Work Text:

"Im back!" Tsukasa cheered as he set down the wooden tray on the little table which was located in the middle of his bedroom floor. Carefully enough to not spill the tea, the blonde removed his hands from the tray to stem them both on each side of his hip. His eyes met the sight of a purple haired male who was leaning on the table sluggishly, his gaze trailed outside the with raindrops covered window to look at the gray clouds.

Due to the lack of the reaction of a certain friend who came over to discuss the latest ideas for their upcoming shows, Tsukasa spoke up again: "Rui, what's the matter? You've been like this for one hour."

The purple haired had his head placed on the same table next to the tray, he wasnt moving nor answering Tsukasa's questions. The stage director just laid there, motionlessly and without any idea for their show.

"My stage director's block is bugging me." The taller finally retorted after he made eye contact with his still standing friend, a certain despairing look hazing his diamond yellow eyes.

"What's that supposed to be?" Tsukasa asked, he couldn't help letting out a little giggle. Almost everything Rui said was funny, he just had to laugh, except when he was teasing the blonde. Nevermind, he really liked that as well once he thought about it thoroughly.

One half of Tsukasa really pitied the state of his friend, the other half found the pout on his lips and the furrowed brows rather cute.

Subsequently, after observing Rui's expression from afar, he decided that it would be best to sit down as well. This time he didn't plop down on the floor across the purple haired at the table, instead he sat directly next to him. Perhaps he just wanted to move a bit closer.

"You know, like a writer's block? You just can't write?" Rui sighed and explained, referring to Tsuakasa's question. Being dissapointed in himself, he couldn't possibly imagine that making a show would be so hard for him one day after performing many self-made shows.  He closed his eyes in annoyance after he had rolled them so many times. Why couldn't his stupid brain just work when it's ask to?

A tad irritated the taller grabbed the pen and scribbled something on the still empty piece of paper. That was what progress he had made that day – none. And that was actually the worst part. Another precious day was wasted. Another day he could've used to be productive, but his mind didn't let him.

It was torture for him. It wasn't like he didn't have some ideas, he rather felt lost with connecting those ideas. No manner how often he tried to create a reasonable plot for the show he felt like it made no sense in the end. Maybe he was pressuring himself too much?

Tsukasa, the star he is, obviously tried to help his friend and stage director with his own ideas. But that day just felt as if they weren't making any progress with writing their show, the result of not being able to agree to compromises. In addition Nene and Emu weren't there because they were busy, that left Rui and Tsukasa alone with their ideas.

Don't get them wrong, they loved the other's company. Nonetheless when you wanted to get serious and important work done and you just couldn't do that because of this specific state of feeling overwhelmed by ideas, it wasn't a lot of fun. After all Rui didn't want to dissapoint his group nor Tsukasa with whom he was writing the show right then.

"Come on Rui, let's take a break. We can get this done another day." The blonde proposed and spoke softly as he handed the taller a cup of tea from the tray he had just brought upstairs. The latter then gladly accepted Tsukasa's kind action, thanking him as he proceeded to take a sip of the green tea. Still, he was frowning, his mind couldn't let go of the thought of not getting anything done.

"Is there really any use for a stage director with no ideas?" Rui mumbled bitterly, followed by a chuckle and then he silenced himself by taking another long sip. Tsukasa knew that this wasn't one of his usual jokes, the content revealed a bit of what Rui was actually thinking and it wasn't as easy-going as always.

"You idiot. Don't pressure yourself like that. You're the greatest stage director in the world. We will write something amazing, I as the star couldn't do otherwise of course, but not today, okay?" The smaller reassured with a smile painted on his lips and a frown on his shining face. Rui liked that face a lot. But not with that troubling frown. He wanted to put a real smile on that pretty face. The director hated the fact that he worried Tsukasa so much.

"Come here." The blonde with the rosy hair tips smiled and closed his eyes, simultaneously opening his arms to offer a comforting hug as he turned his body to face Rui.

Hesitantly, the insecurity still affecting him because of not being able to do his job properly, Rui halted in this movement. Was it really okay to accept the star's kindness after he had done nothing productive?

"Come one, hug me. It's not that hard, is it?" The blonde spoke, his face slowly heating up because of staying in that awkward position with his arms open. Slowly he realised how stupid he must've looked holding his arms open like that. Of course if you asked a certain stage director he would disagree strongly, it was the cutest sight he had ever seen.

Rui's smile grew wider as he shuffled closer to his friend to finally accept the hug – it was beyond refreshing.

Wrapping his arms around the smaller's waist as he had to bend down a bit due to their height difference, Rui was able to sigh in relief for the first time that day.

