Chapter Text
Neige shifted slightly in the rocking chair, his little five year old son had just collapsed from exhaustion after eating his hot dinner, it was just as cold outside as the hearts of many men and many infants, unfortunately. The snow was beautiful, very white and covered every surface it touched, the drafts were hellish, but the fireplace giving off heat, was good for both of them, he would love for his husband to be with them, but for work reasons, he had had to go on a trip to a distant city.
The dad rubbed his son's head and got up from the rocking chair being very careful not to wake him, took him to his room, went through the large glass window he had to go through the large hallway and saw himself illuminated by the moon, the stars that seemed to accompany it bathed the dark sky and watched that house with interest.
God took pity on the sweet scene and made the stars feel especially warm, how many days had it been since it was just them? They were very few compared to other trips of his father, two months without seeing his family would be very hard for Vil, before saying goodbye he kissed his husband on the lips and his son he hugged him as tight as if it was the last time they would see each other, he kissed his forehead and said, "See you soon, my sweet darling, stay strong in the face of everything, take care of your dad until you hear my voice again." And he left, modeling was a career that involved a lot of sacrifice, among these was this one, it was necessary to boost his personal projects, but mainly to be able to contribute to the house.
Neige laid his son well on his shoulder and opened the door to his room, it was bright, full of color, it was illuminated by the moon and the window looked cold because of the falling snow. Fortunately there was heating in the whole house, even so, his infant liked and took more advantage of using the blanket he always used, Vil had bought it for him two years ago, he used it so happily and in these days where one of his parents was missing, it was enough to warm himself with that warm blanket to remind him of Vil's love, who would soon be with them again. He wished soon the day when his blond father would come to him and with a smile tell him that he was not going to leave anymore, naively, and he did not fully understand why he was leaving, the only thing he could see was that his father was leaving and coming back.
He took a few steps and laid him down in bed tenderly, in a way that all children should be laid down, he moved away and looked at his expression full of peace, that was now, before he was slightly worried, not even the attentive explanations of his parents filled the emptiness he had for not being by Vil's side.
-See you tomorrow, little sweetie. -Neige said goodbye without first taking his son's favorite blanket and tucking him in completely with it and, as if looking for it, the little one snuggled a little, he smiled slightly feeling his whole body filled with the warmth that only that blanket could give him, he felt it like a hug from God, a place where no one could harm him, there was only protection and peace.
He kissed his forehead sweetly, wanting to tell him how much he loved him, but not only that, also how much his father loved him.
Neige left his room and went to his room where he had a small space, he had several things in it, there was his desk and the pile of books thick and full of thousands of years of history in the minds of many, all his effort and trajectory, all there, now Neige had the joy of having them with him and being able to transfer his knowledge to the younger ones, even those of his age.
He sat there looking for a specific book, it had more than a thousand pages, but Neige loved it, not only because it contained his favorite mathematical subject, but also because it had been one of Vil's gifts on his last birthday, he lovingly joked with his husband that he would only give him gifts on his birthday and not at Christmas, since they were in the same month, but Neige knew he was joking, because every Christmas Vil filled him with incomparable gifts, just as they did with their son.
Neige smiled remembering those ineffable moments next to his family and after seconds of searching, he found his book, he had to take it with both hands and strength as it was very heavy, he had it in a place very far from the edges and on a high table, as a precaution he did not let his son enter without authorization to his room and care, and they had him in a good way educated to respect the rules they had meticulously made for his welfare, but in case he entered alone for any reason, he placed the books in such a way that they were impossible for him to grab, he did not want him to get hurt in any way.
He set the book down in the middle of the table and after that, he picked up next to him the packet of ungraded exams, he would grade them if it wasn't for the fact that he had organized himself to start reading and preparing for his classes tomorrow.
-Well, I'll see.
He opened the book and looked up page 62 from his memory, the subject was a bit long and needed a lot of prior knowledge, but Neige was sure that his students would understand everything if they were attentive and if they did their part, anyway he always encouraged them by claiming that math was so easy that just by making them his friend, they would soon be experts in the subject.
There were very varied results, some were excellent, good and bad, of course, Neige tried to find out the error of each of his dear students, he recognized each one of them and paid attention to all of them, he was worried about the fact of his low grades, so he thought of many solutions while grading all of them.
He was watching the procedures of all his students until the phone rang, excited and giving like a jump from his seat he went to answer it, it was on a small table next to him, he grabbed it and pressed the right button to answer.
-Hello, to whom do I have the pleasure of talking? -He asked smiling affectionately, waiting for his husband's voice to answer him, to his good wish, it was so.
The warm voice reached his ears and warmed him like the most comforting of campfires.
-Honey. -Lovingly spoke Vil for the first time, out of the pile of voices in the background, most of them stressed and rushed, modeling was such an important thing in so many people's lives, they had to work so hard to get where they were, and Vil knew this first hand.
-Vii-kun! -He spontaneously burst out of his being, so cheerful that he could make anyone happy with his smile and sweet face, even with his voice so beloved by his husband, he managed to lighten his burden.
-How is everything going over there? It's a little late, sorry about the hour. -He commented, sighing slightly annoyed as he adjusted the arrangement of his hair and looked at himself in the mirror.
-He's sleeping, after doing the little homework he had, he had dinner and fell asleep.
Vil listened to him and looked a bit downcast at that, although he really expected it.
-Yes, I figured, I called out of his schedule. The parade was running a little late and I haven't even finished getting through, I had at least hoped to stop by and say hello but I was pretty sure he'd be sleeping.
-Tomorrow you can call him before he goes to school, you know he always wants to talk to you. -He sighed happily, bringing to mind so many pleas from his little one to be able to talk to his father, which were sadly denied because Neige reminded him that he couldn't talk during work hours.
