Love Lost, Love Found

Summary:

During U.A., Katsuki confessed to Hanta, only to be rejected. Izuku's was left to pick up the pieces of Katsuki's broken heart, but Katsuki soon discovered the monster that Izuku was.

Years later, Pro-Hero Ground Zero had been missing from the hero scene from a year when Sero was contacted by Ground Zero Hero Agency, requesting him to work with them. With the hope of seeing the blonde omega that haunted his heart and mind, he accepted, only to be met with a surprise.

Rather than Katsuki running the agency, it was Pro-Hero Deku.

Writing with InsomniCat was an absolute joy and I had a blast. Hopefully I get to write with her again soon. Anyway, I hope you guys enjoy the creation from our craziness!

Work Text:

Two figures stood outside of the classroom, one an ash-blonde and the other with black hair. Katsuki had asked Hanta to meet him after class, so he stood there awkwardly waiting for whatever the blonde bombshell had to say.

“Fuck…why is this so hard?!” Katsuki growled, his hands popping in frustration. “I- fuck, Hanta, I like you.”

Pink tinged Bakugou’s face, and Hanta could only stare at the unexpected revelation. Sure, he and Katsuki had developed a better friendship, one rivaling the friendship Bakugou shared with Kirishima, but a romantic confession? He was at a loss for words.

Realizing he stood there in silence, he cleared his throat awkwardly. “I’m sorry Kats… I don’t like you in that way.”

Katsuki stood there silently before breathing out and turning sharply around.
“Whatever, like I give a fuck,” he muttered.

It didn’t stop Sero from seeing the crystal droplet that fell from Katsuki’s cheek.

———

It has been 5 years since the confession and even now Sero, from time to time, thinks about it. However, no matter the amount of reminiscing he did, it didn’t change the fact that he lost his chance. Every time he saw Katsuki’s smile directed towards Midoriya, he couldn't stop the burning sensation in his stomach. That could have been him if he wasn’t such an idiot and he lost his chance.

Sero took a deep breath staring at the piece of paper in his hand. It was an invitation, a proposal to work for Ground Zero agency.

He hadn't expected it at all, especially since Katsuki broke all contact after graduation with all of them. - not just the class, but the squad was cut off completely as well. But this? This was an opportunity, not only to know why Katsuki just left them out of his life, but also a possible chance to gain his heart once again.

Without hesitation, Sero accepted. He called his agency up quickly and informed them he would be transferring. He had been working with Hawks as a pro-hero for the past few years, and the man was understanding but sad to see him go. Hawks wished him well and told him to “spread his wings.”

So, without waiting further, he packed up his office to transfer to Ground Zero’s agency in Kamino. Upon his arrival, the receptionist informed him that Deku was waiting for him.

He quickly ascended to the top floor where Deku’s office was, hoping to catch sight of the elusive blonde. When he reached there, Deku opened the door with a wide grin. Gone was the baby face of his high school years, replaced with a chiseled jawline and a stylish undercut. He stood at an intimidating 6’7” with large corded muscles that were hugged by his hero suit.

“Cellophane! It’s been a while! How have you been?” Deku asked, jolly as ever.

Sero scratched the back of his head nervously, taking in the strong pine and mint rolling off of the alpha in waves. It was intimidating.

“Ah, I’ve been well dude. Working with Hawks, y’know?”

“That’s good to hear! So when will you start working with us?”

“I just have to find a place to stay, man, but that should only take a week. This was really a big surprise and I just had to immediately accept it!”

Deku laughed, “Yea we had a new opening and I figured why not? And I think Katsuki’s and my apartment actually has a vacant room, so you could take that if you’d like?”

Living in the same place as Katsuki and working with him? It sounded too good to be true. “Oh yeah! Honestly I’ve been procrastinating on apartment searching since I just got here.”

“I totally get it! Here, let me give you the address and landlord’s contact information,” Deku smiled, writing it down on a slip of paper and handing it to Sero.

The pager buzzed, and the receptionist’s voice filtered through. “Deku, your mate is here.”

Seros heart skipped a beat at announce. Was he going to finally see Katsuki after so long? The blonde omega had been on a leave for the past year, no one knew why, but now he was getting the chance to see him, was he okay? Did he even want to talk to him?

"Oh, send him here, please." Izuku’s grin grew wider, sending a chill through Hantas back. Was Midoriya always like that? “Hope you don't mind, Sero."

“Hell nah, man. It's been a while since I got to see Katsuki, I'm excited." It wasn't a lie, but not a total truth. His inner alpha was preening at the thought of seeing his omega.

The sweet scent of caramel filled Hanta’s nose and he knew without even looking that Katsuki had entered the room. Turning to the door, Katsuki was standing there, beautiful as always — his blonde hair a little bit longer than before, his ruby red eyes, his full petal pink lips, and those soft curves.

However, Sero couldn't stop a surprise sound when he noticed the double stroller and the milky scent characteristic in a pup. His eyes drifted from the blonde to the sleeping puppies in the stroller. Katsuki was a mom now?

A soft growl made Sero snap out his thoughts, looking between Katsuki and Midoriya, and then it hit him. The caramel scent of Katsuki was full of distress, souring to smell more like mildew. Was it his fault?

The pups awoke, whimpering at the distress they smelt from their mother.

“Ah, Sero. It’s been a while. Sorry, I have to take care of my pups,” Katsuki said softly, picking both of them up and rocking them to soothe their cries. Katsuki was so small compared to Sero, and so much more demure.

It was unsettling when he was so brash and lively in high school. Izuku’s voice thundered through the room, his possessive scent dominating the atmosphere.

“I-I’m sorry Deku. It was good seeing you again Bakugou-“ Sero nervously stuttered out before being cut off.

“His name is Midoriya Katsuki now.” Deku looked absolutely murderous, his pupils thin pinpricks. Sero felt himself gulp.

