Work Text:
The sun had come to rest; as the stars had taken its place. You stare at the water, seeing the bright moon sink in the water. Your eyes sparkle, watching the moonlight sea of the harbor. You lean against the railing, smiling. A gloved hand reaches for your shoulder, pulling you back against his form. You turn your head, putting your cold hands on his body, still facing the open sea.
"Hello, Morax." You whisper, making eye contact with the god, "You do know you don't have to pull me back to get my attention." You laugh, placing your hands on his shoulders. "I'm sorry," He spoke, his hands moving to your waist, "I didn't mean to scare you if I did."
You let out a breathless sigh, "No, you didn't, Morax. It takes more to scare me than you just grabbing me." You speak, connecting your hands around his neck, pulling yourself closer to his chest. "Did something come up?" You question, putting your head against his chest. The god chuckled, "What? Can I not see someone without needing their help?"
"Well, I just thought that's not your style." You sigh, trying to hold in your small laughter. "Is it wrong to say I thought the Geo Archon would need something from me?"
Morax snickered, "You wouldn't be wrong if you say I do want something, but I don't think I'll take it for now." He stared at you, pressing you closer to his chest. "Oh yes, likewise, The Geo Archon being patient, I'm so surprised." You teased, rolling your eyes.
"Just because I get what I want from the citizens of Liyue doesn't mean I'm impatient." He remarked. The god sounded offended at the choice of your words, yet he let it slip.
"Yeah? Really? You know, you've never been able to wait for your offering day. You always get your gifts; whenever you want." You smirk, drawing circles into his chest. "I'm starting to think your greedy. Always wanting something new." You speak, placing your chin on his chest and craning your neck to look at him.
"You are so lucky; I like you." He squints, golden eyes looking annoyed, even if he's not. You let out a breathless sigh, leaning the side of your head into his chest, "I know. I don't know what I would do without you." You speak, closing your eyes.
"Morax." You say, breaking from his hold to turn to the harbor. "Do you ever get lonely? Up here, you must not get many visitors?"
"You are enough to fill what I once called loneliness. You are my best love." He muttered, leaning into your ear. You lean into his touch, closing your eyes. "I don't understand you." you laugh, sighing into his arms. "But, I'm delighted you feel that way."
