Waking up in a random bed and old house is surprising enough but finding out that you also have a new family and happened to be living in the hunger games universe is maybe a bit to much to process.
You did like the movies and the books but living in a dystopian universe with no wifi and a annual deadly last man standing game was definitely not something to look forward to.
To top it off the reaping was today
and you were sixteen hopefully you didn't have much tessera in your name so you would be less likely to be chosen.
You heard your 'mom'? Yell out that somebody was at the door wanting to see you. You walked out the room and headed to the door were you saw Katniss Evedeen looking exactly like she did in the movies clothes and all. "Hey Robin, come on we are suppose to meet up with Gale" Katniss said.
Not knowing what else to do you followed her which ended up with basically a repeat of the scene in the movie except with you third wheeling. It was a bit akward when Gale brought up having kids to and like in the movie it got on Katniss. The topic of tessera came up they were discussing how much tessera they had gotten not knowing how much you had you just said the same amount as Katniss. You figured that most people needed tessera for their families to survive. And with you being friends with Katniss and Gale you definitely would have had gotten tessera.
Eventually it moved on to them bringing out the bread and goat cheese. You all ate the food you didn't fill hungry and Katniss and Gale would benefit more. After that you all decided to head home to get ready for the reaping. When you arrived home your so called mom told you to go wash up which including taking a bath and brushing out you hair and putting on some old dress your 'mom' made you wear. You noticed that nobody else was getting ready for the reaping you figured that you did not have siblings or if you did they were to old for the reaping.
Once you finished getting ready you walked out the door your and followed the other kids heading for the reaping. You caught up with Katniss and Prim pretty quickily realived you were around someone you sorta knew. As you got closer to the square you all got in line with the kids to get your blood drawn. Prim panicked a bit but Katniss was able to calm her down and they both got their blood drawn. Then it was your turn as the women pricked your finger you flinched but quickly walked off to stay near Katniss. Prim had already gone off to stand with the other twelve year old.
It was not that loud in the square everyone to stress about possibly being one of the two reaped. Effie came up and did her little speech and then the video played and she walked up to the glass bowl for the females. She reached in moved her hand around a bit then pulled out a slip of paper and exactly like the movie she said the name Primrose Everdeen. Unlike in the movie though after a few seconds you saw Katniss's devastated face and before you could think your hand shot up. "I volunteer as tribute."
