Work Text:

The bag of sugar coated candy Miwa had bought him had her marked all over it; the candy brand they both agreed was their favourite, and on the ribbon she added that little curl detail she praised him for discovering on his own while experimenting with scissors and ribbon when he was like, eight, and he still remembered thinking he must be the most clever person ever. Memories of blissful validation he didn't have to share with Iwa and Tobio chan. And good riddance to that, he hadn't come to Japan this time for them.

While his friends and family passed sweets and tea around, he sat right next to her where the heat that emanated from her was almost ticklish. His eyes traced her lips and the hair that fell over them, before she pushed them behind her ear, hair he wanted to run his fingers through. He'd dreamt over and over for a confusingly lonely year how it might feel to kiss her on the lips. It was starting to bug him, especially since she had asked him out for a coffee later on, just the two of them. If that wasn't a sign, what was?

He said 'let's go out for coffee now.' It was just an excuse to talk, nothing more, both of them knew this but weren't sure if the other shared the exact sentiment. They walked out in the warm gust of wind. He stuck right next to her as they walked. Was he just imagining her cheeks reddening or was she just that beautiful that the sun kissed her so perfectly?

'I haven't said this to you yet, but,' she began, 'you've become quite handsome.'

'You've become really pretty,' he said, swallowing the shy lump right to the back of his throat because it had no purpose being here while he was with Miwa. Just Miwa and him. No Lump.

'You always said that,' she smiled broadly at the memories, 'you always said I look like a princess.' She really did remind him of one especially because of her long black hair and her curly mascara back when they were both younger. Her hair was short now, but she still had the same curly eyelashes rimming graceful almond shaped eyes.

'You seem a lot happier now, Tooru. You used to scowl all the time,' she said, 'you're doing really well now.'

That fact hung in the air. He was on a team he truly loved while also having family in Japan to welcome him whenever he had spare time. He was still tight with his friends from highschool, while he could think of his teammates in Argentina as real friends too. He liked to think his body was at its physical peak as well.

'Was there something you needed to tell me when we were sitting back at the house?'

'Not particularly?' he said.

'You were staring.'

'I was thinking how you looked beautiful.'

The redness in her cheek was impossible to miss now. He took larger strides to catch that look.

'Are you seeing anyone?' he asked.

'Not currently.'

'What do you mean?'

'I'm not currently in a relationship.'

'Then, let's go out with each other.'

'Why?'

'You're blushing,' he stated.

In all his life he had never seen Miwa become flustered. He didn't want to upset her but he wanted to know what was wrong.

'Hypothetically speaking, would you come with me to Argentina?'

'Tooru, you're funny.'

He was confused, was that a yes or a no?

Their path descended into a park and Miwa led them to a walkway. Oikawa accidentally bumped into her arm in trying so hard to walk next to her.

'Stop doing that face,' Miwa raised an eyebrow at him.

'What face?'

'That pouty face. The one you always do when you want something.'

'Am I going to get it?'

They both realised how close each other's face was at the same time. Oikawa held Miwa's hand and he bent down to kiss her. For a moment her mind went blank but this request at least wasn't a hypothetical. She held his neck close and kissed him deeply on the lips. Their eyes peered into the other's, Miwa so sure about what she was doing and he was left breathless at the closeness of her entrancing eyes.

He dizzily let her guide his hands over her waist and under her legs. Her hand clutched his hair and they continued kissing, lips splaying against each other's, settling into a comfortable but intentional clarity, not wanting to move away because it kept each other's face warm. If she weighed more than a feather, he didn't notice. He put her down for now. Oikawa sat on the grass and Miwa settled in front of him, her knee pointed to his waist and she kneeled forward for a kiss. He bunched her soft hair to her right shoulder as her keen mouth moved to his neck. Her lips marked his burning neck, icy frost running down his spine making him shiver at the sensation. His effort at gathering her hair was wasted as he fell back on the grass and she hovered on top of him. Her hair spilled down freely due to gravity. Soft hands greeted his forehead, pushing back his hair from flapping down and her palm traces his shoulders and chest, ending in feather-light strokes with her finger tips. The heat began to blossom across his cheeks as his skin tightened. Her intense, unwavering concentration on him and only him was almost too much to bear.

Could he really have this now? It had only been a year that he knew of his attraction but she was all he could think about for an entire year. It didn't help that she was always there when he came to family gatherings, or that her name was in his contacts with a profile picture of her, a decision he regretted instantaneously but the picture was one he was too fond of to delete. He realised he was reliving one of the fantasies that were only in his head in the past. Her on top of him within arm's reach.

Notes:

I didn't know how to end it so hopefully this is enough?
