It had been a few months since Misty ended up in Crystalga. At first, she was an outsider that wanted a grand prize: The Silverwing Quill. After tricking the wielder who was a little Zorua named Chris, she attempted a hasty retreat. Unfortunately, Velouria, the goddess guardian of the quill, put a stop to her escape and her life in the process. With some convincing by Chris, Misty was revived and given a chance to make amends by befriending the little Zorua and his big sibling Zoroark named Chrissy.
Now, Misty, Chris, and Chrissy were walking through the Faefall Forest together. They had gotten to know each other much better than before. As the trio conversed, Misty stumbled upon a golden coin on the ground that shined in whatever light the forest brought upon them.
“Neat,” Misty said as she held up the coin, “This would be worth a lot back home.”
Chris raised an eyebrow. “Home?”
Misty nodded and clarified. “My home before I stayed with the Jetters. Things were… different.”
“Was there more of your kind?” Chrissy asked Misty that question to which she got a glare from her in response. Chrissy said in her defense, “You’re the one that brought up the topic of home.”
“Well,” Misty explained, “They’re not all like me. I’m just seen as the space thief without a heart. But, better to be called that than a burglar.”
“You’re better than a burglar,” Chris spoke up, “You made the choice to change your ways and be with the Jetters, right?”
“Probably,” Misty thought out loud, “Or maybe it was to appease Mighty’s younger brother.” Before the sibling duo could find the humor in Misty’s thoughts, all of a sudden, Misty stopped them in their tracks. A fizzing sound echoed from a distance.
Misty’s eyes widened. She screamed, “Bomb!”
Chrissy immediately grabbed Chris and Misty and laid on top of them as quickly as she could. An explosion rocked the forest. The flames from the blast went up in a vertical line towards the sky, not setting any trees on fire, thankfully.
When Chrissy got up off of Chris and Misty, she was embarrassed to see her little brother’s face pressed up against Misty’s lips. Misty shoved Chris off of her, leaving his flushed face to process what just happened.
All of a sudden, White Bomber stepped out of the bushes. He was shorter than what Misty had described him as to Chris and Chrissy before. He wore his white helmet and blue suit, but attached to the suit was the acclaimed Jetters badge that Misty wore as well. He noticed the badge and Misty immediately. “Misty, I found you!”
Chrissy got in front of Misty as White Bomber got closer. She readied her claws for a fight. Misty quickly went around Chrissy, leaving the Zoroark puzzled for a split second. It wasn’t until she hugged the White Bomber that she understood what was going on.
“What are you doing here,” Misty asked the White Bomber, “How did you know where I was?”
The White Bomber explained, “Birdy told me to find you! Shout was able to get me the coordinates to your location. We were worried about you.” He finally noticed Chris and Chrissy. “Who are those two?”
Chris’ eyes sparkled with excitement. “You’re the White Bomber!” He dashed up to him, squealing like an average fanboy. “You’re one of the Jetters! I cannot believe I’ve met two members of the Jetters! It’s an honor to meet you, White Bomber! I’m Chris the Zorua, and over there is my big sister, Chrissy!”
Chrissy laughed off the improper introduction and said, “Sorry about gettin’ defensive on ya.”
“It’s okay,” White Bomber replied, “But how did you two find Misty before I did?”
“On the contrary, I found them first,” Misty admitted, “And they’ve kept me company since then. They’re actually kind of fun to be around.”
“Really? Well, thank you both so much!” White Bomber’s gratitude made Chris and Chrissy both give a thumbs-up with big toothy grins.
White Bomber turned to Misty and asked, “So, you ready to go home?” Misty’s smile weakened. She nodded and turned to Chris and Chrissy.
“Sorry to leave on such short notice,” she said with a sigh.
“No sweat,” Chrissy nonchalantly replied, “You’ve gotta get back to the Jetters anyway. They need you there.”
Misty was happy that Chrissy could understand, but when she looked down at Chris, she had to kneel to his level. “You know, for a little fox, you’re pretty good at what you do,” she told him, “And I’m not usually one to say this often, but, thanks for everything.”
Tears formed in Chris’ eyes as he struggled to make out words. “No problem,” he whimpered, “But, you’ll come back to visit, right?”
Misty turned to White Bomber for some form of an answer. All he did was nod, and that was good enough for her. “Of course,” she answered to Chris, “So keep your nose clean until then, alright?”
Chris nodded and felt a tear escape. Misty caught the tear with her gloved finger and allowed the little Zorua to jump into her arms for a big hug. She could feel tears of her own peek out of her eyeducts as she heard the little murmurs and sobs of her newfound friend.
For once, she knew that deep down, she was really going to miss him.
As Misty kicked back and relaxed at Jetters HQ with White Bomber doing practice bomb throws, she heard an ominous voice that sounded vaguely familiar to her...
“Thank you, my child…”
Misty chuckled to herself.