“Of course, Midoriya, I apologize, but I need to be going. I should get in contact with that landlord before it’s too late. I’ll see you guys around?”

Katsuki mutely nodded, and without waiting for Deku’s scent to get any more suffocating, he fled from the building.

Sero called up the landlord and secured the apartment. He arranged for the move, and with luck he would be ready for work in a week.

The squad had come over to help him move, but he kept quiet about the situation with Deku and Katsuki. He still had to process the entire situation.

If he were to be candid, he was crushed. Not only was the omega he loved with another alpha and already mated, but they had pups. He stood no chance.

There was a crash above his apartment two days after he moved in, and he paused to listen. A cry, muffled, followed by a pup’s whines. Sero didn’t know what to do, so he sat and waited.

What kind of hero was he?

Of course he didn’t stand a chance against the hero Deku.

———

After Sero hastily left, Katsuki turned to Izuku nearly in tears. “Wh-Why? Why would you bring Sero here?” The pups cried louder as their mother failed to stifle his sobs.

Izuku’s nostrils flared as he quickly approached his small mate, his hand harshly gripping the nape of Katsuki’s neck. Katsuki whined, drawing Kazuki and Hana closer to him. The grin Izuku wore was completely manic, and possession rolled off of his scent in heavy waves. “Because Kaachan, you’re mine, and you need to be put in your place. Sero will never want you. No one but me could ever love trash like you, and you need to be reminded.”

The tears that were clustered on his waterline overflowed, allowing the signs of his fear, his weakness, to be visible. “Y-yes Alpha, I understand,” he whimpered, his knees nearly buckling under Izuku’s suffocating scent. By now, the pups’ cries were nearly deafening.

“Now go soothe our pups Kaachan. I expect dinner ready when I get home.”

He turned back to his desk, his eyes hardening as he watched his mate. He would make sure Katsuki was his and only his. Forever.

When Katsuki got home, he slammed the door shut before sliding against it. Tears streamed down his face.

He thought he was being good. He stopped being a hero, he birthed Deku’s pups, he’s been the ideal image of an omegan housewife. So why?

Why did Deku think he needed to dig the knife further? Why did Deku want to hurt him more?

Getting up, he messily wiped his tears before getting the twins out of their stroller. He had to feed them, and sat down with each of them latched onto a breast as they fed hungrily. He cooed softly at them, purring to try and soothe them and himself.

While they were feeding, he reminisced over how he got here.

It happened after graduation. Honestly, Katsuki leaned a lot on Izuku when Hanta rejected him. Eijirou and the rest if the squad couldn't know. He was embarrassed and so, he decided not to tell them. He sought out some distance between his friend group to avoid the awkwardness of facing his rejection. He couldn’t stand to be near Sero knowing that he couldn’t be with him like he wanted.

Izuku had been a saint, he listened to him, hugged him and let him cry. His omega was devastated, his alpha had rejected him. The constant thoughts about not being good enough were on repeat in his mind.

By end of high school, Izuku was constantly insisting on courtship. It got to the point that Katsuki didn’t have the heart to deny his courtship. Izuku was there for him, even if Katsuki knew his heart would always be Sero’s. The green haired alpha was good, sweet and kind, but Katsuki wasn't happy. Even after opening his own agency and debuting in the top 10, he wasn’t happy, so he decided it was time to end things with Izuku.

He did not expect the drastic change in Izuku's personality.

Suddenly all the kind words and actions were gone. He still remembered how the alpha had entered his house accompanied by his mother, both had an official statement from the HPSC saying that Izuku was the owner of the 60% of his hero agency.

He screamed and cried while Izuku said that if he left him, he would take over his hero agency. That night, Izuku had bonded to him, leaving his disgusting mark. It branded Katsuki as Izuku’s property. Thinking about it still makes him feel dirty. He was weak, he tried to fight, but he lost.

After that, it was a nightmare: the degradation, the humiliation, the pain. Katsuki was nothing, not even a shadow of what he used to be. The only thing keeping him sane was his work as a hero, but after a while, Izuku took that from him too.

He snapped out of his memories, his pups done with their meal. He quickly burped them and put them in their cradles for nap time.

He had a few hours and he still had a lot to do, but he was the best. He quickly cleaned, did the laundry, and made dinner. When he was finished, the pups woke up, and it was time for their dinner as well.

He was once again in the middle of feeding them when Izuku returned to their apartment. “Kaachan, where is dinner?” he called from the doorway, scuffling as he took off his shoes.

“It’s already on the table alpha. I am feeding our pups right now,” Katsuki called back, keeping his eyes locked on his pups. They squirmed happily against him, and he smiled softly.

He had two little lights to guide him through this dark time.

“Omega, hurry up. I want a bath run before I finish dinner, and the kitchen clean before the pups are put to sleep.” Katsuki bit his lip, knowing better than to explain that the pups were still ravenous and probably would not be done when Izuku wanted them to be.

“Yes alpha,” he whispered, carefully stroking Hana’s head of hair as she gurgled around his nipple.

Like he anticipated, they were not done in time. He bit back his whimpers as Izuku stripped off his belt. “Kneel omega. You disobeyed me. Now you will be punished,” his voice boomed.

“Alpha, what about the pups?” Katsuki whimpered. They weren’t done nursing yet and Katsuki couldn’t bear to make them stop early. He needed to make sure his pups grew big and strong.

“That’s your problem. You just earned yourself 10 more lashes. Now kneel before I make you omega,” Izuku snarled, rolling up his sleeves.

Katsuki didn’t know what to do, so he knelt with his twins still cradled to his breast. His back was facing Izuku, and he rest his forehead on the couch. “I expect you to count, Kaachan.”

“Yes alpha,” Katsuki whimpered, biting back a sob as the belt struck his back. “One alpha,” he whined out, the pups crying as his scent began to sour.

