Chapter Text
“Come on slowpoke, does it really take that much effort to climb up a few stairs?”
“Jisung you asshole! you can fly , have you ever even climbed stairs?!” Hyunjin seethes and Jisung has the audacity to look like he’s actually thinking about it.
“Meh it’s not worth my time, you should ask me when was the last time I walked,” Jisung laughs and immediately zooms off, leaving Hyunjin behind panting, one hand on his knees and the other clutching onto the cup of instant noodles, “Fucker,” He mutters, trying to regain his breath.
Listen, sure Hyunjin has higher stamina than the average human but, in his defense, the entire class had been put through gruesome physical training since 2 in the morning and yes, he had not only seen Jisung walk but also had seen him run (an extra 30 laps compared to the rest of the group because the coach caught him running on air the first time).
13 hours of training, this is exactly why he hates fridays. The academy really thought it’d be oh so nice to gruel their students on fridays with the excuse of ‘Weekends are so close! Work now and you can rest for two whole days!’
Reality check.
They still have work on weekends.
Of course there is comparatively less work on weekends but the coaches never get tired of saying ‘Criminals don't stop working on weekends do they?’ And statistically criminals do work less on weekends but heroes can't stop working less because then criminals will take the opportunity and start working more.
They really can't seem to catch a break.
He is just about to take another step when Jisung's head pokes out from the gap between the two stairways.
"Today was hard wasn't it," Jisung muses looking at the way Hyunjin's thighs tremble slightly.
Hyunjin sighs, "Fuck this school, how can they make heroes if they can’t even make their elevators work,"
"Well Humans and elevators are vastly different, but it is true that elevators don't have tails,"
‘What?” Hyunjin snorts, confused. Jisung nods at him, as if he just said something really profound.
Jisung was always spouting nonsense like this, Hyunjin is used to it, he likes it.
"You just keep talking and talking and talking don't you? Are you sure that's not your power?"
"I’ll have you know this beautiful mouth of mine keeps both you and Mrs. Diaz up at night,"
"What the fuck? Who is Mrs. Diaz?" And fuck Hyunjin for not getting that as soon as the words left Jisung’s mouth.
‘Diaz nuts,’ Jisung cackles and Hyunjin groans into his hands. It's obviously not the peak of comedy but there's something about Jisung that makes Hyunjin laugh at everything that comes out of his mouth. He is only groaning to avoid giving Jisung the satisfaction, cause Hyunjin's nice like that.
"You are so childish Jisungie," Hyunjin winces slightly as he tries to take one more step, "Literally the bane of my existence,"
Jisung smiles at him, but the moment wears off faster than he wants, the pain spreading through his entire body.
Climbing is painful, sure, but Hyunjin has felt worse pain before so he just doesn't understand why he hurts so much today? Maybe all the mental training today took a toll on his body. The machines that the school use to train them are really the stuff of nightmares. Hyunjin's head throbs simply at the thought of them, god this is so annoying.
One look at Jisung and it's evident that he looks less affected by today's training than Hyunjin, he expects nothing less from their academy's number one trainee. Well whatever, Hyunjin's going to get number one next week when they do power training. The number one spot is volatile, it constantly changes between Hyunjin and Jisung because they're both good at different things. That's why they got along so well, always learning from each other, always stuck in each other's orbits.
"-hyunjin," Jisung raises his voice a bit and it breaks him out of his thoughts and back to reality.
"What?"
"Want me to carry you?" Jisung offers again, his head tilted to one side, worry evident in his eyes.
‘You would?’ Hyunjin’s eyes light up as he looks at Jisung.
‘Do you even need to ask that?’ Jisung comes down a few stairs, takes the cup noodles out of his hand and drops it, merely a second later it floats back up in Jisung's orbit along with Jisung's cup.
He then takes a hold of the back of Hyunjin’s knees, the back of his neck and hoists him up, Hyunjin shrieks and instinctively loops his arms around Jisung’s neck.
“Not like this!”
“Then how??”
‘I don't know on your back maybe?”
“Baby my back is so numb from training I'm not sure I have one anymore,"
Hyunjin relents and relaxes in Jisung's hold. Well if Jisung is going to hold him like this he might as well take advantage of it. He smirks and pulls Jisung closer to him, startled, Jisung nearly drops him. Hyunjin laughs, eyes crinkling at the wide eyed look on Jisung's face before he leans in a bit to drop a single peck on Jisung's lips.
Jisung's heart beats loudly in his chest and he looks at Hyunjin with the fondest smile.
"Once we reach the terrace I'm literally going to attack you with my love,"
"Bring it on," Hyunjin smiles, his heart feels full and he cannot help but break into a smile and bring Jisung infinitely closer to him.
"Don't let go okay?" Jisung says.
"Never,"
