Work Text:
Tokito Akari was always the first one to wake up. It didn’t matter what day it was, what was going on, or who went to bed first. Akari was alway the one that woke up first. She didn’t mind, of course. She enjoyed waking up and seeing her lover sleeping peacefully. It was one of the most amazing things she ever got to see, and it was a consistent one.
It had been years since she and Menou had met. Through everything that had happened, the two only grew stronger. Their bond grew closer. Eventually, Menou realized just how much she loved Akari. She didn’t want Akari to die. And while it was hard for a while, the couple had finally begun to live peacefully.
Akari got up, pulling herself out of bed. It was difficult to pull herself away from the adorable sight of her snoozing girlfriend, but she would be back momentarily. She stepped into the kitchen of her shared home and grabbed a kettle. She filled it with water before placing it on their stove, over a small flame. Morning tea with Menou was always one of her favorite parts of the day. Of course, she would quickly return to the bedroom to begin her favorite.
As Akari crawled onto the bed again, Menou stirred slightly. She wasn’t awake yet, but that was perfectly okay. With a smile, Akari placed her lips softly on Menou’s, a small kiss that had nothing but affection behind it. As she kissed Menou, the latter would wake up with a smile. She happily returned the kiss, pulling her lovely girlfriend into a hug.
“Good morning, Menou~!” Akari greeted warmly before kissing her once again. She giggled softly as she did, her fingers brushing through the blonde’s hair.
“Good morning, Akari,” Menou replied with a smile. She let go from the hug and sat up as she continued the gentle affection between their lips. She felt warm with Akari. Happy. It was a feeling she never wanted to lose. It was, pure and simple, love.
The two continued to kiss until they heard the whistling of the tea kettle, prompting both to get up, ready to start their day together.