Dutifully, he counted, and by the time he took 30 lashes, tears were dripping down his face while his pups wailed.

“What do you say, omega?”

Katsuki winced, biting his lip as his stomach rolled in unease. “Thank you for disciplining your omega and showing it it’s place, alpha,” he whispered.

Izuku smirked, “Good. Now behave Kaachan. You know I don’t like punishing you, but you leave me no choice sometimes. Leave the pups with me and go run me a bath, love.”

Katsuki wanted to cry at the thought of leaving his pups in distress to his alpha, but he had no choice. It was best for all of them if he did so without complaint.

Reluctantly, Katsuki handed the small crying babies to his husband, before slowly turning to limp to the bathroom as his back screamed in agony.

He didn’t miss the dark look in Izuku’s eyes as he possessively held the crying pups.

Katsuki was preparing the bath for Izuku, his body ached so bad — he was sure he was going to have horrible bruises on his back for a long time, that is, if Izuku didn't decide he needed another punishment.

He was heading back to the living room when the green haired hero's phone started to ring. He quickly moved to take the pups after receiving a look from his alpha, carefully taking the two blonde babies who instantly started to try to nurse from his mother.

"Is it necessary for me to come?" Izuku asked the other person on the phone, his scent fuelled with anger.

Katsuki soothed the pups to make them stop whining uncomfortable at their dad's scent. He held in his sigh of relief when the babies calmed down and started to get sleepy, his omega practically purring just by seeing his pups comfortable again.

"Alright, I'll be there in 20 minutes," Izuku's voice snapped. Izuku turned towards him, and his ruby eyes made contact with the other before dropping his head down low. Eye contact always made Izuku even angrier at him.

"I'm gonna go, there's an emergency. I'll be back when I have to, an I don't want to see the pups in our bed when I arrive. And take a shower, you stink." Katsuki wanted to cry at the idea of not having the pups with him during the night. They needed him, especially now.

Listlessly, Katsuki took a shower and put the pups to sleep, trying his hardest to ignore their whines. He did feed them a bit more, which satiated their hunger, but they needed him.

Usually Izuku was fine with them sleeping with him, provided he was good. However, it seemed tonight he hadn’t earned that privilege.

He fell into a fitful sleep, only to be woken by the sound of the apartment door opening. At first he thought it was Izuku’s footsteps, but they were much too harsh to be his. The bedroom door slammed open, and there his mother was in all her glory.

“Omega, I see you can follow directions,” she sneered. It wasn’t often that Mitsuki came over, usually under Izuku’s instruction after a punishment to rub salt further into the wound. “Hmmm, but he doesn’t know that. And he said that I could take them if you weren’t being obedient,” she cackled, turning around to go to the nursery. Katsuki scrambled after her, putting himself between the doorway and his mother.

“Stop! I listened, and you can’t take my pups!” he said, throwing his arms out. His mother may be an alpha, but he was once a pro-hero and a protective mother. She would not take his pups.

“Omega, move,” she growled, trying to command him. It didn’t work. They stood like that. She knew better than to harm him without Izuku’s express permission.

The door opened once more, and Izuku looked at the both of them. “Kaachan? Were you good?”

Katsuki turned his gaze to the floor submissively. “Yes alpha, I put the pups in their nursery. Sh-she was trying to take them!”

His eyes hardened. “Mitsuku, I told you that if Kaachan was good, then he would get to keep the pups.”

She huffed, “Who cares?” before continuing, “Whatever. I’m going now that this little errand is done.”

She left and Izuku went to bed. Katsuki couldn’t shake the unease. Izuku would have let her take his pups.

One thought plagued his mind.

He had to get out.

Katsuki didn’t delay.

The next few days were hell. If he was walking on eggshells before, it felt like he was walking on glass shards now, forced to stifle his cries of pain while trying to keep the shards from cracking further. Things shifted. Izuku was still cheery and he did everything he could to keep Izuku in a good mood, least he lose his pups.

Katsuki came to an unsettling realization, the harsh reality of his mate. Izuku didn’t care about him. Izuku only cared about possessing him.

As soon as Izuku went to hero work a few days later, he raced down to Sero’s apartment with the twins strapped to his chest and back.

He knew which one had recently been vacated and could only hope Sero had already begun to move. Frantically, he knocked on the door, praying that Sero would open up.

It seemed like luck was on his side for once in his life.

The door opened, and there stood Sero. His comforting scent of sandalwood and honey washed over him.

“Kats- Midoriya?”

Katsuki stood there panicking. “D-don’t call me that!” he harshly spit out, before covering his mouth frantically. What if the neighbors heard?

Well, they would probably ignore it. Just as they had every other noise he made in the past.

“Katsuki?” Sero tried again.

“I need help,” Katsuki whispered, his eyes full of hope. Sero’s eyes softened, and he stepped aside.

“Why don’t we come in and talk?” Without waiting further, they made it to the couch, boxes piled here and there.

“T-the twins, they aren’t safe. My mother tried to take them last night,” Katsuki said, breathing stuttered. Even thinking about losing his pups filled him with indescribable dread.

Sero contemplated for a moment, before saying, “Deku wouldn’t allow that, right?”

“You don’t understand!” Katsuki shouted, near tears. The twins squirmed in discomfort at the sudden loud noises. Katsuki was near hysterical though. “He-he-“

Sero’s eyes darkened. Just what had become of the strong omega he knew from high school? Before he could summon another response, or try and keep the omega from slipping out of his grasp again, Katsuki paused.

He looked horrified, on the verge of throwing up. “I-I need to go. Now,” he said, hastily getting up and racing out the door before Sero could do anything.

The door slammed shut with a loud thud, and Sero snapped out of his daze.

What could he do?

———

After Katsuki’s confession, Sero felt unsettled. He didn’t know what to do.

