Ghost

Summary:

Aurora may have awoken from her slumber, but she still has nightmares.

Notes:

I am currently archiving to AO3 a bunch of works I made back during one of my fannish periods that occurred from 2008-2011. I apologize for the spam.

This was written for a LiveJournal community called Disney Uberland. The challenge was to write drabbles for a Halloween-themed set of prompts (in this case, "Ghost/Spirit").

Work Text:

Aurora woke him in the middle of the night, asking if he could light the hearth. It was not the first time.

"You didn't see her?" she asked him, after he had the fire going, its light and warmth beginning to fill the room.

Phillip returned to his distraught wife where she sat in bed and wrapped his arms around her, assuring her. "She's dead and gone, Rose, dead and gone."

"I-I know," she mumbled softly. Then why did she still see that faint green light, that dark smile, glowing eerily out of the shadows of her room at night?
