Chapter Text

They won. Chuck wasn't God anymore.

Winchesters together with Jack and Aurora returned to the bunker and everything seemed to start being  normal again. There was only one thing that ruined joy of their latest victory. They lost their best friend and Aurora lost her brother. Castiel sacrificed his life so Dean could live. And the Empty took him.

When they arrived to the bunker after long and tough day, brothers went straight to the kitchen most likely to get a beer, and Aurora with Jack sat together at the table in library.

Aurora looked at Jack and immediately saw that kid was drowning in grief after loosing one of his fathers. She wasn't surprised by that given the fact that Cas was extremely important to all of them, he was part of their family and his death would surely take it's toll on all of them.

She looked at the library's entry and saw that brothers already returned with a few bottles of beer. They put it on the table and sat beside her.

Dean'd dived right into drinking his beer even before he sat on a chair, Sam followed him not long after, and Jack only stared at the wall not even acknowledgeing them, he seemed to be deep into his own world.

"You know... you've known my brother for over seven years now" Aurora finally broke silence "But I'm pretty sure he didn't tell you the whole truth..."

"What do you mean?" Asked surprised Sam.

"Well, you know that we've been human and God is our father,but... You don't know how our live'd looked like before we became angels" All three of them now was looking at her  waiting what she was going to say"

I don't think I have to tell you how our relationship with our father looked like... it's pretty obvious" she paused for a moment "He never truly cared about us, he left us when he found out... found out about Castiel's orientation" Dean at those words raised his eyes from beer bottle to girl's face, suprise and disbelief painted all around his face. Aurora looked him dead into eyes.

"He was gay" she said more to Dean then anyone else "And our father couldn't accept it. When we went to a school Cas was one of the popular kids, everybody loved him. I, on the other hand, wasn't really popular, I had a few friends but they only stick with me because of my brother. They always talked about Cas and how beautiful and sexy he was" she smiled a little.

"He finished high school and went to college but not long after he graduated he... he died" her eyes became a little glassy on a sad memory, but she didn't let herself cry" He was driving to the work and he was killed by some drunk driver. Just like that. Somebody called the ambulance. They tried to reanimate him but it didn't work." She looked at the boys and saw sadness and compassion.

"Our mother after some time got over it but I... I never really could... At first I'd been staying in home whole days doing nothing and drowning in grief but then I started partying, drinking tremendous amounts of alcohol, even doing drugs. It lasted something like a year and then... I was killed too..." she crossed her arms on her chest "On one of the parties my drunk friend told me that he loved me. I was heavily drunk so I laughed at him in front of all his friends. He didn't take it well. He followed me home, pushed me against a wall in some obscure alley and slipped my throat which hi knife. I didn't even realized when I was dead."

"That's how you became angels" Sam asked interrupting her monolog "right after the death?"

"Not really" she shaked her head "It wasn't that easy. After Cas died he didn't go straight to the paradise. He went to our father's office. He wanted Castiel to become one of his stupid, brainless angels so he can help him with his great plan, so he can help him with you Dean" she looked at mentioned boy.

"Cas didn't want to interfere in heaven's business so he said no, but dad couldn't just let him go" she clutched her hands on a bottle "He threatened to kill me if Cas didn't follow his orders... so he agreed, he agreed because he wanted at least me to have normal live to have family, kids and small house on the suburbs with white picked fence" she felt tears forming in her eyes "and that's why Castiel's become... well who he's become"

"So if Cas agreed... what happened to you then?" Asked Sam carefully.

"Well our father didn't keep his promise, I mean of course he didn't he's Chuck after all, therefore after some time he killed me so I also can become an angel. I declined. He tried to convince me but he didn't have any leverage on me as he had on Castiel. He got angry and send me to hell to serve Lucifer and all the hordes of his demons and the worst part of it was..." she paused for a bit as she felt tears running down her cheeks "The worst part was that Castiel stood there all the time with straight face and watched".

~~~"Cas you've gotta help me, please!" she yelled as heavy chains wrapped around her wrists and legs pulled her right into wide open gates of hell.
"I can't" he said with his stoick expression and deep, gravelly voice "You should have said yes when there was still time"
"No, Cas please stop."She struggled uselessly against her restraints as she now could fell on her own skin the burning of hellfire and hear barking hellhounds and maniacally laughing demons already waiting for her on the other side of the gate.
"Get over with it already" said Chuck in a bored tone not even looking at her.
"Cas I'm your sister. Please. You said you would protect me, you said you would never leave me"
The Gates shut behind her as she felt into endless pit of burning hellfire.~~~
"It was the last time I saw him... well at least to this action with leviathans"
The rest of them just sat there drinking their beers. No one dared to break new formed silence.
She looked at Sam and Dean, they refused to meet her eyes not knowing what they can say to what they just heard.
Jack on the other hand looked right at her with his big eyes concern and compassion painted all over his face.
"I'm so sorry it happened to you" he said like it all was his fault and he was obligated to apologize, but he also wanted Aurora to feel even tiny bit better, it was so adorable of him "It wasn't fair"
She didn't said anything just pulled Jack into embrace. Boy went along with it and immediately melted into hug he put his hands on her back and nuzzled his face into her shoulder, trying to comfort her.
And if Aurora was honest with herself she would admit that hugging this innocent little nephilim who wanted at the time nothing more then to consolate her, was exactly what she needed.
Rest of the afternoon went rather peacefully. They didn't spoke to each other almost at all after Aurora's story.
They all collectively decided that it would be best to give each other some space, so everybody can deal with loosing Castiel their own way.
Sam stayed in the bunker's library, brought his laptop, a couple of beer bottles and cup filled with coffe and tried to search another hunt online. Partly because that was one of the few things that was keeping his mind occupatied and let him not think about his dead friend and all the horrible stuff that happened.
And partially because he knew that sooner or later they will have to go to another hunt just because this was who they were. Killing monsters and bad guys was written so deep into their DNA and their minds that they couldn't spend long time without doing it. It was almost like their addiction.
And beside what's the better was of managing anger and going through your grief then ganking some vampires.
Jack on the other hand was laying in his bed, tears rolling out of his eyes and he was hugging to his chest a picture of all of the members of his family, including Castiel - his father.
Aurora couldn't hide his anger and frustration so immediately after she entered her room and closed the door, she went into full rage mood and started throwing things around the room. She broke a chair, lamp, even menaged to scratch a wall pretty heavily. And after that she just felt right into despair.
Even though Dean didn't wanted to show weakness in front of others, he was heavily affected by Cas' death. He made sure the doors were locked and started crying. At first it was just involuntarily tears coming out of his eyes but then he started truly sobbing full of frustration and anger.
Dean felt guilty for what happened to Cas. Because whilst he could still live like he lived before, Castiel had to spend eternity alone in the infinite, dark Empty. And because right before his death his best friend confessed his love to him and he was too stunned to say that he loved him back.
