Work Text:
Tanya
"Good morning brother" I told my older sibling as he casually sauntered into the kitchen "Breakfast will be ready shortly, please sit at the table and enjoy your morning coffee" she finished, gesturing at her brother's usual spot at their shared table, a warm cup of the mu d of the gods as well as a fresh newspaper waiting for her beloved older brother to peruse at his leisure.
It was a bit of a morning ritual for the both of them for the last decade or so, ever since it turned out their now deceased father had an... indiscreet affair with obvious consequences, so to speak. Thankfully, both Tanya and her recently discovered half-brother of a heir to the Yoshikage household quickly found some common ground and peacefully coexisted until a genuine sibling bond started to form.
In her first life she would've most likely sneered at her new brother and his lack of drive to succeed, stuck in a middle-management dead-end job as he was. In her second she probably would've just dismissed him as just another civilian or, if she knew better, pushed him to join logistics so she could have a competent and trustworthy ally in the back lines.
Now, after all of her struggles? She saw the unquestionable wisdom of his actions, and wished for nothing more but to share his dream.
A simple, peaceful and quiet life, void of risk and personal struggle driving her to the brink of life and death. A dream for a simple and easy life that she knew her beloved older brother shared as well.
"So, do you have any plans for today after work?" she asked as she dexterously flipped the piece of fried fish she was preparing. Her brother always had his eyes glued to her hands as she worked the kitchen when he thought she wasn't looking, and it was quite a pleasant feeling to have her manual skills around the stove to be recognized by her beloved brother.
"Hmm, not really" he replied after taking a sip of his coffee "I thought about just spending the afternoon in the park"
"Is that so? How splendid" Tanya responded as she placed the finished breakfast dish before her brother, his eyes tracing the way she put down every dish and piece of kitchenware, to assure all of it was placed properly, she assumed. Every few weeks or so her brother would just take an entire afternoon or even an entire day to just lounge around in the Morioh park, and she was glad for it. Clearly, he wasn't a workaholic and found a healthy balance of work and personal life by enjoying the carefully sculpted nature of the public park every now and again. "I will be attending my courses as usual, though I may return much later home tonight" she continued as she sat at the table herself and started working on demolishing her own meal.
"Oh?" her brother interjected, taking a sip from his half-empty coffee cup "That is unusual of you, dear sister of mine".
"Apparently, my apprenticeship with the Speedwagon Foundation includes a clause for providing assistance to any visiting higher-ups" she replied, before enjoying another soft, buttery bite of her fish fillet "The work is optional, of course, and fully paid besides. I could refuse it, obviously, but it would look very well on my resume down the line if I accepted" she continued, chasing the fish with some steamed vegetables "From the description I got in the mail, the job would probably amount to nothing more than just showing an old board member around the town as a glorified tourist guide until they got bored and spend the rest of the month in a hotel or something"
"Is that so? That really does sound like a wonderful career-advancement opportunity for you, Tanya" Kira responded as he was just finishing his lovingly-prepared breakfast.
"Thanks" she replied with a wide smile and a faint blush. These little acts of affection in the form of kind words from her brother still caught her off guard sometimes. A lifetime of loneliness, followed by a lifetime of war would do that to a person, she imagined. This is why she treasured these precious few instances of her brother showing his soft side towards herself all the much more.
Oh, how embarrassing. She was so lost in thought about her happiness with this new idyllic lifestyle of hers, that she knocked down the small bowl of soy sauce by accident as she was reaching for another serving of rice. Worst of all, it poured all over her left hand! Not being one to waste food, she quickly suckled all the flavour she could from her fingers, consigning the spilled sauce to oblivion and the stained table cloth to a washing cycle or two.
Breakfast ending, Kira Yoshikage left his house for work, while Tanya Yoshikage cleaned the dishes with a happy and satisfied hum, content in her wonderful and peaceful life. Her classes didn't start in another two hours, and she didn't even need to attend them, considering her 'scholarship mentor' would be arriving today.
So much extra credit for easy work showing an old man around a peaceful town like Morioh! It all was just oh so wonderful!

Kira
The Devil tempted me again this morning, but I remained strong.
I was called into my personal torture chamber once again this morning, the Daemon smirking at me when I sat down.