Domestic abuse was hard to prove, but against a popular pro-hero? It would be nearly impossible.

Two days later came the crash and the pups’ cries.

Two days later and he sat and did nothing knowing full well Katsuki was in danger.

The following morning, he couldn’t wait longer. He needed to do something. So, he started with texting the rest of the squad.

SoySauce: Have you heard about Deku from anyone in the class lately?

ShittyHair: idk dude ur the one who started working with him

Pikachu: whoa u used proper grammar is smth up?

SoySauce:Mina?

RaccoonEyes: no y?

SoySauce: I’m worried about Bakugou.

ShittyHair: Isn’t he mated to Izuku? What’s there to worry about?

SoySauce: Forget I said anything.

He put his phone down with a heavy sigh. He had no proof. Maybe they just got into a fight? It isn’t the first time the explosive blonde would destroy something in a fit of rage.

Still…he couldn’t shake the unsettling feeling about it all.

After a few days, he was still unsettled. The squad had asked him about it but he didn't really know what to say. He didn't have proof and no one was going to believe that a well-known hero like Deku was some kind of abuser.

He started trying to check on anything that could indicate that something was happening but he hadn't seen Katsuki since that day and during work, Deku was as sweet and polite as he remembered from high school.

Taking a beer from his fridge, Sero went to the sofa, phone in his hand looking through something that could help him, when he stumbled on a picture of Shoto, Deku and Ground Zero. If he was correct, Shoto was the closest to Izuku even after graduation...

Quickly, Sero went through his contacts and found his ex-classmate’s number. Taking a deep breath he sent a text.

SoySauce: it's been a while, Roki. I'm working with Deku now, so we should meet somewhere one of these days!

After sending the text he was anxious. It was too awkward, he hadn't been in contact with Todoroki really, just a few texts when something big happened. He jumped at the sound of his phone when a new message arrived.

IcyHot: It has been a while. I would be happy to meet with you whatever day works for you. My schedule is pretty flexible right now.

SoySauce: what if we go for a coffee this weekend? Would you like to?

IcyHot: I am free this weekend, so I could go for a coffee. There's a cafe close to my agency, it's a cat cafe if it's okay?

SoySauce: amazing see ya then at 2pm on Saturday?

IcyHot: I'll be there, Sero. Have a good night.

His hands were trembling, at least a little bit after finishing texting with Todoroki. He wasn't sure he was doing the correct thing, but if someone could tell if there was abuse going on, it was Shoto. Sadly, the hot and cold hero hadn't had the best father and he knew what signs to look for.

Drinking almost all his beer in just one go, he sighed. He hadn't heard anything from the apartment above for a few days and that just made him even more worried about Katsuki and the pups.

It was Thursday and he was meeting Todoroki on Saturday so that was almost two days left. He just hoped it wasn't too late.

The days passed in a blink and, unfortunately, the noises had begun again and he was worried, especially when the smell of an omega in distress was so strong that he could smell it and he wasn't even on the same floor as them.

When Saturday finally hit, Sero was ready at 1:00 p.m., and arrived at the agreed cafe at 1:30 p.m. It was a short walk to Todoroki's agency, previously owned by Endeavor until he was put under arrest for domestic violence thanks to Shoto himself.

That was the main reason he was putting all his hopes in the man — maybe the hot and cold hero would know what to do. The only thing that made him uncomfortable was the fact that Shoto was a close friend of Midoriya. Everything could backfire but he was willing to take the risk.

Without noticing he arrived at the aforementioned cat cafe. It was absolutely adorable, and Sero didn't hesitate to go inside, taking a table and just waiting for his ex-classmate to arrive.

Todoroki arrived a few moments later, gracefully settling into his seat.

“Hello Sero,” Todoroki greeted politely. “How have you been?”

“Ah you know, moving to a new prefecture and whatnot. I’m working under Ground Zero’s agency now.”

Todoroki seemed to be more on edge at the mention of the agency, and hope sparked inside Sero.

“How has it been?” Sero asked. He seemed to be looking for something.

“Ah…well Deku is…nice,” Sero laughed awkwardly. “I, ah, actually wanted to talk about something. Just between us?”

Todoroki looked to the side before leaning in slightly. “Is this about Midoriya and Bakugou?”

Sero let out a breath of relief. He wasn’t the only one with suspicions.

“I saw Bakugou at the agency. He has pups, and he came crying to me about losing them to his mother. He seemed certain Izuku would let her take them, but ran off before I could get anything else,” Sero explained. Todoroki nodded along.

“I began suspecting something after graduation. I’ve been trying to collect evidence but Izuku keeps Bakugou pretty confined to the house. His mother being involved would explain how Deku got into the agency, even though she shouldn’t have any power with the whole case of child abuse against her. If she and Deku worked together before Bakugou was removed from her legal custody, then she could have given Deku the in he needed to control Bakugou,” Todoroki explained. “Here’s what you need to do. I’m assuming you want to help. Collect evidence — dates, times, quotes, anything really. This case is going to mainly rely on witness testimony unless Deku physically harms Bakugou and there are records.”

Sero nodded, and bid Todoroki farewell.

Neither of them heard the click of the camera shutter.

———

“Look Kaachan,” Deku cooed. The image on his phone made the blonde freeze.

It was Sero and Todoroki. Sero found another omega. Of course he wouldn’t want a used omega when he could have the perfect ice prince.

“I guess Sero moved for Todoroki. In that case, we can tell the men to stop following him…Ah this is good,” Deku grinned maliciously. “How does it feel to know Todoroki and Sero both don’t care about you? They’re moving on, Kaachan. Without you.”

“N-no! Todoroki wouldn’t! He wouldn’t!” Katsuki cried. His heart was shattered.

His best friend, the only one allowed in his life after Deku took complete control, betrayed him. He knew that Katsuki loved Sero. Why?

