Reflection upon these stars

Summary:

Lilac loved to clean his chakrams
However, he kind of wished Yogurt wasn't so interested in them

Work Text:

Lilac gently rubbed a little piece of fabric over his chakrams, carefully cleaning them off to avoid any imperfection. There weren't many things that mattered to him. Lilac wasn't especially someone material, he didn't like to get attached to get attached to his possessions. But his weapons were a small exception. He enjoyed seeing them shine under the moonlight, be so perfectly clean that they reflected his image in the soon-to-be dirtied metal. He liked using them too, will it be for training or actual fights, and getting them dirty wasn't exactly something he disliked. But this simple activity of taking care of his belongings proved to be quite soothing for the man.

"You clean your weapons quite often Lilac ... I've rarely ever seen any piece of metal this shiny, even in my own collection."

"... I would rather not hear your comments on my Chakrams, especially if it's to compare them to your collection. You know exactly how I feel about it."

"Okay, okay. I know you don't like my treasures, but don't get angry ! They're precious to me, after all. In my eyes, that was a compliment."

"Tch."

Lilac glared at the man who simply looked down with a sad smile and went back to reading his book. The bodyguard sighed and silently clenched his hand just a little more, thinking that he might've been a little too harsh. That's what he'd tried to be for the last few months but ... With time, it was getting hard. He'd tried not to get attached to Yogurt, he really did. For a while, he even tried to avoid speaking around the man all together. But Yogurt had a comforting presence. A kind of sweet innocence that you can get angry at for a bit, but that you always end up forgiving. The reason why Lilac tried not to get attached to anything was because it was always meant to disappear. At any moment in time, as soon as he would be done, he would jump on his next mission, abandoning everything behind him, and most likely killing the ones he'd been the closest to. But this particular mission had lasted for too long. And his feelings were growing stronger despite his best efforts to keep them hidden.

Lilac finally put down the piece of fabric and lifted his chakrams towards the window, admiring their reflection of the stars and moon. The light was just powerful enough to bring a small faint glow to his own eyes.

"Lilac, do you think you could show them to me ? I don't think I've ever seen them that clean."

The assassin turned around to face his friend, staring wordlessly at the man, frozen in place.

"... I get it if you don't want to. Forgive me for asking."

"I'll bring them to you."

Lilac walked towards the bed the prince had been laying upon, sat down on it and showed him the magnificent weapon. Yogurt carefully looked at the small piece of art with a smile, before suddenly grasping it and taking it near his neck, all while Lilac's hand was still holding the precious weapon.

"This Chakram ... I wonder how powerful it is. Could it slice my neck open ? Could it kill me in one hit, or sever one of my fingers with a simple cut ? I always wondered how could such a small thing be so dangerous."

They could definitely kill him with a single slice, if done correctly. Perhaps through the neck, yes. But a hit through his chest or an artery could result in a certain death as well. And that what he was supposed to be. Dead. Yogurt was innocently admiring this weapon not even imagining that it was supposed to be the one to end his life. He was playing with fire. And Lilac's brain was filled with many, many thoughts about the situation he was it. He should kill the man. Perhaps not at this instant. Maybe tomorrow ? Or the day after that ? That's what he thought every day. There was no right time for it. The mere thought of this man's blood desecrating the shine of his Chakrams made his blood rush. Yet ... Lilac smiled.

He jumped on the prince's body, pinning him against the bed and bringing the weapon even closer to his neck.

"Tell me, dear Yogurt ... Would you like to get an answers to your questions ?"

Yogurt took a few seconds to realise what happened before smiling and chuckling.

"Haha, well I think I'll pass. It would be a shame for these clean weapons to be dirtied once more, wouldn't it ?"

Lilac nodded and dropped the weapon down.

That was right, it would be too bad to dirty these now. Hence why he'll kill him tomorrow

Or the day after that