-Yes, as much as I would love to talk to him all the time, the schedules they handle at the beginning of the parades are very strong, but I'm glad that in a few more days we will have a good break according to what I read in the contract. -He smiled and finished arranging his hair while the assistants around him finished arranging his clothes.
-He'll be happy just to hear from you! He's been so impatient... He misses you so much.
Vil laughed softly and nodded, wanting to kiss his husband, even if they hadn't asked about each other per se, it didn't matter, his words full of love were all they needed to make themselves known, still....
-He's still very sensitive, but it's okay, he's still very little. And you know very well that I'm happy to listen to you too, honey.
Neige blushed with those words, he looked so red that anyone would think that he would have received some kind of over the top compliment or some daring, but no, it was just his beloved showing him love as it was proper of him.
-Me too, Vii-kun. Your voice makes me happier than I am. -He confessed, feeling the warmth of his face increase.
-I must thank you too for brightening up part of my day then, it was all I needed. -He blushed too, then stepped for a few moments with his shoes to feel more comfortable, modeling with heels was not difficult at all but he had to be well accommodated so it wouldn't cause discomfort.
-That's the reason why I'm here, I hope everything will recover backstage, it all sounds very disastrous.
-It is, fortunately the staff is already finishing arranging the clothes I will model, I had to do the impossible to be able to call, but I don't regret anything.
Vil heard Neige's laugh on the other side of the phone.
-I thank you in advance for making you look more beautiful than you are, Vii-kun.
-And I would thank you if one day you decided to enter the modeling industry by my side.
-We already talked about that, my place is among the numbers. -He smiled looking at the exams a few meters away from him.
-I know, but it seems cruel to have all that beauty reserved just for me, don't let me be so selfish.
The black-haired man laughed in amusement and thought that surely Vil would be more than happy to listen to him, but he knew the answer and had already made it clear to him seconds ago again.
-You're not selfish, Vii-kun. There's no need for anyone to admire me, I'm happy like this.
Although he spoke naively: his students admired him as a teacher and many other people admired him precisely for being beautiful, although they didn't tell him that per se, rather, they told him with all their heart in the middle of the word but Neige couldn't feel with how much love they told him, some were simply as friendly phrases and others with amorous intentions, but Neige wasn't interested in any love proposal or romantic phrase, he was already happily married.
-I will not give up. -He finished with the subject and smiled for the last time to sigh.- Unfortunately I have to go. -He commented sadly, feeling those multiple hands moving away from him.
-Oh... -He said quickly.- Well, okay... -He complained regretfully, closing his eyes with a downcast expression.
-Don't be sad, after you finish grading and preparing your classes for tomorrow, you can go see me on TV. -He suggested with a sweet smile.
-Of course! I can't wait, you must look so beautiful!
-Thank you, I know. I know you kissed our little boy's forehead for me so I have nothing to worry about.
-Yes, like every night until you come back. -He said with a fatherly and tender tone that made Vil shudder inside.- I know you'll do wonderful as always.
-You know it better than anyone, see you tomorrow, honey, I love you very much. -He said goodbye with a smile.
-See you tomorrow, I love you too, Vii-kun. -He also said goodbye and listened to the sound that indicated that he had already hung up. He peeled the phone away from his ear and left it where he had picked it up, he returned to his post with a smile as smitten as ever.
His heart warmed at the thought of seeing his husband on those big long runways, showing everyone how wonderful he was at what he did, so much talent behind that, Neige loved him more than anyone, than all those people who were applauding and supporting him, taking pictures of him and watching to see if his talent was "enough" to hire him, Neige and his son loved every single facet of Vil, loved him at his highest in the world just as they loved him at his lowest and most detestable, his flaws he patiently endured and helped to improve them with the deepest affection, loved him from wearing the best designed suit to becoming the most beautiful to the most disastrous and disheveled possible, with his expensive perfume or sweat on his face after working out, things specifically made for his husband and son.
He cheerfully went back to the rest of the exams and hurried to be able to finish reviewing them but without neglecting his attention to these, he already wanted to see his husband so it was one more reason to finish.
His excitement remained almost perfect, for although he was excited to see Vil, he had to first come across several notes that needed urgent attention, he kept in his mind the names of those children who had submitted them and set out to correct and explain them one by one the next day.
When he finished grading the exams and carefully organizing his classes for tomorrow, it was already a little late, but, God knows everyone's heart's desires, so when he turned on the TV he found that the fashion show was just starting, with how much devotion he was waiting for Vil, it was such a special moment although so normal for him, it was obvious that Neige was already used to see his husband modeling, at home he practiced and even since they knew each other at school, but to see how happy it made him.... It was priceless, immeasurable.
He waited patiently to see his blond and when he saw him so glowing and alive, he couldn't help but be moved to the point of almost crying.
All eyes were on him, the strong and imposing look highlighted his clothes and the makeup on his eyelids, his demeanor and professional walk made him look beautiful as a whole.
Unfortunately his son was sleeping and the parades usually took until late at night to be broadcasted according to the schedule, so his son could not see him now, but for sure he would jump with excitement and change his mood instantly. Anyway for his little heart, he could watch the reruns and wait for parades at a time when it was accessible to him.
There he stayed, full of joy, purely for Vil.
When the parade was over, Neige tidied up the kitchen, washed the dishes left over from dinner and then got ready for bed, he wanted to call Vil to congratulate him and say goodnight, but he remembered that he was possibly still busy.
So he decided to go to sleep without hearing Vil's voice saying a loving "Goodnight" but he wasn't sad about it anymore, instead, he looked up to the starry sky and thanked God for that day, for his son and for his husband.
Neige slept with a smile, the bed beside him felt empty without Vil, but it was a sacrifice he was willing to make, at least he had the comfort of his husband's sincere happiness.