Immediately the stage director felt better once he recognised the tiny hands wrap around his upper body. On top of that he buried his face in Tsukasa's shoulder, making sure to breathe in and out steadily and deeply to savour all of the star's addicting sweet scent. Was it Vanilla? Or maybe even fresh lemons? Or maybe both?

Rui just had to smile when he felt the small hands carefully caress his back, it really relaxed him and helped his mind to calm down.

There were thousands of ideas floating around the ingenious mind of the stage director which were bugging him since they were too many to consider for their next show, however soon they were replaced by one single and way more important thought:

Tsukasa.

And Tsukasa only. Because Tsukasa always gave you the best hugs. It was just as simple as that.

"Thank you." The taller whispered under his breath close to Tsukasa's ear, making him shiver a bit because of the sound of the younger's voice being so close to him, in particular to his sensitive ear.

"No problem. The duty of a star." The blonde spoke proudly as he moved one of his hands up from Rui's back over to his neck to bury it in the purple silky hair.

Rui always loved moments like these, Tsukasa touch felt really nice and gently against his skin, as if he was too shy or too embarrassed to touch you. It was adorable.

Soon Tsukasa began to not only caress his back but also his head with the hand he just had placed in Rui's hair, drawing small circles on the scalp and thus curling a few strands of purple hair between his fingers. Releasing the strands of hair, Tsukasa got amazed by the fact that the hair straightened again by itself and went back to its original position. He repeated that action for a few times.

"The duty of a star, huh?" The younger broke the silence and teased, Tsukasa could almost feel him smile against his shoulder, his head was still buried there as he enjoyed his headpats.

"Isn't that position a bit awkward?" The purple haired questioned but was met by silence of the other, making him realise he should reformulate his question, which he did: "I don't mean hugging, I mean sitting on the floor."

"Uh- yeah I guess." Tsuakasa said, not really being sure of what Rui was planning. The stage director seemed to have regained his usual teasing self back, one could tell by the tone in his voice, the star needed to proceed with caution.

Not a single second later Rui broke the hug to plop himself down on Tsukasa's comfy bed, leaving a befuddled blonde on the floor. The fact that the bed smelled more like him made it even better, the purple haired placed a pillow behind himself to lean against the wall.

"I wouldn't want my star to feel uncomfortable because of hugging on the uncomfortable floor, so I figured my star would prefer cuddling on his comfy bed?" The stage director spoke with this one certain tone – he was beginning to tease the smaller and it was working, Tsukasa's flushed face revealed everything.

"Well if you insist." The blonde mumbled quietly while looking at the ground shyly. Rui could be bold sometimes or maybe it was just him being affected by it more because of Rui being the person who was teasing him.

"Of course. The duty of a stage director." The younger smiled brightly as he used Tsukasa's phrasing from before, a certain mischievous grin had formed on his light red lips – how familiar this grin was.

Thereafter Rui opened his arms widely, grinning from one ear to another after seeing Tsukasa's adorable reaction. He was fiddling with his hands, avoiding his gaze shyly and walking closer to the bed with tiny steps.

The blonde really hadn't realised how hard it could be to accept one stupid small hug, or maybe it was Rui who just set an atmosphere like that, specifically when he was expecting him to crawl in his arms with this yearning but still smiling expression on his face.

Tsukasa sat down on his bed, the mattress sinking a bit once he did that. Lifting his feet up from the ground to also place them on the bed, the blonde shifted closer to Rui to sit next to him.

Not being able to wait any longer for the older to accept his long-awaited hug, Rui leaned a bit forward to wrap his arms tightly around the smaller's body, thus snatching the boy from his original spot and pulling him even closer to him, making him fall over a bit.

This resulted in Tsukasa almost lying on Rui completely, head on his chest and buried in his soft hoodie, hands clumsily placed on each of Rui's sides to prevent himself from falling on top of the purple haired entirely. Still, they were in an awkward position due to Tsukasa's legs being placed beside Rui's and upper body leaning hovering over the taller – still, it wasn't close enough for the purple haired.

With a swift move as he grabbed the older's thighs, he was extra careful to be gentle and to not hurt his precious boy, Rui pulled the by now very embarrassed blonde closer to sit on his lap, placing one leg on each side so he would straddle him.

"Why are you so embarrassed? It's not the first time for us to cuddle like this." Rui asked with raised brows as he looked at the boy on his lap who was hiding his face behind his opened hands.

"I know- it's just- uhm" Tsukasa stumbled as he managed to slowly lower his hand to peek at the younger.

"You don't like it?" The director asked while his smile slowly dropped, loosing his arms around the smaller's waist a tad. "No! It's not like that. It's eh- I like it. Just a bit- embarrassed?" Tsukasa was forced to admit and hid his face in the taller's chest, gently hitting his shoulders with his fist in embarrassment.