Deku slapped him. “Did you just raise your voice at me, omega?”

Katsuki sniffed. He was trapped here. This was his life.

———

Things became monotonous for Katsuki ever since the picture. He became dormant, and you could feel the satisfaction rolling off of his mate in waves.

Katsuki was the perfect little doll for Deku now, a marionette for him to do with as he wished. He obeyed perfectly.

Though he tried to care for his pups, things shifted. Perhaps he would no longer care if they were taken. Maybe then, he could finally find a reason to give up. Maybe then he could be free. From Sero’s heartbreak, Todoroki’s betrayal, and Izuku’s control.

Perhaps Midoriya didn’t expect Katsuki to lose his will to live when he took away the last glimmering shard of hope.

“Omega, I am home,” Izuku called. Katsuki stood in the kitchen plating dinner like the picture-perfect omegan housewife.

“Welcome home, alpha,” Katsuki responded. “Here is your dinner. I will run you a bath now.”

Izuku sat down, grabbing Katsuki’s wrist before he could leave the room. “Sit down omega. You can do that later. Tell me about your day,” Izuku ordered.

Katsuki did as ordered, reporting that the twins were well behaved and he completed his chore list. His pups seemed to sense his depression, becoming quiet. Katsuki was thankful, even if he knew he was a terrible mother for falling in front of his pups like this. He didn’t think he could pretend to be happy when everything felt lost.

In turn, Izuku told him about how his hero agency was doing and several arrests he made while on shift. When he finished his meal, Deku pulled Katsuki into a kiss. He compliantly opened his mouth for Izuku’s tongue, letting the alpha dominate the kiss.

When Izuku decided he tasted enough of his omega, Katsuki pulled back. “If that is all, then I will run your bath now, alpha.”

Izuku sighed. “You’re getting boring Kaachan~”

———

A few weeks had passed, with Sero documenting what he could; the only issue was, past the first few encounters he had with Katsuki, everything stopped. No loud noises, hardly any puppies’ wailing, no breaking of anything. Just silence.

Sero didn’t know what to do, but Todoroki made it very clear that he was not to approach Deku. Doing so could let Deku know that they were suspicious and cause the leash he kept on Katsuki to have even less slack.

“Todoroki, I just don’t know what to do,” Sero sighed. “He has shown no hint of knowing, but it’s been so quiet.”

Todoroki hummed in acknowledgement. “Unfortunately, it isn’t uncommon for this to happen, or even for the abuser to become nice all of a sudden. It’s to keep the victim pliant, planting thoughts like it is the victim’s fault for the abuse and that the abuser is actually kind. It leads to victim blaming and the abuser getting a firmer hold on their victim,” he explained sadly.

“For real? How do we catch him then?”

Todoroki shook his head. “I’ve been trying for years. It doesn’t happen over night. That’s how Endeavor stayed in power for so long. If you have money and power, you can hide anything,” he spat out. Anger masked his face.

“Yeah, ok. I promise I won’t do anything rash. It’s just frustrating,” Sero said, rubbing a hand through his dark tresses.

Shoto smiled sympathetically. “Yea, it is.”

Sero dragged himself back to his apartment, his heart heavy. Only to see Eijirou standing outside, leaning against the door frame.

“BRO!” he shouted, a smile plastered on his face. “You know since you moved closer, I thought you would at least visit. I’m hurt,” he said, his hand held over his heart feigning heartbreak.

“Ei?” Sero asked in surprise.

“Don’t be rude! Invite me in. The last time I saw your place there were boxes everywhere.”

Sero awkwardly opened the door, allowing his friend to enter. Once both men were in the room and the door was firmly shut, Kirishima’s facade dropped.

“What was that bullshit a few weeks ago. And stop giving me excuses,” Kirishima growled.

“I- look, I saw Katsuki. He has pups, and,” Sero trailed off.

“And what?!” Kirishima exclaimed. So Sero sighed and explained how Katsuki came to his door in tears afraid he would lose one of his pups.

Just as he finished, there was a knock at the door. Both alphas stared at each other before Sero hesitantly walked over to it.

When he opened the door, he saw Katsuki standing there with one of the pups, tears streaming down his face.

“Katsuki?”

“Th-The- She-She took Hana!” he wailed, collapsing on the floor.

Sero’s eyes widened in surprise. So Izuku truly wasn’t the picture perfect alpha society made him out to be.

It wasn’t totally unexpected given what Sero suspected, but it was still unnerving that two top heroes within the span of a few decades were abusive and got away with it.

“Calm down Katsuki, I need you to tell me what happened,” Sero said, hushing the omega and guiding him into the apartment. He tried to console the omega through his scent, but it did very little to soothe Katsuki.

Eijirou stood there with a hardened look on his face. He looked absolutely murderous.

“I-I-“ Katsuki stuttered, sniffling as he broke down into tears once more.

Sero’s heart ached, but he needed to know what happened.

“Kats, please, I need you to calm down,” Sero whispered, cupping his face and rubbing away the tears that continuously leaked out of ruby eyes. “Now what happened?”

“He-Izuku-he called over my mom and-and!” Katsuki burst into tears again. Wordlessly, he held up his arms, which had rings of hand-shaped bruises.

“I-I couldn’t d-do anything!” he wailed. “Izuku wouldn’t let me and-and I’m a terrible omega-“

“Hey hey,” Sero shushed, watching as Katsuki broke down into hysterics. “Breathe baby, deep breaths. This was out of your control, Kats, and we will get them back.”

He looked at Eijirou and nodded. It was time to save Katsuki.

The first thing Eijirou and Sero did was call the rest of the squad together. This was a fragile situation and they only needed people they could trust.

Sero also called Shoto.

They both knew it was time. They were going to take Deku down.

All participants arrived there fairly quickly, attempting to calm their former pack-mate. Katsuki was still crying. He had no clue what to do.

