Living in a Shadow World that isn’t in a war is a rare time. But a lot can happen in a year when they aren’t fighting for their lives.
Jace and Clary lived their lives separately —one unaware of the missing memories, people, and abilities in her life. While the other is completely aware and suffering with the knowledge that the love of his life is out there not knowing who he is. But what happened to them within the year? What happens now? Jace can’t go moments with peace to escape his heartache he runs to Los Angeles but even his time there isn’t easy. Now back in New York is he ready to face his demons?
Alec and Magnus have everything they want. They have each other and the jobs that are perfect for them. They have united the Shadow World but that isn’t without its challenges. How can they handle their personal lives plus their professional lives? Plus what hidden challenges are coming for them in Idris? Magnus has centuries of wisdom in him but even that can’t predict the role of High Warlock of Idris has in store for him.
Simon and Isabelle finally have a love that was worth waiting for but like when any relationship that’s new they are still finding out things about each other. Isabelle is also the head of the Institute and she has to learn how to balance her role as the leader of the Shadowhunters of New York and a girlfriend while Simon continues to learns to be a part of the Downworld away from his Shadowhunter friends he stumbles on something that might just bring him his best friend back.
But as the Nephilim’s change so do the Downworlder, no one more than Maia and the New York Pack who is building anew as well as her own life. But being a young pack leader is not for everyone especially when she doesn’t have her mentor to help guide her anymore but Maia is determined to build a pack worthy of Luke’s legacy as alpha.
A lot of things happens and changes in a year but a lot of things can stay just the same. Still there a many monsters that still lurk in the shadows.
