Chapter Text
she hates walking.
both in the early mornings and the night.
yet she did it anyways— every saturday night, with him. of course, it’s because of him. he loves to walk through the night when the moon greets him brightly, surrounded by twinkling stars. and because he loves it, he wants to share it with her.
she complained to him, “why do we have to walk? it’s cold. i’d rather have a night drive instead.”
he only smiled and said, “walking gives us a moment to appreciate things we see and what we usually don’t.”
“what do you mean?”
“look at that,” he points at… a tree? “there’s a mark carved on the tree.”
they inched closer to the tree that he pointed, and surprisingly for her, there was a mark.
the mark seemed like it was carved by shaking hands as the curve of it is unsteady. but the mark is clear to comprehend.

“wow, you have great eyesight. i never noticed it even though i’ve probably passed this place a lot of time,” she remarked, awed by the mark— it feels somehow significant and familiar to her though she couldn’t point out why.
“of course, i have an eyesight of a tiger,” he stated, curling his fingers into his trademark pose.
soft peals of laughter exchanged, and when it died down, the silence was comfortable.
“hmm, but walking is tiring. i still hate it,” she commented with a pout.
he squished her cheeks, “but it’s healthy. oh, it’s two birds with one stone. you could use this time to spend more quality time with me and try to be healthy.”
“try to be healthy??? am i not???” she glares playfully at him, making him laugh.
just like that, another round of content waves of laughter could be heard in the park that night— but if you listen closely, there’s faint remorse in a particular man’s laugh.