“Sero, I think you should stay with Katsuki while we retrieve the pup,” Shoto said after pulling Hanta to the side. “I don’t want to bring him with us in case things get out of control. We can’t have him rushing in and getting hurt.”

Sero was reluctant - he felt the need to protect his mate’s pup - but understood. Katsuki was in distress even with their support.

“Yeah, ok, just bring Hana back safe? Katsuki would be devastated if something happened.”

Shoto and Sero part, leaving a distressed Katsuki with Hanta. Katsuki was shaking, completely devastated from not having Hana with him, and not even Kazuki little whimpers were enough to snap him out of his almost catatonic state.

"Kats, it's okay, Sho and Ei will bring Hana back, just breathe," Sero said sitting next to the blonde omega.

"My pup... Alpha please, I need my pup," Katsuki cried looking straight at Hanta, who embraced the other carefully, stroking his hair.

"She'll be back soon, omega, we will give you your pup back," Hanta was definitely going to bring that pup back — that was his mate's pup — if Sho and Ei didn't get to bring the baby back, Hanta would fight Midoriya to get Hana back. He would do anything to stop his mate’s tears.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I'm causing you all trouble. I'm so stupid, I'm sorry..." Katsuki tightened his hold on Kazuki but didn't move from Hanta's hug.

"You're not, and it's okay baby. Thanks for coming to me, you were so brave to do so. You're so strong, Kats." Hanta never stopped stroking Katsukis hair, going so far as to kiss his head softly.

Katsuki was finally calming down, and it was obvious as Kazuki was also calmer than before, his whines ceasing.

"I'm sorry," Katsuki murmured after feeling a little bit better now, he was still sniffling a little but was calmer than before.

"It's okay, this situation is really stressful." Against his instincts, Sero let Katsuki out of his embrace.

Katsuki looked at him for a moment before looking away from those black eyes.

"It must be annoying, comfort an omega that isn't your mate," the blonde said while adjusting the pup in his arms.

"Huh? We're friends, Katsuki. I care for you and your pups," he replied, giving him a little smile. Sero felt his heart flutter when he caught a light blush on the other's face.

"Thank you, and I'm sorry for dragging you and the others into this situation..."

Katsuki was curled up on Sero’s chest, lightly sniffling.

He couldn’t believe all that happened. He lost Hana. He lost his pup.

Deku walked into their apartment with Mitsuki, and Katsuki could feel a chill running down his spine. This didn’t bode well for him.

He kept his eyes submissively locked on the floor as he greeted, “Hello Alphas. Welcome home. Is there anything I can get you?”

”No thanks Kaachan! Just follow us. I want to show you something.” Izuku’s voice was too cheery, and Katsuki bit back the whimper of fear bubbling in his throat.

”Yes alpha.”

They walked towards the pups’ room, and Katsuki felt panic overwhelming him. “Alpha? Why are we going to the pups room?” Katsuki asked softly.

”Omega, you do not have permission to speak,” Mitsuki butted in. She seemed so smug.”

Katsuki whimpered as the door opened, the pups whining as if they felt the ominous atmosphere too.

”Go on, Mitsuki, take one,” Deku said, smirking. His eyes were firmly locked with Katsuki, who stared up at his alpha with large pleading eyes.

”B-but alpha, I’ve been good!” Katsuki whined, watching as Mitsuki walked towards their cribs.

”Yes, but you’re too boring now Kaachan. I miss that spitfire you used to be, y’know?”

”Spitfire? I-I thought you wanted me to be good?” Katsuki cried, “I-I did everything! Everything you asked of me—I—,”

Mitsuki cut him off. She had a pup. She had Hana. “I think I’ll take this one,” she chuckled, the pup loudly crying at the unfamiliar scent. “After all,” she cooed, “you named this one after that other alpha, right Katsuki?” Katsuki could feel tears drip down his cheeks. No one was supposed to know that his baby girl was to remind him of Hanata. No one.

So how had she figured it out?

”Oh? This is news to me, Kaachan. It’s ok though,” Deku cooed mockingly. “You and I both know that Sero will never love you. I’m the only one who can love Kaachan.”

Katsuki felt himself snap. He was about to lose his pup. He lunged forward at Mitsuki, hissing. His omegan fangs were bared as he snarled at the threat causing his pup to cry.

Only to yelp as he was grabbed by the wrists, the hand holding them dangerously tight. Katsuki struggled as much as he could, but he was no match for Deku, a pro-hero. Katsuki sobbed as he scratched and bit whatever he could reach, and Deku’s eyes grew thunderous. “Kaachan, you need to take your punishment like a good omega. You’ll get her back in a few days,” Deku growled, his grip tightening.

Katsuki cried as he was thrown harshly on the floor. Deku and Mitsuki were leaving the nursery. Kazuki and Hana were both crying in distress.

”Now I’ll be back later, Kaachan. I want dinner ready when I get back. I’m just going to help Hana get settled,” he laughed, kicking Katsuki across the room. Katsuki groaned, his body curling in on itself to protect his soft tissues.

From his vantage point on the floor, he could see Deku’s dark smile as he and Mitsuki left the room. Hana’s wails would forever be branded in his mind.

———

Kirishima and the rest of the squad knocked at the door heavy-handed. They weren’t in their hero gear, but they were still prepared to fight if need be.

Shoto would be the one to get Hana back, since she would hopefully recognize his scent. Denki was the only other omega, but Shoto was the better choice since she had met Shoto, and Hana was no doubt in distress.

The door creaked open, and there stood Mitsuki Bakugou, Izuku behind her. Eijirou’s eyes hardened. “Where is Hana, Deku?”

“What do you mean, Kirishima?” Deku asked innocently, even going as far to cock his head in question. “My pup is with me. Is that an issue?”

