One warm evening in the end of May, Luffy, Ace and Sabo were watching stars. It was announced the meteor shower of Lyrids has just begun and so the brothers decided to eat their dinner outside. Sabo suddenly noticed a falling star.
„Look! A shooting star! Make a wish, guys.“ He pointed his finger on the dark sky. Luffy at once giggled.
„I wish for lots of delicious meat. Can we have a barbecue soon?“ He said. Ace slightly patted him.
„You’re not supposed to say the wish aloud or it won’t come true.“ He scolded him. Luffy pouted and puffed his cheeks. Ace heartily laughed at his reaction and pinched his cheek. But he himself secretly said a wish in his mind.
„Please, make my love come true.“

The next day Ace finds a secretly sent love letter in his locker. There’s only a small piece of paper containing a beautifully drawn star and short message:
Would you like to go watch shooting stars this evening with me? If yes, please meet me at the seacoast on the northern pier at 7 pm.
M.
Ace was staring at the message with disbelief. Is he dreaming? He just got asked out on the most romantic date he could wish for. But who sent it? Ace couldn’t recognize the handwriting, though it looked like a scribble, despite the stunning drawing.
He discussed it with his classmate. Ace was kinda pondering over going or not going. He was not exactly popular in the school and so there was a high probability of it being just a prank. Though Thatch said he has no idea to whom the handwriting belongs, in the end he convinced Ace to give it a try, with a mysterious smile on his face.

Later that day Ace, dressed up in his favourite shorts and an unbuttoned shirt, sluggishly made his way to the northern pier. He was hesitating. Actually he was scared. He didn’t want to be the target of a terrible prank pulled on himself. But on the other hand, he was curious about the person, that sent him the letter. The star drawing was very artistic and realistic.
Ace shook his head and finally decided to make the few steps closer to the seacoast, making his way to the meeting place, the wooden pier. Suddenly e noticed a person standing on the pier. Ace tried to narrow his eyes to see more clearly but he was still too far away to actually see the person’s build.
As the pier was closer and closer, the features of the person were more and more clear, and then Ace froze. He recognized the person. It was Marco. THAT Marco. The handsome captain of the school’s basketball team, the idol of girls in their high school, the popular top student – and Ace’s long-time crush. They both went to the same middle school, though Marco was a senior now and Ace was still a sophomore.
How come his longtime crush was waiting there? That must’ve been just a joke, right? But the way Marco was nervously rubbing the hem of his purple shirt assured Ace, that this can’t be just Marco pulling a prank on him. In a flash, Ace recalled that Thatch’s mysterious smile. That fucker knew damn well whose handwriting it was, Ace realized. That’s why he was persuading him so much. All of the nerves washed over him, and Ace felt calmer. He smiled, took a deep breath and made his way to greet Marco.
Marco noticed him and smiled at him with the most beautiful smile Ace has ever seen.
„Hi Ace.“ He greeted him shyly. Ace waved at him with a bright smile still on his lips. Near Marco, there was a picnic basket full of food and a folded up, red striped blanket. Ace blushed. Marco knew how to seduce him.
They sat down on the blanket and started to chat a bit, both of them still pretty shy. Then Ace pointed on the sky and said:“ Look! A star is falling!“
Marco smiled and asked him: „Have you made a wish?“ Ace shook his head.
„My wish has already come true.“
