Lena adjusts the settings of the new DEO computers. Whenever something goes awry it’s always her and Brainy to fix it. Lena drew the short straw while Brainy is on a date with Nia.
Alex taps the table. “You almost done?” Lena sighs. “It’s downloading some new software. Maybe hire some IT guys so then Brainy and I don’t have to drop everything to come here.” Alex nods. “Of course. I will, just, it’s tough getting the DEO started again. We had to bring in a new face.” Lena crosses her arms.
“I thought Kara was the face of the DEO?” Alex rubs her neck. “Well, she is, just for our alien recruits. We need more human recruits. Kara’s out doing a photoshoot with the new face.” “Really? I haven’t heard about this from Kara.” Alex smiles. “It’s at the old base.” “Old base?” Alex snaps. “That’s right!” Alex groans and sits.
Alex points at Lena. “You came here after the cave base.” “The DEO has a cave base?!” Alex nods. “Oh yeah, it’s in the desert. It was cold and damp the last I seen. It is where the DEO was started. We use it as a little prison to hold aliens who are awaiting trial on Earth or somewhere else in the galaxy.” Lena nods.
“You never got bit by a bat? The entire time you worked there?” The two women whip their heads around to see Kara and another woman. The other woman is objectively pretty. She has pretty hair and she is wearing a DEO uniform.
The woman laughs. “Nope, I guess your blood is just sweet.” Kara pouts. “I’m invincible I shouldn’t have been bitten by a bat! Maybe it was radioactive?” The woman laughs again.
The two just pass Lena and Alex. Lena points. “Who i—.” “Lucy Lane, she’s the department head of that cave base I told you about.” Lena hums.
Kara flies to them. “Hey, Lucy and I are eating lunch in the training room. Then we’re gonna train. I’ll be back.” Kara flies off. Lena crosses her arms and clenches her jaw.
Alex chuckles. “Ooh, you are jealous.” Lena looks away, blushing. “I am not! I am a Luthor, and Luthors do not get jealous.” Alex laughs and shakes her head. “Sure, I believe you. I mean Kara’s kind of single and Lucy was like her first woman crus-.” Lena covers Alex’s mouth. “Shut up.” Alex licks Lena’s hand.
Lena grabs her hand. “Bitch.” Alex chuckles. “Don’t cover my mouth.” “So, that just confirmed my suspicions. You like my sister.” Lena glances at the entrance then back to Alex. “I do, yes, how did you find out?” “Just the little things. Like the two of you sharing Kara’s loft with one bed, the whole ‘darling’ thing, oh and you bought CatCo for her.” Lena points. “Different universe doesn’t count.” “Supergirl Park.” Lena blushes. Maybe she did buy a park and name it in honor of Kara.
Alex points. “Exactly. Call me when you ask her out.” Alex leaves.
Kara flies into the DEO. She smiles and waves at Lena.
Lena is in love with Kara, has been for years. Which made Kara being stuck in the Phantom Zone even worse than it was. Lena was so desperate to bring Kara back, not only because she loved the Kryptonian, but because Kara was what gave Lena strength.
Kara was one of the first people who showed Lena how to be loved. Lena broke down all her walls for Kara. Kara was the first person since Lex that Lena had been vulnerable with. Kara is everything to Lena. And she’ll be damned if Lucy Lane ruins her chance.
Lena goes towards the training room. Alex has her ear against the door. “What are you doing?!” Lena hisses. “Listening. And the best part is that since they’re gonna train, Kara has the red sunlights on. She can’t hear.” “That is a serious breach of privacy!” Alex shrugs. “Woah, come here.” Lena rolls her eyes and approaches the door.
“Wait, you’re seeing someone too?” Kara hums in delight. “Yeah, my girlfriend’s pretty aw-.” Lena pulls away from the door at Kara’s voice.
Lena points at Alex. “Did you know she was seeing someone?!” Alex shakes her head. She gestures at Lena. “You’re the one sleeping with her!” Lena grunts. “I’m gonna get to the bottom of this.” Alex nods. “I’m coming too. She’s dating someone and sleeping with you, in the literal sense.” Lena nods and they leave together.