“You know damn well it is. Now. Where. Is. She?” Kirishima growled, taking a step further. Todoroki stepped forward to hold him back.

“Midoriya, where is Hana?” the half-and-half hero asked more calmly, but the flames of rage and stone cold hatred danced in his heterochromic eyes.

“Shocchan? What are you doing here?”

“My question is what you’re doing here,” Shoto responded, an edge to his voice. “You know Mitsuki is abusive. You know Katsuki was removed from her custody. There weren’t criminal charges pressed against her, but you know damn well she shouldn’t be trusted with a child.

“So…Why is your pup here?” Shoto hissed, his eyes narrowing dangerously.

“Shoto, I think I know how to take care of my pup,” Izuku calmly replied. His eyes grew dark in warning.

“Izuku, if you do not step tell me where Hana is right now, I swear you will lose everything. I will make damn sure of that.”

Behind him, Kirishima cracked his knuckles, while Denki played with electricity between his fingers in warning. Mina had her arms crossed, no doubt ready to spew her acid.

“Oi! This is private property! So get off my porch!” Mitsuki growled at them.

“We will not,” Kirishima declared icily, his stance widening. “We are heroes, and you have endangered a pup.”

“Endanger my pup? I love Hana. Her grandmother only wanted to see her granddaughter, and what sort of son-in-law would I be to deny that request?” Deku smiled, still playing innocent. “Mitsuki would never lay a han-.”

“Deku, this is your last warning,” Mina cut Midoriya off, “If you do not move and allow us to take the pup to safety, then we will make you.”

Deku’s eyes widened and a manic smile spread across his face. “Oh? You? You think you four can make me?”

Deku’s eyes darkened, and they were all at a stand-still. Shoto was the first to move, freezing Deku and Mitsuki before darting into the house, the wails of a pup becoming louder and louder.

He found Hana in a closet. A closet. She was locked away, a pacifier messily stuck in her mouth to try and keep her quiet.

Shoto grabbed her and made his way out of the back door quickly.

In the front yard, a fight ensued. Deku had broken out of the ice easily, but Mitsuki was still trapped and screaming her head off.

Meanwhile, Kirishima was in his unbreakable form as he fought Deku hand-to-hand. Deku may have super strength, but he would not break Eijirou.

Mina and Denki were also supporting Eijirou, keeping out of his way while also launching attacks of their own.

A concentrated stream of acid melted through Deku’s clothes, and the man hissed as it ate at his skin.

Denki, in that moment, rushed forward and pushed 3 million volts of electricity into Deku’s back.

The hero growled, turning around in an attempt to attack Kaminari, only to be blocked by Kirishima and receive a left hook to his face. His neck made an audible snap as he grit his teeth.

Then, all of a sudden, the three heroes nodded and darted off, leaving a stunned Deku and a screaming Mitsuki on the porch of the house.

———

It took him a whole full minute to understand what was happening. Suddenly he wasn't fighting anymore, just standing in the middle of the yard.

"You fucking idiot! They have the child!" Mitsuki’s words were high-pitched and in a really loud volume.

"Why the fuck didn't you stop them? You're fucking useless!" Her angry voice was making him anxious.

"You should have stopped them from coming inside! Now they'll give the child to that stupid omega I got for a son!" Green eyes looked straight to the blonde woman.

"What are we gonna do now!? Useless Alpha!" The dam broke.

Izuku flew against her, putting his hands around her neck, his green eyes full of anger and frustration. Mitsuki was an annoyance and she let the heros take his pup. She was an annoyance now. Izuku just needed her to shut up.

She screamed as much as possible, but his hands never left her neck, putting more and more pressure on the sensitive skin around her throat. His hold tightened, cutting her oxygen off until a soft breaking sound echoed through the air. He was deaf to it, though, and only the draining of fight made him release her, leaving her pale skin bruised.

She was finally silent. Her eyes were open, and perhaps her lips had a slight blue hue, but that was no matter. He smiled, now he could concentrate on getting his pup and mate back.

He was not going to let his Kacchan slip through his fingers, no now that he had him after years of waiting.

———

Hanta and Sero were cuddling on the couch with Kazuki when they heard a knock at the door. Sero peeked through the peephole in the door, seeing Todoroki and Hana standing outside.

Hanta quickly opened the door, and Todoroki rushed inside. “I let the others know I made it back, and they have disengaged. We must go now, before Deku comes back,” Shoto panted.

Katsuki rushed over to the two of them, Kazuki bundled up in his arms. He cried in relief upon seeing Hana, who had calmed now that she could smell her mother.

Shoto handed the omega his pup, who quickly scented her. “T-thank you guys,” Bakugou croaked out, his voice watery.

Shoto sympathetically nodded. “Of course, Katsuki. We are your friends. However, we must go before Deku catches up to us.”

“Go? Go where?” Katsuki asked with wide eyes.

That was when Sero asked, “Can you take us to your place Todoroki? It’s the closest, I think.”

Todoroki paused, then nodded. “Of course, though I don’t think I have the place pup-proofed. It will only be temporary, so it should be fine.”

“Great dude! Lead the way!” Sero exclaimed, and they all hustled out of the apartment, Sero carrying the baby bag for Katsuki, who was cooing down at both of his pups, his soft purrs audible.

“Where are we going?” Katsuki asked Sero softly, and Sero hummed.

“I don’t quite know, honestly. I haven’t been to Todoroki’s place before,” he responded, his eyes carefully scanning their surroundings to ensure no green headed alpha was following them.

“You’ve never been to Todoroki’s?” Katsuki asked, confused. Were they not courting? He felt a flutter of hope in his stomach at the thought.

“No? Why would I?” Sero asked, turning his gaze to Katsuki.

Katsuki took a deep breath. He had to know. “I-I thought you two were courting each other,” he stuttered, averting his eyes.

“Courting? No! I don’t like Todoroki like that!” Sero exclaimed in surprise.

