Loki stood with his back against the door of Mobius' office, staring blankly into space, clenching and unclenching his fists. He was breathing rapidly.
"Loki?"
At the sound of Mobius' soft voice, Loki turned his head toward him.
"Loki, what's wrong?" Mobius repeated as he stood up and approached him.
Sighing, Loki's gaze fell to the ground.
"I... was taking a nap between my two work assignments, and I had a nightmare I couldn't shake off. I know we're at work, but I didn't know where else to go."
"Hey," Mobius whispered as he grabbed Loki's hands and pressed a kiss into the palm of each. "You were right to come find me."
"But..." Loki attempted to protest though weakly.
"No buts, you will always be more important than my function here, than our work here." continued Mobius.
He let go of Loki's hands and went to lock the door of his office before returning to Loki and leading him to the couch. He helped him sit down and took place next to him, still holding his hand.
Loki whispered softly, "I'm sor-"
"No," Mobius interrupted him as he bent down to push back a strand of hair that fell over his face, "You don't have to be sorry Loki. I'm actually kind of glad you came to me. You know, you and I, for all time, always, it's not just when things are going well. It's also in those moments. Never feel sorry or ashamed that you need help. That you need my help."
He took Loki's face in his hands and looked him in the eye, "I love you whole, strengths and weaknesses and nothing can ever change that."
He pressed a lingering kiss to his forehead before holding him tightly in his arms.
There in the safety of Mobius' embrace, Loki recounted his nightmare and Mobius listened, offering support and comfort.
With a last sigh, Loki let go of the remaining vestiges of his nightmare and felt ready to face reality again.
As he gave Mobius one last kiss, out of sight, Mobius put his hand on his heart and said softly, "Don't forget. Together. For all time. Always."
When Loki left the TVA a few moments later for his next mission, he thought about those words.
Yes. They were strong. Together. For all time. Always.
