Chapter Text
In a foreign place, he stood out there alone. Thinking everything and nothing about how the hell he ended up here, when he was just about to heading back. And the wind is playing a game.. he partly really enjoy. Every spike and every hit just didn't seem right. He never thought this place is gonna easy, but neither being this hard. For someone like Hinata Shouyou, standing there on sand, hopeless and clueless, gives such a shivery vibe, a shiver that makes you hungry, and lets the greedy hunger grow even more.
He swept his thoughts away, cause the time of his part time has started. On a continue to his wander, with a placed out hazy mind. He faced a things here and there, the tiny hated stuff when gathered, make you feel out of luck. The wrong path, the wrong place and the wrong timing that hits. Every time he does it he feels so out of space. But the evening has already come, what a great time to go back to his ho- apartment, trynna erase this day to start a new one, with a hope for a better tomorrow.
He stopped at a vending machine at his way, looking for a refreshing something to drink, to better up this day. He gazed at his bag for a minute, but the wallet is in nowhere to be found. That dear precious wallet, is gone at some point of his way without his clue at all. The bag was opened wild, and every important thing just flew away like that. A memory about his sister, blurry a little in his mind. He swept that away again. The apartment was already right there, and he can't bear to get lost in this time alone, for the pretty dozenth time. Stair by stair the air gets heavier for him, the darkened place welcomes him the moment he opens the door. The slowly dripping of his water sink is heard to the door, no sound is made there, everything was quiet all around. He walks in, heads for his room, puts his things and then finds his way to the kitchen to cook his dinner. Also, with counting his mate too. He asked him for a join, but the other doesn't bother to answer, or was he putting an airpods?
It's okay, it's fine, we all have these kinds of days, and this is just the start.
He plates it out and finish it in such a briefly time. When you live your life with a moron, who considered every breath a race, that well be a habit you can't get rid off at all. He walks into his lights off room, opening his phone to see the time, but his eyes land on everything but the clock. He fall into that snuggly picture with a longing impulse look, that longed even more. Closed the phone, through it at his bed, then he crawled around himself near the corner, with such a teary eyes. He shed his tears for missing all the life he had, the people around and where he seems to understand. This crowded unrecognized noise doesn't seem right at all. A minute goes by two, the three hits him a bit, to wipe all away, again. He laughs out with anxious, consoling himself in a way.
He heads out again, to the nearest beach where it filled with beach-volleyball freaks, who enjoys playing it even at this late time of the day. He joins the excited ones around. And he doesn't seem to get the talk, but the player talks with acts. And the English Yachi taught, is still helping him out, even when he's this far, he thought of giving her a gift, as a thanks for all her efforts, and putting up with all the silliest fights back then. He drowned in his thoughts again, while moving on the sand. Thinking of all the possibilities and ways to get along with such a shapeshifting ground. He plays and run to receive a ball but it was faster than he thought, and with shouting "Nice kill!" for the spiker across the net, Yachi wasn't the only voice who brought Miyagi to his mind.
A stunned speaking voice from someone, got to his oblivious ear, saying a comprehensible something, lighting up his eyes! He turns around and find.. from all people he thought, it was The grand king he crowned. Standing there in a shock, repeating the same line "Is this real life?". Hinata screamed in a surprised, with the nickname of his -which he surely should keeps in mind- "THE GRAND KING?!?!" the other laughs in stun and noticed how a little he grew up.
They chit-chat some words, until they absorb to the thought of them meeting again, at the other unknown part of the world. He introduce him to his teammates apparently, as some middle school kiddo, but the other only seems to care about stating the fact that he stands right there. They greeted Hinata and head off to dinner before, leaving Oikawa going on with reminiscing some of their shared past. He asked Hinata what is he doing here, and after having some a clear thoughts, Hinata was interrupted by the growling his stomach made while asking Oikawa for a match on the sand.
Oikawa glanced a bit, letting out some unheard giggle and casually said "I was on my way to get something to eat, why don't you take me to some good place?" and with an excitement Hinata told him, about a really cheap delicious place, but then the other told him not to worry the price, cause it was on him anyway. Right that moment there, the sight of Oikawa becomes blurred to his eyes. The tears filling his eyelids and he tries to keep it down. But Oikawa had to ask what's that all about? just for the other's tears explode and he mumbled about his wallet getting lost. It was two seconds for Oikawa before bursting in laughter and take him to the nearest place the found.
Halfway enjoying their meals, talking about everything that comes to the mind. Hinata suddenly asked him about keeping up with the other 'precious' kohai games. With a frown he denied a single time he did, knowing exactly it's kinda the opposite of his says.
A talk led to another, bringing all the nostalgic past. The time went by and when they finished, Hinata invite him to game, with sparkles covering his eyes. But with all that confidence of The Grand King, it manages to fall apart the second he dive to receive a ball.
Feeling like a beginner he complained, saying this is clearly and totally an other different sport. The laughs brightens Hinata's face, refreshing the soul he kept on dragging this whole day.
And with the known sight of Oikawa nagging and accusing everything but himself, around his unfamiliar, abnormal and consumable area; it deeply made his heart reaches the peace it had again. Taking him far away from the gloom he surrounded himself with all day, and finally pulling him away from the almost black-hole he was about to stuck in.
He stood up from the ground and said "Today, for one second, just for one second. I was really depressed" he puts the brightest smile he ever had since landing here, and continue on telling him "After seeing you, I'm feeling way, way, WAYBETTER!" on the other hand Oikawa smiles in return and proceeds to make it another chance for them to meet again by a really good and deserved dinner.
That day, they continue to compete with strangers, having fun here and there.
That day, was the day Hinata felt like having a close someone around is home.
