— Ningguang, Beidou. I’m glad you were able to make time today, I know how busy you are.
Zhongli was welcoming the parents in his office.
— It’s okay Zhongli, we always have time for our little Kazuha ! Beidou patted her son’s head while Ningguang was checking her notebook. The business woman frowned and checked her wrist.
— But still, we need to make this quick because I have an appointment and- Beidou snatched her notebook from her hands before she could even finish her sentence. Zhongli cleared his throat and the meeting began.
— So I called you because I found out your son in a certain position. As a family’s friend, I wanted to close my eyes on the matter but as the head of the school, I couldn’t bring myself to ignore what he did during the exams.
— What the fuck did you do Kazuha ? Did you cheat ? Didn’t I tell you that you can’t afford to get caught ? This is embarrassing. Beidou scolded her son but Ningguang scolded her back because of what she said.
— Beidou ! Don’t fucking swear !
Zhongli sighed.
— What ? That’s life, things are bad only when you get caught.
— Ma, I didn’t cheat ! Kazuha defended himself and Beidou rolled her eyes, not believing him.
— He didn’t cheat at all. Kazuha doesn’t need to cheat on exams, he is one of the best students of this school. Zhongli defended the boy while Beidou was avoiding her son’s and wife’s disappointed looks.
— I knew you weren’t like that son, I just wanted to act strict in front of your mom because she always says I’m too nice with you and your sister.
— Stop talking already. Ningguang replied, causing her wife to turn around so she could laugh in the less disrespectful possible.
— Kazuha helped his fellow classmate to cheat. Plus, he gave him the wrong answers.
— Wow Kazuha, that’s like…really bad. I’m disappointed. Very disappointed. Beidou tried her strict parenting again and Kazuha looked at his feet, pretending to be ashamed of what he did.
— Who was the other classmate Kazuha ? Ningguang calmly asked with her arms crossed, unlike Beidou overdramatic’s expression, she had a straight face.
— It was Scaramouche Mom, he offered me money. I saw a business opportunity. Beidou groaned when she heard the classmate’s name, especially since she disliked his parents.
— That’s my son ! Attaboy ! Ningguang smiled and hugged her son tight, she realized what she did and she cleared her throat awkwardly.
— I mean…Kazuha, that’s really bad…and uh….. She looked at her wife, looking for words to say. Beidou whispered loudly in her ear. Loudly enough for everyone in the room to hear.
— Say you’re disappointed and that he will be grounded !
— Okay, Kazuha, your mother and I are extremely disappointed and you will be grounded, definitely grounded.
— Yes…
Ningguang said and Beidou winked at her, proud of their parenting methods. Zhongli knew the couple and their child very well, Kazuha was not a problematic at all. They raised him well despite being very busy with their respective careers. They weren’t the most perfect parents but they tried their best.

— Wait, is this the actual reason you’re upset ?
— Yes ! Ningguang replied and everyone just silently stared at her, not surprised. Kazuha tried to test the waters.
— So I’m really grounded ?
— You are SO grounded Mister Kazuha. That’s a terrible way to run a business. 50 000 moras for a 100 questions test ? What the fuck is wrong with you ? Who raised you ?
— Don’t fucking swear Ning ! Beidou imitated her wife and the latter rolled her eyes.
— Kazuha I hope you realize that your behavior was wrong. Your punishment is…some detention for next week. I will be kind with you because this is the first time.
Kazuha sadly nodded, accepting his fate while Zhongli was doing his job. Zhongli gave a handshake to Beidou while Kazuha had his hands in his pockets.
— Is Ningguang okay ?
— Yes, she just needs time to process. You know how she gets with money…
— Beidou, I need you to be stricter with Kazuha. He doesn’t make the difference between the good and the wrong, business speaking.
— 50 000 moras…Risking his place for this little money… Ningguang was mumbling while crushing the lollipop in her mouth as they were walking outside Zhongli’s office. They met the fellow classmate and his parents in the hall. Therefore, the tension was electric.
— Oh my, Ningguang and Beidou. Fancy to see you. Still causing trouble to our dear friend Zhongli. The pink haired smirked when she saw the other family.
— Egg, Mayo. Good to see you. Beidou mispronounced their names because she was just being petty. Kazuha tried not to laugh while Ningguang kept herself busy so she could avoid the reactions of their rivals. It worked since Ei rolled her eyes, clearly upset. Her wife held her back while she tried to jump on Beidou.
— Still childish as ever. Let’s go. Miko pushed her family to the Zhongli’s office, ignoring Beidou mocking them. Once they were alone again, Ningguang grabbed her wife’s arm as they were heading out.
— Did you call her egg ?
Ningguang laughed at loud resting her head on her wife’s shoulder.
— Yes, I did. They are so annoying, they think they are perfect.
— I’m so glad I snitched Scaramouche. Kazuha added. But he should have kept it quiet.
— Young man, there’s nothing to be proud of. You did the worst of business possible and you got caught.
— Ning, you agree with me ?
— Of course, I was just acting strict in front of Zhongli. I don’t want him to give us a scolding like he did last time.
Ningguang smiled at her wife who started imitating their friend, causing the trio to laugh.
— Why are you laughing ? Are you not ashamed of yourself ? Are you not embarrassed ? Ningguang stopped laughing so did Kazuha, showing a stoic face.
— Mom, listen. I know it sucked but I needed to settle things with Scaramouche. So I put myself in the fire in order to drag him with me. The truth is that you always taught me to help the helpless, so I put a lower price in order to allow most students to get good grade.
— Scaramouche was not the only one ? You gave him the wrong answers on purpose ?
— Yes, I got 20 clients. I’m a legend around here. I’ll show you my business plan at home.
— So you made a million moras ? Come here my baby. Ningguang took Kazuha in his arms so she could hug him tightly and shower him with kisses. Beidou sighed as she was watching her wife hugging their son, shedding tears of happiness because he turned to be a good opportunist just like her.
