Chapter Text
‘¥15000 will be deducted from your credit card. Thank you for your purchase!’
ding!
miko lets out a sigh as she pictures her dear, hard-earned money, flying into the sky…
and into the hands of her oshi(s).
the office worker’s eyelids fly open in a flash, as she gazes determinedly at the limited-time gacha banner.
“i can feel it! this is it! this is definitely it!” miko declares to absolutely no one for the 10th time today.
she raises a trembling hand to press on the ‘1x Gacha’ button, but of course, life loves to mess with the unfortunate.
her stupid finger had slipped and tapped on the ‘10x Gacha’ option instead. nervousness immediately morphed into shock, then absolute pain.
“ah shit, i’m going to miss haato-chan’s banner… khhh…” she buries her face into her hands in despair, silently paying respects to her wallet and her other oshi’s banner.
miko opens her eyes and taps on the screen, praying to the gacha gods to (at least) bless her with an SR character card.
six cards in and it’s only been As and Bs, and miko’s getting nervous.
the pinkette starts to tap on the screen at a much slower pace now, her heart threatening to beat out of her chest. gods, she hasn’t been this nervous since her first job interview.
[7th pull, S-Class Card, “Where’s Gura?” — Amelia Watson.] miko lets out a relieved sigh. miko already has it in her inventory — but hey, better than nothing, huh?
[8th pull, B-Class Card, “The Sky’s the Limit!” — Tokino Sora.] nope.
[9th pull, A-Class Card, “Queen of Hearts” — Akai Haato.] miko sighs. “another duplicate? this isn’t looking good..”
miko takes a deep breath, staring intensely at the screen.
“i won’t be able to eat taiyaki after work for at least a month because of this. i swear if i don’t get suichan, i’m going to delete my account.” miko swears to herself, and hopes she doesn’t regret it.
she doesn’t.
one tap at the screen, and a bright, rainbow light shines into miko’s eyes.
holyshitholyshithOLYSHI—
“The stars are pretty beautiful tonight, huh?”
OHGODSHE’S—
[10th pull, ☆SSR-Class Card, “Andromeda’s Brightest Star” — Hoshimachi Suisei.]
“SHE’S HEEEEEERREEEEEEEEEE—!!” miko screeches, and she’s sure she woke her poor neighbours up.
the pinkette’s crying and hugging her device, letting out overjoyed sobs as she babbles incoherently.
“oh! i almost forgot..” miko’s ahoge springs up as she rushes to check her inventory for the card. it just felt so.. unreal.
after years of shitty gacha luck, she had finally hit the jackpot.
but when she clicked on the ‘Inventory’ icon..
it wasn’t there.
no matter how many times miko scrolled and reloaded, she couldn’t spot the card.
“…what?”
miko’s face paled, her ahoge sagging down. wordlessly, in a mindless and tired haze, she stumbled off the couch and headed to her bed.
“it’s okay, it’ll appear tomorrow. it’s okay, it’ll appear tomorrow. everything’s fine, i didn’t spend 65000 yen for nothing. everything is okay. i won’t be able to have taiyaki, but it’s okay. i have suichan. yes, i have suichan.” miko repeats to herself again and again, eyes bloodshot and tired.
the pinkette collapses face flat into her bed, and immediately blacks out.
-
[timeskip bc yeeeeaaah]
“….up!” eh?
“mmh… another five minutes, mom..”
“…ive minutes?! wake up!” a hand tugs at miko’s left cheek, causing the pinkette to let out a tired and pained groan.
wait. miko doesn’t live with her mother anymore.
the pinkette’s eyelids immediately fly open at the realisation, and to her surprise,
blue, star-filled eyes were staring straight into her emerald ones, merely an inch away from her face.
miko blinks once — no, twice at the sight.
those eyes.. so near, yet so far. a sense of familiarity struck miko at the sight. wait… could it be..
the owner of those eyes gave miko a charming smile, noticing that she had successfully woke the pinkette up.
“おはまち〜♪ it’s your shooting star, your diamond in the rough, idol hoshimachi suisei! had a good night’s sleep?” suisei chuckles.
miko blinks.
wait, this can’t be real, right?
miko raises a hand and pinches suisei’s cheek. then, she proceeds to slap her own face with the exact same hand.
“holy fucking shit. this is real. you’re REAL.” miko exclaims, both shocked and excited. suisei merely tilts her head at miko, confused.
“well, yeah — i’m real and all, but how did i even end up here? did you do some weird summoning ritual or something? …or are you some weird gachikoi fan?” suisei raises an eyebrow at miko, expecting answers.
shit. what was she supposed to tell her FICTIONAL idol, that she was now in the REAL world without making it sound like total bullshit?
“oh also, what’s your name? considering the fact that i’m inside your house and all.” suisei asks.
my oshi wants to know my name. holy shit.
“uh, it’s sakura miko. i’m not sure why you’re in my house and all, i just rolled a gacha and got your ca—” miko immediately clamps an arm over her mouth.
suisei looks confused. “gacha?”
“uh…. aha..” miko laughs nervously.
suisei seems to be in confusion for a while, but then the gears in her brain click, and suddenly everything makes sense.
“.. holy fuck, was i isekaied here?” suisei’s eyes are wide in shock and confusion.
miko keeps quiet, still trying to process the situation.
her idol’s in her house. her fictional idol’s in her house, and talking to her. her fictional idol’s in her house, leaning on one of the walls and breathing the same air as her. her fictional idol’s in her house, leaning on one of the walls, breathing the same air as he— oh shit she’s late for work.
“shit. i’m late for work.” miko blurts out, and before suisei could even react, miko was already grabbing clothes from her wardrobe with a toothbrush in her mouth and a comb stuck in one of the tangled strands in her hair.
suisei merely blinks at the sight of miko making a mess of herself. so much for good impressions, huh? “..you’re not going to explain how and why i’m here?” she asks.
miko, who had just gotten out of the washroom, shook her head vigorously as she struggled to put on her creased dress shirt. “no time to talk, ACTUALLY REALLY LATE FOR WORK.” she looks at suisei apologetically as she grabs her laptop and documents from her table.
“all i can say for now is that i have no idea why you’re here either, and that you’re my idol and i literallyloveyousomuchokayhavefunexploringbye!” miko blurts out in a hurry as the door shuts with a loud ‘bang!’.
suisei stares at the door in confusion.
“did she say…” suisei murmured, confused. she decides to shrug it off in the end.
“what am i even supposed to do now?” the idol roams around the humble apartment in search for something to entertain herself with and manages to find miko’s nintendo switch lying in some random corner.
that’s one weird place to put a nintendo switch. suisei thinks to herself.
“..miko. miko-chan? no, that sounds weird. mikochi? bingo.” suisei murmurs under her breath as she browses through the games in the switch and grins when she spots her beloved Tetris99.
“seems like the ‘real’ world isn’t any different from mine, huh?“ the idol thinks to herself.
she sighs and lets a soft, tired smile grace her lips.
“guess i’ll enjoy it while i can.”
