“what is wrong with him?” heeseung sighs, plopping down the couch whilst he watches jay occasionally roll his eyes at him.
jungwon snickers behind riki, the latter whispering a small ‘he’s so naive’ that only jungwon can hear.
“what’s the matter?” jake comes in with a glass of milk he’s sharing with sunghoon. “playful banter between you know who,” sunoo laughs.
“playful banter? jay has been rolling his eyes at me for about an hour now, hell did i do?” heeseung says exasperatedly, seemingly feeling uncomfortable at their tokopedia outfit due to the heat.
“is the bathroom occupied?” he asks, his members shrugging as they enjoy doing stuff in their own little bubble, so heeseung went to the bathroom instead.
he hears the shower running, concluding that jay might be the one taking a bath. “hey, jay, can you hurry up? i feel sticky,” he just wishes jay would say something nice in return despite of the glares he has been giving him.
“no, wait until i’m finished,” jay says with an annoyed tone evident in his voice. not wanting to aggravate him even more, heeseung sits down beside the door and leans his head on the wall for a while as he waits for jay to finish.
the door opens after some time—well, an hour—and it almost got heeseung humming his whole playlist. he stands up immediately, towering jay who, by the way, only has a towel wrapped around his waist.
heeseung eyed him up and down, “h-hey,” he greets, “you done?”
“if that isn’t obvious enough,” the rolling of jay’s eyes never went unnoticed by the elder. he was about to invite him in a small talk but jay walks past him, entering his shared room with jake to put some clothes on.
the elder figures he could just talk to him after he bathes and makes himself feel refreshed again, which consumed another 30 minutes of his time.
he put on his clothes as fast as he can, towel is still hanging on his shoulders and strands of his hair are still dripping on his neck, he dashes to jay’s room.
jay looks up, annoyed and confused, “can’t you knock?” he slightly yells.
“what is it?” heeseung asks him back, and the younger’s brows furrow even more so than before.
heeseung notices, “why are you mad? annoyed? i don’t know, jay, why have you been glaring at me since we got home from that silly interview?”
he hears jay click his tongue and mock heeseung’s way of saying ‘silly interview’.
he lays back on his bed again, returns in watching cooking videos on tiktok.
heeseung closes the door gently, throwing his towel somewhere inside the room and makes his way to sit beside jay’s bed, he snatches the other’s phone away from his grip.
jay did not even think twice nor did he even look at him before he hides himself under his blanket, “i’m calling it a day,” he says, voice a bit muffled.
heeseung breathes in sharply, calming himself. after all, jay is the only handful he’s willing to manage.
“jongseong,” he calls him softly, “did i do anything wrong?” he places his hand on top of the cover, said cover separates his hand from jay’s waist.
“did i do something? talk to me, at least?”
no response.
“i won’t leave your room unless you answer, by the way”
no response.
“if i did something wrong and i’m unaware of it, shouldn’t you tell me so i could… redeem myself?
none.
“fine then,” heeseung pressed his lips together, coming to a decision to lay beside jay and join him under the covers, his arm slithering around the younger’s waist to pull him closer.
“what are you doing?!” jay slaps heeseung’s arm, but did nothing more than that, “dealing with your stubbornness,” the latter answers.
“go back to your room,” jay shifts away from him, only for him to be pulled back by a strong arm, he groans internally as he remembers that the elder workouts a lot lately.
jay squints at the light when his cover was pulled away from his head, “i told you, i’m not leaving your room until i get an answer,” heeseung tells him.
“heeseung, go back to your room,” jay orders with a stern voice.
“heeseung, huh? no hyung? i see,” heeseung chuckles, doing his very best to make jay turn to him and finally look at him in his eyes—to which he successfully did.
“what is it?” he looks at jay who’s looking at anywhere inside the room but him.
“baby,” heeseung lifts jay’s chin to make him look up to his level. he smiles when he sees jay’s soft eyes, “tell me what i did so wrong to upset you like this?”
jay sighs, looking down on heeseung’s chest once again, refusing to meet his eyes. “the game you— you played with ni-ki,”
and heeseung got that immediately.
he remembers how riki asked him if he would give jay a sweet kiss on the cheek and how he went in denial about it at the interview that ended not too long ago.
“that was for a show, my love,” he explains, fingers traveling on jay’s cheeks to caress it softly, “i’m sorry” he kisses his forehead.
“if i agreed to ni-ki, they would’ve gotten an idea about whatever this is that we have, no?” jay looks up to what he said and nods understandingly.
“still, my actions were probably too defensive that it came out like an insult to you,”
“i’m sorry, jay,” he whispers, fingers tracing jay’s cheekbones down to his jawline.
“i’m sorry for acting like that too,” jay purses his lips, cringing at the thought of him unreasonably sulking.
heeseung shakes his head, “no, baby, you had every right to act like that, i was wrong”
“though i hope next time when we encounter inconveniences like this, we talk to each other properly, yes?”
he talks to him as softly as he can, knowing that jay could be a little sensitive sometimes. the younger nods, snuggling closer to heeseung.
“but i could kiss you right now, sweetly, on the lips too, kisses on the cheek are too dull,” heeseung teases him, earning a slap on the chest from his lover.
jay looks up to him, he stares at heeseung’s lips as it came closer and closer to his.
“jay hyung dinner is—“ riki stops as soon as he opens the door, he gawks at the scene unfolding in front of him.
after what felt like an eternity of silence and a hundred blank stares thrown at each other, riki shouts for the whole dorm to hear,
“heeseung hyung and jay hyung are kissing!”
and they knew, despite of an exhausting and packed schedule, they are bound to have another night full of scandalous questions and a loud sunghoon to deal with.
