What happened to Matsubara Kanon?
Matsubara Kanon was a mess. Cried at the drop of a hat and was flustered at the simplest decisions. Was ready to make a production about ridding herself of her drums. Matsubara Kanon was useless, despite how much she wanted to be otherwise. Matsubara Kanon was blue, she was drowning.
Kanon caught her reflection before the show. In another colourful Hello, Happy World! outfit. Still clumsy, still occasionally tearful, still easily overwhelmed at times.
Or was she? She had not knocked anything over in some time. The last time she had cried everyone else around her had cried (it was a movie). And upon the suggestions which used to cause her some no small amount of panic, she and Misaki’s eyes met as Misaki steered the ideas around to manageable and Kanon—
Could not wait.
Matsubara Kanon was a drummer. Sometimes she cried or was flustered, but she was nowhere as confused. Matsubara Kanon was helpful. Matsubara Kanon was blue, she was the sea.
A peaceful as a jellyfish.
Kanon straightened her hat, which she knew would stay on her head no matter how hard she played the drums, and went out to the stage.
