The whole of Kokoro was yellow. From her hair to her outfit. Interspersed with so many other colours, but mainly yellow.
“Come on, Kaoru!”
Kaoru threw a smile on. Because she was an actress and she should be able to smile through anything. Especially when concealing one of her many fears.
There was nothing to be scared of. Truly bad events didn’t happen around Kokoro. It was as though the young woman refused their existence and so accidents wandered off to happen to people on the other side of the planet.
Hagumi’s voice called out from even further up the cliff face. “Wow! It’s so beautiful, Kokoron~”
“Isn’t it?”
Climbing up shouldn’t have been a problem. As long as she didn’t look down.
“D-Don’t worry, Kaoru-san. I’m right behind you.”
So if she fell, she would take out Kanon too.
“Worried? M-Me?” Kaoru scoffed it off.
Kokoro and Hagumi were praising Michelle, but Kaoru couldn’t make out the words they used. She heaved herself up to the next step. Kanon followed and sat down beside her.
“Can’t believe we’ve done this,” said Kanon.
Kaoru couldn’t look at the view. She could feel Kanon’s hand.
She smiled. “Oh, but I can.”
