The familiar ring of your computer echoed through the room. You had received another request from one of your neighbors.
You jump up from your couch and rush to the monitor. You immediately recognize the profile picture and excitedly click on the request.
Viktor's request popped up. he needed five rad slimes and two pink slimes for his next experiment.
You grab your vac-pack and head out, a big grin on your face as you hunted down the requested slimes.
It only took you a couple of minutes to gather all the slimes. You had set up teleporters to the indigo quarry a while ago so gathering five rad slimes was a cakewalk.
You arrived back to your ranch, quickly waving to your pink honey slimes as you pass by them.
An idea suddenly popped into your mind as you stared at the monitor again. You had been very curious about Viktor ever since he first contacted you.
His experiments were interesting, but Viktor himself seemed even more interesting. You were desperate to get to know him better!
You quickly grabbed a piece of paper, scribbling down a quick note.
Hey neighbor,
This is (Y/N), obviously! I've been so curious about you and your experiments lately.
Can you tell me more? :)
- (Y/N)~!
With a nervous sigh, you stick the note to one of the pink slimes before shooting it through the port.
You groan, rubbing your temples as you turn to walk out the door. Your heart was beating out of your chest as your anxiety kicked in.
Before you could leave the room, however, that familiar ring tone once again echoes through the room. You turn back and see Viktor's profile once more.
He had requested one single pogo fruit and attached a message.
Dear (Y/N),
I have to admit, your note quite surprised me! If you're really that curious, perhaps you could help me with another project of mine.
I've had my drones install a portal to my workshop by your lab. Please pay me a visit when you can.

You couldn't believe what you were reading. He did what?!
You run to your lab and there was indeed a new portal already installed and beaming with the familiar glow.
You nervously pace around the lab. Do you go now? Do you go tomorrow? Why were you even this nervous?!
You quickly run back to your house, checking your hair in the mirror and quickly changing your shirt.
You grab a pogo fruit and head towards the portal.
You take a deep breath before walking into the portal with determination.
You blink a few times as you look around the workshop. When looking out one of the windows your confusion only grows.
There was kelp outside...
"We're under the slime sea." A voice says from further in the base. You turn your head and see Viktor. You recognized him immediately, his big green goggles looking as familiar as ever. "How did you manage to set up down here?" You ask as you carefully walk over to Viktor, placing the single pogo fruit on his desk.
"It took a bit of work but with the right tools anything is possible." Viktor smiles brightly as he walks over to you.
"You must be, (Y/N). I wasn't sure what to expect. You don't have a profile picture in the system yet." You nod, an awkward chuckle escaping you.
"Yeah, I really have to get on that. Don't want people thinking I'm actually a puddle slime." Viktor laughs at your comment. "That would be unfortunate. A puddle slime wouldn't be able to help me with my work!"
"What's this experiment you need me for?" Viktor suddenly perks up, a smirk forming on his face.
"Well, it's more of a personal little experiment. You see, I've always simulated my relationships with people. But recently another neighbor has surprised me. Beatrix was impossible to predict and it was quite... intriguing."
He walks over to his computer and you follow him. He pulled up a few files named Beatrix. "You see, this is the simulation but these are the actual results. Now, what I've wanted to do is not simulate my relationship with you."
You blink a few times, still a little confused. "So, what do I need to do exactly?"
Viktor smiles and turns back to you. "I was thinking you could assist me in some experiments! This time not just collecting some slimes for me."
"Alright, I'm in!" You smile brightly at him, obviously surprising him a little. His cheeks turn a soft pink. "You sure seem excited! Follow me." He walks over to a separate area of his workshop, a phase lemon tree growing in the center of the room.
"You're obviously quite taken with puddle slimes. I have some here for an experiment." You peer into the little pond, smiling at the little blue slimes.
They excitedly purr at you, moving closer to the edge.
"They seem taken with you too." Viktor silently notes with a grin. "Could you grab one of them for me?" You nod, reaching for your vac-pack. "Just carry one in your arms, please." He gives you a gentle smile and you lean down, dipping your arms into the water to gently pick a puddle slime up.
You giggle as it wiggles in your arms, the little slime tickling you. You follow Viktor to a testing station he set up, carefully setting down the puddle slime.
You sat down next to Viktor, watching as he got to work. He explained everything he did, making sure you understood every step.
Time seemed to fly and before you knew it you were basically asleep on the desk. Viktor slowly looked over at you, chuckling as he looked into your tired eyes. "We should continue this another time. I'm sure your slimes miss you as well."
You sit up stretching with a yawn. "So, I'm just going to be your little lab assistant from now on?" You playfully ask with a smirk.
"Only if you want to help out." He mutters, focusing on his work once more. You stand up, awkwardly looking at him.
"Uhm, see you soon then?" You say after a short silence. "Oh! Right. Sorry, I'm still getting better at goodbyes. I'll see you next time, (Y/N)." He shoots you a warm smile which you eagerly return. "Yes! See you~!"
"I look forward to our partnership." He says, more to himself as you're already halfway through the portal.