I watched her nimble hands working the iron-cast skillet, her deft fingers manipulating spoons and forks and spatulas like a maestro working an entire ten-man orchestra. Her svelte digits chopping and slicing and dicing ingredients until they turned into small culinary miracles.
I didn't even know how they tasted like. All I could think of while consuming the product of my sister's efforts was the way her knuckle joints moved and bent under her pale, soft and creamy layer of skin; how her thumb danced around the knife avoiding its edge by just a fraction of a fraction of a millimetre, how she-
Ah, how she did her everything~
No. Stay focused. Drink your coffee. Eat you breakfast. Read your newspaper. Pack up your lovingly-prepared snacks, go to work, finish work, pick a new girlfriend, go to the park and enjoy an afternoon together. Stay in line. Survive.
All the while fantasizing about his sister writing her new paper by hand, soft thumbs of her gentle fingers squeezing a generic pen in place as she continued with her dissertation; her svelte digits combing through her blonde locks as she moved her perfectly trimmed fingernails through her fluffy blonde locks in frustration at a particularly difficult problem, the way she-
No, this was wrong. He should not be having these kinds of thought, especially not now.
"I'm sorry my dear" he said to his newest lover, stroking her hand gently "I was just a little occupied with family matters, but this is joyous day is all about you and me, so let's forget all about that and enjoy ourselves instead" he continued, while placing a gentle kiss upon his lover's knuckles.
"...Is that so? How fascinating~" Kira continued, lounging in the shadow of a tree in the park he so often visited.
No one was looking, so he quickly placed his girlfriends hand against his mouth, kissing it softly, before placing her finger inside his mouth. He sucked and licked on it greedily, enjoying the taste while it lasted, the texture being divine as always, the experience as glorious as usual...
...almost as glorious as usual. There was something missing.
Some integral part of the experience wasn't to be found. It was lacking in just- something!
Kira was confused. The physical experience was all there, the hand as beautiful, pristine as he always loved it to be. But... but, something he loved just wasn't there. He wanted more.
These fingers of the random girl he found; he didn't see her digits skilfully chop an onion, didn't see them fillet a fresh fish, didn't witness her knuckles straining against her pale skin as she held a coffee cup or picked up a pair of chopsticks or tried to-
Kira Yoshikage had a revelation as he looked at the disembodied hand in his possession. A piece of dead flesh. A temporary relief. A collection of meat, skin and bone that would serve as nothing but a pale imitation of the real thing that had been insidiously consuming his thoughts for years now.
He stood at a crossroads now, he realized. To remove all of these new feelings, along with its pure, loving and innocent source, to return to his quiet and peaceful life... or to submit fully, hoping for acceptance from the source of his affection.
「Killer Queen」
Kira intoned, the expression of his very soul materializing and touching the piece of female flesh before exploding it into oblivion.
He grit his teeth, molars grinding against one another as the ash and dust evaporated into the air. These kinds of unsatisfying episodes had been happening more and more lately.
Why?
Why!?
WHY!!!
He spent over a decade living his quiet and peaceful life just living the best life he possibly could. No worries, no hardships, just a slow and peaceful grind, day after day.
Then, she arrived, like a a violent army invading his personal life.
A supposed half-sister of his. She had the looks, to be sure, with the rare blonde hair and the discreet genetic testing he ordered all but confirming the relation between them.
She didn't even try to drain money from him, as he halfway suspected at the beginning. She appeared to truly be a long-lost half-sister of his. A driven one if he had to be honest, studying at the local university, applying for and getting scholarships, working hard every day to be just a little more than she was yesterday. Preparing breakfast for him every morning, and a supper whenever she could. A perfect sibling in every conceivable way.
And it was absolutely killing him.
It would've took a fraction of a second to order his 「Killer Queen」to touch his sister, to end her life and end with him getting a pair of beautiful hands, fingernails trimmed to perfection, to lick and suck until the meat rots enough for him to discard the entire thing and find a new lover...
But... what then?
Who will slice and dice his meat every morning? Who will welcome him to sip a morning coffee as her svelte digits portion out the food with a beatific smile on her face?
Who will ask about his day and wish him the best as she feeds him handcrafted breakfast every day, but this beautiful sister of his?
Kira Yoshikage tries to control his breath, for he knows the answer...
...and he is afraid of the true meaning of the question.
