Work Text:
As the dusk sets on the Dubai skyline, a car stops in a parking lot in front of a famous VIP showroom. The chauffeur opens the door for Evelynn while Sera got out from the other side.
“Wow, is this where you usually buy cars, Eve ?”
“Of course not, Darling. All manufacturer invites me to see and buy before they even release the car.”
Eve enters the showroom, leaving Sera still looking at the facade of the building before joining her inside. They were approached by a salesman and two female attendees.
“Welcome back, Miss Evelynn. Is there something we could help you with ?”
The salesman shakes Evelynn’s hand in excitement and brings them some refreshment while the attendees put their coat on the hanger.
“I’m looking for a new car, Amar. Something for a friend. (Glances at Sera without her noticing)”
Amar the salesman goes behind the front desk to search for the car list (like a menu book) but is distracted by Seraphine for a moment. Unlike Evelynn, Sera’s clothes are minimalist with the only addition of a jade bracelet she got from Akali.
Evelynn is a regular visitor to the showroom whenever she is in Dubai, but usually alone. Having a companion with her made Amar think that Sera was a special case. A friend maybe or a pupil, but he never thought more of their relationship as it is a customer's privacy. One of the attendees eventually found the car list book and presented it to Evelynn.
“Well, we have a lot of new and rare inventory that just came in. Please, take a look around and don’t hesitate to ask.”
Amar and the attendees then left the pair to look around the showroom themselves.
Eve easily approaches one of the cars in the front row that has attracted her attention for a while. Sera, who had common knowledge about cars, could only watch how Eve checks for every single detail on the exterior of the car. She recognized the car in another form she had seen before.
“Umm.. Eve, isn’t this the car your race team drives ? You know the one we saw in France ?”
“(Looking through the windshield from inside) You meant Le Mans ? Yes, it’s still a 911, but this is a newer model.”
Sera entered the interior from the passenger side, watching Eve touching and feel every part of the interior. The material on the seat and dashboard doesn’t feel like leather as it is a tan-colored cloth. The shine on the aluminium trims made the interior feel more luxurious even though it has racing seats.
“I love 911s. They always have the potential to be as great as ever. Do you like it ?”
“Well, it seems nice.”
“Good. Now, do you want this car ?”
Sera was shocked by the question and gripped the edge of the car seat.
“You want to buy me this ? You already bought me one back home.”
A smirk appeared on Eve’s face. She got out of the car and moved on into the showroom. Sera follows behind, trying to keep up.
“That Tesla I bought you was just a means of transport. Its great but it lacks... personality. A vehicle must represent who you are and your passion on the road.”
Evelynn’s hands graced each car she passed but she held back, fearing scratching it.
“Ahri has her Maybach, Akali and Kai’sa have their own bikes, and me with my beautiful garage. We all have our own style. (Turns to face Sera) and now Darling, we‘re going to get you a car with your own style”
Evelynn handed the car list to Sera but her excitement soon turned to confused after she saw each car’s spec and price tag.
“(Looking up at Eve with puppy eyes) Eve, these are expensive. Are you sure you want to buy me one ?”
“(Headpats Sera) Sure. Since the car won’t arrive until a little bit later, consider this an early present from me. And if you want more than one, i’m okay with that.”
Sera spent the night looking at and trying to pick a car she was comfortable in while Evelynn awaited in the lounge, drinking almost all of the champagne available in the showroom.
While they both awaited their driver to arrive, Sera couldn’t help but to look back at the showroom with a big smile.
“I see that you’re pleased with your choices and I must say, they are great vehicles.”
“Yeah, thank you Eve. Sorry I can’t choose one, so you have to buy me all three.”
“I don’t mind it. As long as you keep it clean and you’re happy, I’m glad.”
