despair ever since his beloved wife died, and lived his days away from his son because of the fear that he’ll lose him too. Now that an opportunity has presented itself, he is willing to shed bloodshed in his kingdom for the sake of justice and for the sake of his son’s future.
If he wants to achieve all of those, that bitch of an empress needs to die. And he won't be satisfied until she loses everything.
“Then in exchange…” Cale responded. “ I want full control over the investigation regarding the Plaza Bombing,” she said as she tilted her head.
“I also have people I need to kill for the suffering of my family.”

Cale sat up panting on her bed, she was sweating and trembling. The kids, who were sleeping on the bed as well, woke up at the sudden movement from their guardian. “Nya?” “Human?” the worriedly called out. The redhead had a horrified look on her face and they didn’t like it.
“did you have a nightmare nya?” On
“Should we sing lullabies to keep nightmares away?” Hong
“Fragile human, just dream of this dragon and this might me will protect you in your dreams.” Baby Dragon
After a few more coaxing and their guardian finally calmed down, she scooped all of them in her arms to comfort herself.
Notes:
How Cale convinced Deruth to let her go because, apparently, he didn't want her to attend the gathering for the reason that there are 'wolves' in the capital and he won't be there to protect his precious daughter.
"There will be a gathering for nobles in the capital in a few days, it was arranged by the crown prince so Basen will b-" "I'll be going."
The whole family was eating breakfast when Cale spoke, so everyone, including the servant, couldn't believe the young master's words. After all, she absolutely hated socializing with other nobles.
"What?" Deruth
"I'll be going" Cale repeated.
"But you hate social gatherings"
"I'll still be going," Cale said nonchalantly.
"Even Basen can att-" "I.will.be.going." this time Cale emphasized every word.
"...yes ma'am" Deruth lamented
