Chapter Text
Naruto & Sasuke: 8 years old
It was a Friday, autumn afternoon, and rain poured down from the sky. The sound of heavy rain drops and rubber car tires on the asphalt filled the air as a blonde boy sat by a tree. He was soaked to the bone with rainwater, as the cold started to get to him. He didn't move though, watching calmly as the rain fell all over the green grass. Watching the rain gave him a sort of escape. Made him forget about things that made him unhappy and let him relax for a while.
Suddenly he no longer felt rain on the top of his head but looking ahead of him he still saw pellets of rain falling. He looked up and saw the was an umbrella held over him by a pale hand, and as he followed it there was an equally pale face of a boy that had dark blue hair. They looked about the same age too. Before he could speak, the pale one spoke first.
"Why're you just sitting in the rain? You're going to catch a cold, dummy." His voice was stern and it reminded him of a parent scolding a child.
"I'm not a dummy!" He retaliated. "I'm out here because I like the rain, I'll be fine." He crossed his arms, starting to shiver and sniffle now and then. He clearly was not 'fine'.
The pale boy didn't believe him,, a small scowl appearing on his face. "Come with me, I'll bring you home." He looked down at the blonde, studying his features and realizing how blue his eyes were before an answer was given to him. He simply nodded, standing up from his spot under the tree and faced the other.
"I'm Naruto! What's your name?" The boy-well Naruto had a smile on his face. It was genuine and sweet. Sickingly sweet to the other boy.
"Sasuke." He said simply, starting to head off into the direction back to town as Naruto quickly caught up with him, making them walk side by side. The walk was silent and short, and before Sasuke knew it he was at Naruto's house. Naruto energetically waved before running inside, leaving Sasuke in the rain. For a minute or two he didn't move, replaying what happened in the last 10 or so minutes in his mind before he snapped back into reality. He started walking home, realizing he'll probably never see this Naruto figure again.