"Then I'm glad." Rui smiled, squeezing the tinier boy in his arms. If he could he would never let him go. "Don't hide your face, my beautiful star" The purple haired stated as he delicately placed one hand under the other's chin to lift Tsukasa's head with his index finger.

Almost immediately Rui let out a chuckle when he saw the red colour on the other's soft cheeks. Tsukasa's eyes were switching between looking into Rui's eyes and at the hand on his chin, a sign for his nervousness.

"You're so adorable." The purple haired cooed placing his hands on each side of Tsukasa's face, squishing his cheeks a bit. If he looked at him a bit longer he would have died because of his inexplicable cuteness, so Rui avoided the smaller's gaze to look outside the window briefly. If one looked close enough, one could see a faint red colour on the stage director's face.

Feeling shy once again because of the younger's embarrassing words, Tsukasa tried to lower his head, attempting to hide his face anew – a failed attempt to he exact.

This time Rui wouldn't let the blonde hide his pretty face and the red blush which was spread across his cheeks, so he mildly pinched Tsukasa's cheeks to prevent him from moving any other way.

"Rui!" The older scolded with furrowed brows, the way the director was teasing him with such ease was unbelievable, and the pleasure he received by doing so – unlimited.

"Truly inspirational." Rui commented while mumbling under his breath. Nodding to himself, as if he was confirming his statement, he moved the corners of Tsukasa's mouth upwards to form a smile.

Let's say Tsukasa wasn't particularly amused by this little action. He could imagine how stupid his face must have looked while being squished by Rui's rather big hands.

"I have an idea!" Jumping up a tad as he suddenly said that and thus moving Tsukasa upwards to sit straight on this lap, Rui looked over to the table to lock his eyes on the empty white paper.

Before Tsukasa could grasp the situation he felt how his body was easily lifted from the bed. Instantly he shot his arms up and wrapped them around the purple haired's neck, a reflex caused by the missing ground under his feet. One of Rui's arms was placed on the back of the blonde's knees, the other was slung around his back while the hand was grabbing Tsukasa's side.

Carrying the male, who was by now shrieking, in a bridestyle way to the table on the ground they sat at before, Rui subsequently placed the smaller down carefully in front of the table where the white and empty paper was placed on top.

Not a single second later Tsukasa could feel the taller settling down behind him, wrapping his arms around the blonde's waist and placing his head on his shoulder to be able to still see the paper.

Stiffening a little, the heat in his face now being caused by the closeness – Rui's front was pressed against his back, he could even hear his breath in his ear, Tsukasa drew in a sharp and dramatic breath as if he was about to pass out any second.

It wasn't like he didn't like it, actually quite he opposite, he was just too nervous and embarrassed to handle this situation. As the star he always knew what to do or say, being a great leader of their troupe of course, but now he had found himself at loss for words.

"Relax." Rui's voice sounded so calm, he wasn't aiming to tease him anymore, not with that kind tone. The purple haired then leaned a bit back to lift the hair on Tsuakasa's nape with one hand, placing a quick and sweet peck on the steaming peachy skin.

Honestly, one reason why the star felt like he was passing out was because of he heated body, Rui made him that flustered. Somehow Tsukasa could feel the air stifling, or maybe that was just his own hot and shaky breath.

Arms still wrapped around the smaller, Rui grabbed the black pen from the table to write something on the paper – an idea for a show – he finally managed to put it together. It was a little difficult to look over Tsukasa's shoulder while he was sitting in his lap, still he managed to take notes on the paper in this position.

Even though there were some parts of the show to think about thoroughly, he managed to write some phrases with only a few pauses which didn't last longer than two seconds. He was finally back in his element again.

Occasionally Rui would lower his head to ponder about the plot, in the process he also pressed his chin slightly into Tsukasa's shoulder, tingling him a bit. Or he would drop the pen hastily to massage the blonde's stomach briefly, every part of Tsukasa was just too adorable for his own good.

"You overcame your writer's block?" The star asked, a smile trying to creep on his face as he proudly watched how Rui's ideas were flowing onto the paper so effortlessly, the before empty sheet now being filled by some of the raven ink.

Tsukasa raised his hand to reach behind himself, placing it on Rui's head to stroke his hair. For some reason the purple really enjoyed that, one could tell by him leaning into the soft touch. Honesty sometimes that behavior reminded the star of a cat – a purple cat?

Being so immersed in his own thoughts, Tsukasa didn't even notice how Rui stopped his movement and how he opened his mouth to say something which would embarrass the star.

"Of course. My muse inspired me."

A moment of silence passed and so second in which Tsukasa's face grew red because he tried to comprehend what the little kiss on his cheek was for.

A tingling and bubbly feeling was spreading in Rui's body since he was able to hold him in his arms while doing what he loved the most.

His muse.

His passion.
