Work Text:
“This is Korra we’re talking about, Senna. You shouldn’t work yourself up so much.”
“I know, it’s just… I’m a mother. It’s my job to worry. Think about it, he’s her first boyfriend, and-”
“Honey, listen. I get that you’re concerned, I do. But honestly, Mako seems like a very respectable young man.”
As much as Tonraq didn’t want to believe it, he was in fact telling the truth. Granted, he didn’t think much of Mako when the group first came down to the Southern Water Tribe, but with a few conversations and a friendly penguin sledding race, he’d grown to respect the boy enough to be okay with this relationship.
Just as Senna was about to speak once more, they heard the front door creek open.
“Just be careful, okay?”
“I know, I know. Mom, Dad, we’re home!”
“Speaking of which…”
Hearing Korra and Mako’s voices, the two adults walked towards the living room.
“Welcome back, Ko-”
“Hello, swee-”
What they saw in front of them could only be believed if seen in person. Korra. And Mako. With a baby. A baby.
“Tenzin asked us to watch Rohan for the aft- umm, you guys okay?”
“KORRA!”
“What-”
It was too late. Tonraq was on his knees crying to La, and Senna was crying into her own hands.
“What did I tell you?! I knew something would happen! You’re too young for this, Korra!”
This was going to be a long afternoon.
