You're the Same, Always Changing

Summary:

[Art & Drabble]

Langa returns to Okinawa after his college graduation. Ainosuke makes time to meet him. The atmosphere between them is calmer, more mature, but still intensely charged. Different, but just like always.

Work Text:

Langa pushes at Adam because he wants to learn what else is interesting about him. He’s always done this. Adam is a little smaller and less intimidating to Langa now. It just gets easier and easier for him to push. He wants to know. They’re a distraction for each other from pain and grief, though it’s ambiguous whether either of them really know it.

Langa has a lot to think about after being back. So, he asks Adam to meet him.

It didn’t take long for Langa to test Adam. Langa is taller now. Not much bigger, but stronger. Still infuriatingly pretty, and a little mysterious because of how quiet he gets when he would rather stare. His gaze is intense, and he dares to kiss Adam without asking.

Adam allows it. Then he really allows it.

Ainosuke is breathy when he finally says, “You're still full of surprises."

Langa blinks slowly once, then smiles, though it doesn't quite reach his eyes. He asks, "I haven't changed?"

Ainosuke sighs softly through his nose, mouth pursed. He remembers now, that this one’s troublesome once he’s set his mind.

"You have. Is that what you want to hear?"

Langa leans in close again, eyes searching, hungry, "Teach me something new, Adam. Like you did before."

Ainosuke makes Langa wait, their faces too close for this silence. Langa's breathing in that way that's just a little too wet, just a little too heavy. It's feral, and Adam can smell it.

"You wasted my cigarette, so maybe I will,” Adam breaks away, straightening his posture.

“Get in the car."