“Oh…” Katsuki murmured, “I see…Is it another omega then? Is that why you moved?”

“What? Moved?”

Sero looked down at Katsuki, only to be interrupted by Todoroki. “We’re here. Come, let’s go inside quickly. I let the others know where we went and they should be here shortly.”

They shuffled into the house, the door clicking quietly behind them. “Sero,” Katsuki muttered, “why did you move?”

Todoroki watched the exchange silently, watching as Sero mulled over his answer. The alpha awkwardly scratched the back of his head and chucked.

“Honestly, Kats, it was because I wanted to work with you again…” Sero trailed off.

However, it seemed like that was the wrong answer. Katsuki looked like someone had killed both of his pups in front of him. He clutched both babies closer to him, and his bangs obscured the view of his misty eyes. “Oh- I see,” he sniffled. “Y-you may want to return to Hawks, then. I- I can’t just- just return back to hero work. Deku is probably going to take my agency now that I disobeyed him,” he choked out, his pups whining in distress at the rapidly souring scent.

Sero didn’t know what to do. All he knew was that his alpha was screaming to comfort his distressed omega. So he did. “Hey, shhh, Kats it’s ok. We’ll figure it out. Todoroki and I are going to take Deku down, and you’ll be free,” he muttered, petting Bakugou’s hair gently.

“S-stop! Just stop!” Katsuki screamed, his body quaking from his cries. “I-I know I won’t become a hero again. I get it! I’m just a useless garbage omega that no one will ever want! I’m used! I-I-“

Sero hardened, growling at the self-depreciation spilling out of his omega’s mouth. “Omega, none of that is true. You are still beautiful Kats. Just as beautiful as in high school. Lots of people will still want you. I want you.”

“Y-you can’t just say that! T-Todoroki is right there!” Katsuki gasped, looking horrified. “Y-you- He-he’s a much better omega than me and I know you love him!”

Sero’s mouth gaped. He was absolutely floored. Katsuki thought he was in love with Shoto? “Baby- wait- I-I don’t love Shoto! I told you we weren’t even courting!” he exclaimed, desperate for the omega to believe him.

“B-but! I- Deku- There were pictures! You two were together- on a date or something- and- and you can’t love me!” Katsuki panted, tears running down his face. By now, Hana and Kazuki were both wailing with their mother, but he was in too much distress to establish a state-of-mind where he could soothe them.

Sero swallowed, carefully stepping towards Katsuki and tipping his head back so their eyes met. Watery red met deep obsidian, and Sero whispered, “Angel, I don’t love Todoroki. I love you. I called Todoroki so I could help you, Kats. You’re the only omega for me, baby.”

———

Izuku was livid as he slammed the door to their apartment open. It was empty. Nothing had been cleaned since that disaster; the cradles were empty and things were still lying on the floor from Katsuki’s silly little rebellion.

Growling, he descended down a floor to rap on Sero’s apartment. They had to be in here. They just had to.

When he received no answer, he jiggled the doorknob, only to find it locked. In a fit of rage, he roared and activated One for All, smashing the door down and leaving splintered wood in his wake.

Like the apartment upstairs, this one was empty. The only sign someone was here recently were the balled up tissues on the coffee table.

Deku was furious. Everything, after years and years of making Katsuki perfect, was all being destroyed. And Katsuki was just getting to be so good.

Izuku took a deep breath as he saw red. His pupils narrowed into slits.

When he found his omega, he would make sure there would be hell to pay. His omega would never get an opportunity to be disobedient again.

Kaachan would be his. Always.

———

When the rest of the squad arrived at Todoroki’s house, they were roughed up but satisfied. Kirishima would still love to see Deku’s head on a spike after how he had been treating his best friend, but at least he got a lot of good hits in.

Kirishima also felt guilt eating away at him. He wasn’t that far from Katsuki, but he never pushed to check up on him. He just bought every excuse Katsuki gave to him, pushing down the skepticism he felt towards Katsuki’s and Izuku’s relationship.

He knew about Katsuki’s failed confession to Sero, even if Katsuki never once told him. Katsuki avoiding their friend group was enough to clue them all in that something had happened between Sero and Katsuki, with Katsuki making up constant excuses to skip squad hangouts and Sero’s guilt coming off in waves.

Kirishima thought that Katsuki had moved on and that Izuku would treat him right. He should have known that Katsuki only let a select few into his heart and was not so fast to get over heartbreak. If anything, he would just try to push the negativity away until it festered into something unhealthy.

Even with his maturation after the provisional hero license and subsequent extra courses he had to take to get his license, he still had a horrible habit of ignoring his feelings. Kirishima was supposed to be his friend though; he was supposed to help.

“Oi, Shitty Hair,” Katsuki grunted. He looked almost shy, his eyes averted to the ground. “I-I just wanted to say thanks. For getting Hana back…and for being there with me through high school.”

Kirishima was left gaping. “Of course, dude! Honestly I’m so-”

“Don’t you dare apologize, Kirishima.”

Kirishima was left stunned. Katsuki used his name. None of the endearing nicknames that Kirishima had grown used to. He used his actual name. Katsuki was looking down softly at his pups.

“I-I- could have said something. And I should have said something the moment things got strange with Deku. But I didn’t, and it’s not your fault. I- I just didn’t want anyone seeing me as weak. I wanted to believe that I could handle my own shit and it wouldn’t get out of control,” he muttered, sniffling slightly.

“Y-yea of course dude,” Eijirou gulped.

Mina and Denki jumped up. “Can we meet our niece and nephew now!” they exclaimed excitedly. Katsuki grinned, introducing Hana and Kazuki who, with wide eyes, were taking in the new strangers’ appearances and scents. They babbled, holding their hands out to try and interact with the new adults, and got soft coos in return over their cuteness.

Things finally seemed to be going right for once.