Kara punches Lucy. “So, have you guys kissed?” Kara ducks and shakes her head. “Nah, we’ve been on a few dates and she’s basically moved in. I guess we’re just waiting for the right moment.” Lucy kicks and Kara grabs her leg.
Kara tosses Lucy back and Lucy gets back on her feet. “Dude, you are strong without superstrength!” Kara grins. “Thank you. I workout with my girlfriend on the weekends.” Lucy points and she heads for their drinks. “She’s like your dream woman. How’d you even get her?” “I met her during a work interview, and we just hit it off. We ended up getting into like a big fight after being friends for so long, then I don’t know. I got stuck in the Phantom Zone and then came back. Then the reveal, and Alex and Kelly’s wedding. It was a lot but then I asked her out to dinners and stuff. It’s nice.” Lucy points. She swallows some water.
“You went to the Phantom Zone?” Kara nods. “Oh yeah, it was awful. I was there for a few weeks. I found my father, and that’s really all I’m willing to talk about it.” Lucy nods. “Do you have a therapist?” Kara nods, walking over to Lucy.
“Yeah, Kelly’s friend. They’re awesome, and an alien. And I’m out now, so it’s a good arrangement.” Lucy nods. “Ah, man, what I would give to serve NDAs again.” Kara nudges Lucy. “Hey, I bet being the leader of the desert base isn’t all bad.” Lucy points. “One of my agents killed a bat, the amount of paperwork I had to do was insane.” Kara shivers. “Ugh, I hate bats.” Lucy raises an eyebrow.
“Aren’t you best friends with Batwoman?” Kara nods. “Yeah, ironic.” Lucy laughs. “Yeah. Wanna go another round?” She asks. “Absolutely.” The two set down their water bottles and they get back onto the training mats.

Lena huffs and sits down at a computer station. She sets her head down on the DEO’s desk.
“Well, we could talk to-.” Lena shoots up. “Who could we possibly talk to, Alex?! We talked to the superfriends, the paragons, and then the other superhero teams! No one knows who Kara is dating! I’m just going to ask Kara at this point!”
“Ask me what?”
As if on cue, Kara walks into the room with Lucy Lane in tow. Lucy whistles. “Damn, you’re dating Lena Luthor?” Lena’s jaw drops while Alex develops a confused expression.
“What?” Lena asks. Kara crosses her strong arms. “What?”
Alex clears her throat to break the awkwardness. “Lucy I uh, we should talk about your employment here at this base in my office.” Lucy nods. “Lead the way.” The two others scurry out.
Lena blinks. “What? You told Lucy we were dating?” Kara approaches Lena and she puts a gentle hand on Lena’s. “I did. I mean, I asked you out weeks ago, I didn’t know we were supposed to keep it a secret!” Lena sighs. Kara better be thankful that she is beautiful.
Lena inhales sharply. “Kara, I did not know that we were dating.” Kara’s jaw drops.
“Rao! Lena, shit! I knew I forgot something!” Kara slaps her forehead. “I forgot to ask if you wanted to be my girlfriend! Dammit!” Lena blinks. “What?”
Kara sighs. “That park date like two weeks ago, where we got the ice cream and then looked at the puppies in the shelter! I was going to ask you to be my girlfriend! And you keep calling me darling which to be honest I thought we were dating.” Kara sighs. “Rao, Lena I am so sorry.” Lena touches Kara’s arm.
“It’s okay darling. I’d love to be your girlfriend.” Kara smiles at her. “Thanks. Can I kiss you? You don’t have to, and it’s totally cool if you want to go slo-.” Lena pulls Kara’s face into a quick kiss. Kara freezes, but then melts into Lena’s kiss.
Lena pulls away for air. She smiles. “We are not going slow because we need to make up for those two weeks.” She pulls Kara back in for a kiss.

Alex and Lucy watch Kara and Lena from the balcony. “So, glad they finally figured it out,” Lucy says while looking down at the couple.
Alex nods. “God, that was a nightmare, watching Lena flip out. She even got jealous of you.” Lucy chuckles. “Wow, I have no words. And Kara’s right, Lena is hot,” Lucy points, “should they be making out in the middle of the DEO.” Alex chuckles as Kara gives a big middle finger up at them.
Lucy laughs. “I’m not gonna steal your girl, but seriously, get a room!” Lucy turns her head and leans against the railing. “Well, we’re gonna have fun getting this place up to good standards. Come on Danvers-Olsen, let’s go and brainstorm.” Alex laughs. “Right behind you.” They head to Alex’s office.
