Mind burning…
Heart yearning…
Feelings I cannot shake no matter how hard I try…
Living in my memories…
A past so deep, a life so broken…
Trying to keep the status quo…
Keeping my head down and my mission in control…
Feet moving forward, one step at a time, marching to the beat of a heart that's been battered through time…
Trying to ignore the evil that is in my dreams, the fire and the flames seeking to consume me…
Every night when I lie down, I see the face of a man, who wishes to be treated as a god, a ruler by which we must obey all commands…
I see a family broken, divided, and destroyed, a child with nowhere to go, no hope, without joy…
I see tears falling down, not knowing where to go, my next step uncertain, my fears taking hold…
The heart-less approaches, the chaos tries to control, like a hammer attempting to smash the remains of my soul…
But like a light, a beauty with eyes like sapphires comes into my picture, a new hope, a new vision, tryin' to give me new life…
The smile on her face, her childish wonder, making my heart and soul nearly go aflutter…
Her whole life has been seeking this moment in time, not knowing that the danger is quickly coming behind…
She doesn't understand, the pain I am in, she's only trying to help, but I cannot let her in…
I cannot fall in love, no matter how much I wish to give in, not while this darkness still lives within...
If only she knew how much I did care, but I cannot forget why I am here, to stop the one who's been controlling my life, my soul, and my mind, the desire of freedom that's burning inside…
So I fight, I battle, I remain strong, even as inside I try not to shatter from this hurt that's lasted so long…
So that one day we may be free, from all this evil, all this pain and suffering…
So that from young to old, boys and girls all around the world, can have a future, a hope, and dreams no longer destroyed…
Oh to be able to ride the stars, shine a light on this world, and give this beautiful angel everything in my heart…
But until that day comes, I will never surrender, I will never give in, I will never stop, till the sweet sound of freedom bells ring!
