Summary
Dean and Castiel have been married for 25 years and have three children together. To people looking from the outside in, everything looks great. The couple seems perfectly happy. They have a new grandchild and their youngest son Jack just got accepted to Stanford. But trouble has been brewing in paradise for years.
Dean is a natural caregiver who has been shouldering the weight of his family for so long that he does not know how to let anyone care for him. He cares for his adoptive parents Ellen and Bobby Singer, he put his brother Sam through law school, he raised his three kids and helps with his grandson Oliver. Still, he misses his husband Castiel. It seems with all the family drama he keeps drifting further and further away.
Castiel is a workaholic. He has always been the primary breadwinner in the family. Sure, Dean has a job but its freelance work, so it is up to him to have the steady income. He is vying for a promotion at Knight Marketing. But his boss will not listen to any of his ideas which he knows could benefit the client.
