Work Text:
“Hahah! Come back here with my eggs you rat kisser!” Cassandra screeched from across the vineyard.
“Mother said finders keepers! Be faster!” Daniela retorted to her sister as she picked up another egg from the bushes.
Cassandra ran faster, gripping her bucket firmly in her hand. It was halfway full, but there were still several more eggs to find. The vineyard had been covered with eggs by the maidens, some in plain sight and others well hidden. The maids had been sure to give the girls a fair chance at searching for the eggs. Each baring their own special treats inside. Bela’s basket had the most eggs while Daniela’s had the least amount (she kept getting distracted). Lady Dimitrescu sat in her chair, watching from afar as her ‘pet’ stood nearby. The two smiled in amusement at the girls.
“This was a rather amusing idea of your’s, Katerina. The girls seemed content with this… what did you call it again?” Alcina smiled as she curled a strand of blonde hair from the woman.
“An easter egg hunt, my lady.”
“Yes, that. Where did such an idea come from?”
“Back home, my parents used to set it up with my siblings and I. The whole family would get together for it. I thought maybe the girls would enjoy it as much as I did. They could use a little more fun.” Katerina explained as the fond memories of her childhood came flooding back to her.
Alcina leaned toward the woman, cupping her chin and turning her head to face her, “Are you saying I’m not fun?”
“N-never, my Lady! You’re an absolute joy! You’re caring, considerate, always trying to make time for the girls, making sure everyone is okay, and-” Katerina stopped in her rant as she saw the countess staring at her with a sly smirk. “Y-you just got me to spill my guts to you. Great.”
The heat rushed to Katerina’s face. A stunning blush complimented her skin as she looked away. The Lady laughed at her reaction. She couldn’t believe how easily the smaller woman had fallen into her little trap. Luckily, she didn’t have to bear much embarrassment for long as one of the tree girls approached them. Bela walked up to them with a pondering expression. Something was definitely ticking away at the young blonde’s mind. She tilted her head at the two women, staring back and forth at both of them.
“Can we help you, darling?” It was Alcina who spoke first.
“We’ve collected almost all the eggs, and neither one of us has found the golden egg. Where is it?” Bela asked with a raised brow.
“Yeah!”
“Exactly!” The two other sisters joined the eldest in the questioning.
“I hate to disappoint you girls, but I haven't the slightest on where your special egg is.” That’s when they all turned to Katerina. Questioning looks beamed on the maiden.
“Alright, alright. The egg isn’t outside. It’s in the castle. In plain sight. If you look too hard you just might miss it.”
The girls showed toothy grins as they rushed inside the castle to find their treasured egg. Katerina chuckled as she watched them swarm off. She reached a hand toward her lady, helping her out of her chair. The countess rubbed the woman’s head as she made her way into the castle. The two walked side by side, watching as the girls scurried around trying to find the egg. The Lady ordered Katerina to bring her tea to the study. When Katerina made it to the study, she spotted Lady at her desk sorting through some papers. She placed the tea on the side table and began to pour a cup for her countess. She placed the cup in front of her without further direction to. The lady grabbed the cup and took a sip of it. A warm smile placed on her face.
“Thank you, my sweet pet.” The lady reached and rubbed the top of Katerina’s head.
“Anything for you, my Lady.”
“And sweet too.”
“Heh… I guess. Also why are you working on a holiday?”
“Work never ceases for anyone, my dear.”
Katerina took the woman’s gloved hands in her own and kissed her knuckles, “You’re right, but today, today you should take this time with the girls.”
“My, my pet. You truly are a sweet little thing. Such kindness deserves a reward.”
The countess placed a gentle kiss on the woman’s lips. Katerina was surprised at first, but quickly returned the kiss with one of her own. A small noise escaped the smaller woman as she was quickly pulled into the countess’ lap. Their kiss broke briefly as the door to the study bursted open. The girls all came tumbling in. The golden egg in Daniela’s hands.
“I have it, mother!” The red head squeaked in joy.
“That’s not fair, give it back!” Cassandra said, trying to snatch the egg out of her sister’s grasp.
“No way! I found it!”
“But I grabbed it!”
“And then I grabbed it back because you can’t keep your filthy paws to yourself!”
“I believe I should have the egg since you two are behaving so badly.” Bela intervened, which was not welcomed by her other siblings.
“Yeah, right!” They shouted in an odd unison.
Lady Dimitrescu presse her forehead to Katerina’s in annoyance. She just couldn't seem to go a day without them bickering over trivial things. The maiden released a laugh she’d been holding in, it was adorable to see them fussing over an egg of all things. She kissed her Lady’s cheek in reassurance before slipping off her lap.
“Daniela gets the egg seeing as she found it.” Alcina declared. The girls all shut their mouths at their mother’s final word.
“The prize inside the egg is a note.” Katerina added in with a grin.
As Daniela opened the egg, she grabbed the piece of paper and opened it, reading aloud to everyone, “Lady for a… week!?”
“ WHAAAAAT ?!!” Bela and Cassandra stood, mouth agape and minds boggled.
