Petal-soft lips brushed over his cheek, the gentle slope of his nose, the soft shell of his ear.
A pleasant heat bloomed in his chest as she traced leisurely spirals across his skin, leaving a swath of tingling goosebumps in their wake.
She smiled at him when he caught her eye, a sweet, shy curve that made the rest of the world fade away into oblivion.
Her lips grazed his arrow tattoo at the point where it settled between his brows, then across his eyelids, then down, down, down, until her mouth met his in a kiss that was as thrilling as it was familiar.
Pulling her closer to him, he swept his fingers through her downy hair as her hand drifted upward to caress the side of his face.
A contented sigh filtered out past his lips as every bone in his body turned to jelly from her delicate touch.
As his surroundings melted into nothingness, he felt himself falling deeper into her orbit until she was the sole axis around which he revolved.
Breathing her in, he slowly opened his eyes to see her gazing back at him, and his heart skipped several beats.
A warm blush rose to his cheeks, and he leaned in to kiss her forehead, allowing his lips to linger for a few additional, precious moments.
He was doomed, he knew, but he was more than willing to accept his fate in exchange for the divine privilege of loving her and spending each day for the rest of his life by her side.
