Chapter Text
Gord’s eyes fluttered open as sunlight shone through the parted curtains of his dorm room at the Harrington House. He watched the dust particles in the air dance around the rays of light, threatening to land on his desk, bedside table, and picture frames. Lazily, he flopped over and cuddled up next to the warm breathing mass beside him.
“Wait… what?”
He shot upright and a sharp pain struck him in his temples. A hangover? Gord didn’t remember drinking last night. He looked around his room for any clues, and spotted an empty bottle of gin on the floor. “That’s right,” Gord had remembered, “last night was Derby’s 18th birthday.” Derby always made sure his parties included lots of alcohol and loud music, and Gord had in fact been drinking. A lot.
The thing beside him stirred and groaned. Gord looked down and saw that it was none other than that smart-mouthed poor kid Jimmy Hopkins beside him. Shirtless. Jimmy’s shoulders were broad and pale, and had lots of freckles spotted around. Despite him still having his puppy fat at 18 years of age, his back was clearly toned as well. Gord looked down at himself and realized he, too, was shirtless. No, more than that. Gord was in bed with Jimmy Hopkins, and he was only in his underwear. What happened last night? Was Hopkins wearing anything under his blankets? Gord didn’t dare to look, but the thought of a filthy poor boy’s underwear -or worse- touching his bedsheets disgusted him. He doubted that Jimmy cared about washing in between anything.
Slowly, so as to not wake the still sleeping Jimmy, Gord left his bed and grabbed his Aquaberry pyjama pants from the floor, quickly putting them on. His head pounded with each sluggish step as he made his way to the bathroom. He splashed cold water on his face and looked at himself in the mirror.
“Why is that Jimmy Hopkins kid in my bed? Was he at Derby’s party? Surely Derby wouldn’t have invited him. Did something happen between us last night?”
That thought made him chuckle. No, nothing could have possibly happened between Gord Vendome and Jimmy Hopkins. Frankly it was a ridiculous thought to have, considering Gord would never lower his standards to such a degree. Oh, and he isn’t gay.
After doing his morning business, Gord walked back to his dorm. The hallways of Harrington House were littered with booze bottles, food, and knocked over furniture and party decorations. The events of last night were hazy in the boy's mind. He remembered Tad and Bif picking up Derby and throwing him into the pool from the main balcony. He definitely remembered Lola trying to come on to him and Johnny making a big deal out of it. However, Gord had no recollection of Jimmy at the party at all. “Maybe,” Gord hoped, “it was just a delusion brought on by too much alcohol, and when I open the door to my room, my bed will be empty.”