“HAHHAHA! On your knees bitches-”
“DANIELA! I will not have this language in my castle! Control your tongue before I control you.”
“Y-yes, mother. I’m sorry… Comeon sister, it's time you obey the youngest for a while.”
“Wait just a second, girls! There is still one more prize left to claim.” Katerina winked at the girls and their smiles got even bigger. The girls looked to their mother as she blinked slowly. Confusion slowly rose to her face as everyone in the room stared at her.
“What is it?” She finally asked.
“You have to find your egg too, mother!” Daniela chirped.
“Oh no, I’m quite alright-”
“Please mother?”
“Don’t be a spoil sport, mom!”
“We did it so you should too!” All three girls gave their saddest puppy eyed pouts they could muster as they begged their mother to join in on the fun. Alcina turned to Katerina who also dawned a sad expression. She couldn’t say no to those faces.
“Fine.”
All the women in the room cheered as the Lady agreed to join in on the Easter Egg Hunt. the girls and their mother scurried around the castle, laughing and giggling as she tried to find her own golden egg. Katerina sneaked a few pictures of them as the hunt continued on. The other maidens were quite amused to see the Lady and her daughters having so much fun. The castle was more relaxed with the little game ensuing. It was no later than ten minutes when Lady Dimitrescu found the golden egg in the library between the books.
The girls gathered around as their mother sat down in the big chair. She opened the egg to find a nicely wrapped necklace inside of it. Her daughters couldn’t contain their giggles as she pulled the necklace up from the egg. It was a golden locket, the house crest was engraved in it with the name on the back. The Lady opened the locket up to see a picture of her three girls on the left side, and Katerina on the right. The girls watched as their mother’s smile depended, tears pricking the corners of her eyes.
“We love you, mother.” Cassandra stated as she gave her mother a warm smile
“You do so much for us, so we decided to do something for you.” Daniela added in.
Bela too had some genuine words to say for her mother, “We know how much you work and leave on short trips, but know that we’re always at your side.”
“Thank you, my beautiful, strong, daughters.”
Alcina pulled all three of her daughters into a warm embrace, they happily returned it. Katerina stood by and watched the beautiful moment unfold. This is what she wanted all along, to see the family come together. She took one last photo and smiled. Her face dropped when she caught sight of her countess peering over at her. Katerina rubbed the back of her neck nervously, until the lady reached her hand out to her. She slowly approached her as the girls slid off their mother.
“Y-yes, my Lady?” she stuttered.
“I have you to thank for all of this don’t I?” Alcina’s smile was genuine, causing a small shiver down the maidens’ back.
“W-well I…um…”
“Of course you have to thank her!” Daniela implied, hugging Katerina herself.
“She thought of this idea to get you a present in the first place.” Cassandra too added as she hugged the girl.
“The Easter Egg Hunt was just a fun way to give it to you.” Bela said with a nod as she stood beside them. She didn’t want any hugging action.
“Well you truly are a special pet.”
“P-please, it was nothing really.” Katerina’s face reddened with blush as she enjoyed the simple praises. Lady Dimitrescu, cupped her chin, picking her head up so that she could hold her deep gaze.
“There’s that blush of yours.”
“Ahahah… Please no more praises, my Lady.”
“No.”
“O-oh.” The girls behind her were giggling and whispering at her embarrassment. Another reason she’ll be teased around the castle.
“Here’s your reward, my golden pet.”
Alcina pulled the smaller woman into a passionate kiss, catching her by surprise. Katerina released a small moan as she returned it wholeheartedly. A large hand slipped down Katerina’s back, lifting her up into the countess’ lap. Her tongue ran over the maiden’s bottom lip, requesting access in which she happily accepted. The kiss deepened, another groan slipping from the small woman. Katerina’s mind flooded as she was getting caught in her mistress's intoxicating kiss, her tongue taking full control.
“Hey! We’re still here, you know.” bela huffed in annoyance, clearly over the makeout session.
Lady Dimitrescu pulled away from her small lover and let out a laugh. Katrina sat there, lipstick staining her lips and a dazed expression. The countess laughed ever more as her thumb rubbed over Katerina’s lips. The Lady carefully placed Katerina on the ground and smiled. She rose from her seat and straightened out her dress.
“Come girls, let’s celebrate this fruitful day with a feast!” Lady D suggested.
“Ohh! A feast? Race everyone there, bye!” Cassandra swarmed out the door before finishing her sentence.
“Wait a minute!” Daniela and Bela both took off after their sister.
“No running in the– Ugh. Why do I even bother?”
“Shall we, my Lady?” Katerina offered her hand to the tall countess.
“We shall.” Alcina happily agreed, taking her hand and walking out of the library.
They all sat in the dining room enjoying a feast as the countess had promised. The girls were chowing down while holding small talk. Lady Dimitrescu engaged in conversation as well, stealing occasional glances from Katerina. The small maiden smiled brightly as she sat among them at the dinner table. It truly was a happy Easter.
