Chapter Text
ONE
You were drinking tea while talking with John about the new case but you couldn't just get your mind on it. You kept on glancing on your mobile phone for updates, which Sherlock noticed — of course, he's Sherlock, how can he not?
"Y/N?" He called.
"Yes, Sherlock?"
"Did Mycroft give you another work?" Sherlock asked.
"Yeah- No, not your brother. But yes, I have work." Your cellphone got a notification from an unknown number. "And I believe that's my cue."
You turned to leave Sherlock and John's flat to go to yours which is just a floor below. You tied your hair up and changed your clothes into your usual fighting attire. A black jumpsuit that zips up to your chin. You slid your pocket knives and blade into your jumpsuit and put handguns in your holster as well as a couple of small grenades.
Sherlock was standing outside your door making you startled when you opened it. "What the hell, Sherlock! Don't scare me like that!"
"Sherlock is worried about you, Y/N." John butted in.
"Awh, Sherlock~" You cooed, teasing him.
"Shut it," Sherlock let out an audible sigh. "Why did you have to say that?"
"Say what?" You innocently asked back.
"Almost like you wouldn't be able to make it out alive," John murmured.
"I will, John, I promise..." You sincerely said, before turning back. You would not be able to get your job done in time if you stay even just for a minute.
"Be careful, Y/N!" John shouted.
"I always am!" You shouted back. You gave a salute using two of your fingers before heading out. You got your big bike out of the garage and used it to speed off.
You stopped at an unfamiliar place. You slowly made your way to the abandoned building in front of you, lurking around the place with a gun in hand. It seems empty.
You stood up straight and continued walking normally, still on high alert. You checked all around the five-story building. Still nothing.
You were on the fifth floor when you heard a noise from the first floor. You traveled your eyes around the place to find a way to go back down quickly. You found a rope that you think is enough to reach the second floor.
You secured it to the rails and used the rope to go down. You jumped down when you reached the second floor, getting yourself ready to stand on your feet.
The fall would only last two seconds but it felt like an eternity. You had some strange feeling while falling, some sort of energy breaking your stance. You brace yourself for the fall and closed your eyes. In a split second, you were already on the ground.
You stood up quickly from the grass. Grass... Grass?! Why are you outside?! You felt your head spinning when you stood up, you see a person running toward you. Standing your ground, you switched your gun to knives. With your blurry vision you aren't guaranteed to shoot precisely, are you?
A redhead lady was running towards you while reaching her pocket, you vaguely see what was it but by how she was holding it, it was a gun.
You threw the knives in the air, catching them in both hands in different ways — hammer and reverse grip — getting ready to face what was coming.
SHERLOCK WAS PACING back and forth in the flat.
"Sherlock, will you settle down?" John's voice echoed through the quiet flat, Sherlock's shoes going back and forth is the only noise that can be heard. "I'm sure she'll be back in no time. You know the traffic at this hour." He tried to console Sherlock and himself. You've been gone for 128 hours.
"I need you to track me down if I'm not able to return in 120 hours from my next mission..." Was the exact words you said when you received the files about the next job you'd be needing to get done.
"John- Traffic? Really? She should be back by last night," Sherlock paused. "I need your phone, John."
He handed him his phone, Sherlock typed on it. The door to their flat was suddenly opened. It was Mycroft.
"Great, Mycroft, I was just about to call you." Sherlock calmly said as he handed back the phone to John.
"Where's Y/N?" Mycroft asked, putting down a folder on the table.
"That's funny, Mycroft, we have the same question." Sherlock monotoned. Mycroft's eyebrow creased. "What mission did you put her in this time?" He added.
John picked up the folder. "Y/N went on a mission 5 days ago, Mycroft, she said she had a job. She hasn't contacted us since then."
Mycroft arranged his computer geniuses employees. Couldn't bear to lose his best assassin, couldn't he? You always get the job done.
D.I. Lestrade was also there to see if he could be any help. And Sherlock doesn't acknowledge that Anderson was also there since he was with Greg earlier.
"Still nothing?"
A loud beeping sound attracted their attention to one of the many computers in the room with them. They stood behind the man on the chair. "I've managed to hack through the CCTV and track her motorcycle, Sir." He briefly explained before pressing a button on the keyboard to play the footage.
It showed from where you got out your motorcycle from the garage, to where you take a lot of turns — making tracking you less easy — to when you stopped in front of an abandoned building.
Only one camera was working in the crappy building, it was also glitchy and pausing a lot of times that they didn't know if you got away or you really did disappear to nowhere.
"Maybe she just wanted to get off your arrogant arse." Anderson concluded.
"Don't talk out loud, Anderson. You lower the IQ of the whole street." Sherlock uttered annoyingly, hand on his forehead. "John, we need to find her and figure out a way to get her back."
