Chapter Text
Do you know what it’s like being in love? It’s the best feeling in the world! You feel warm and hopeful and joyous and beautiful! You can’t help but smile and that smile makes you happy. Love is a truely miraculous thing. Especially the love between Albedo and Sucrose.
Everyone knew they were an odd pair, but as time passed they proved that they were perfect for one another. Their unique personalities held a strong foundation upon their beautiful relationship. Their love for each other was inspiring, wonderful and hopeful. You couldn’t help but smile whenever you saw them holding hands
But not anymore.
Albedo’s feet touched the bridge of the City of Mondstadt for the first time in years. He was back. He was finally back! He’d been waiting for this moment for two years, six months and fifteen days. Nothing was going to get in his way this time.
But the day that was foretold would be sunny was instead, miserable. The thunderstorm was relentless, blue sky was hidden behind dark grey clouds, and the wind was harsh and slapped him in the face like a snowball from Dragonspine. It wasn’t the Mondstadt he knew. What was going on?
His white cloak was already soaked to the bone, as well as his long ponytail. His golden sandals squelched as he ran through the streets. Strangely enough, people all around him were staring as he sprinted up the staircase to the Knights of Favonius Headquarters.
He opened the unguarded doors and gasped to see the once vibrant, marble hall just a dimly lit area. It felt colder and plainer than ever. He slid his heavy swag from his shoulder down his arm and gently on the ground beside the door to the Grand Master’s office. He slowly opened it…
He expected to see Jean, sitting exhausted in her chair at her desk trying to answer complaints and issues by the people, but she wasn’t there. At the sound of the door opening and closing, a familiar face looked up at him. The book she held shut loudly and her naturally gleeful eyes narrowed downward at him.
“Lisa? What are you doing here? Where is Jean? And Sucrose? I need to see Sucrose.”
The atmosphere in the office grew dark. The candles blew out. Lisa uncrossed her legs and stood up from sitting on the desk, her eyes glowing purple as he slowly walked up to Albedo.
“You walked out with no explanation, and now you have returned two years later demanding one from me?”
Albedo gulped and stepped back. He hit the wall, sweating as Lisa held up her hand.
“You’re rather bold.” She glared. “And right now that’s nothing to be proud of.”
“Wait! Please! I can explain! I left suddenly because I couldn’t-“
“Enough.”
Her fingers bent and purple sparks of electro energy zapped around them quickly.
“Leave now.”
Albedo reached for the doorknob while trying to keep his eyes on her. Snatching it, it turned and he slid against the wall to escape.
“And Albedo?” She added.
He froze in place. He felt Lisa’s breath in his ear as she whispered menacingly,
“I have eyes everywhere, so don’t even think about visiting Sucrose. And that is not an invitation to test me.”
Lisa closed the door behind him. Scared and confused, and feeling as if he would throw up from the anxiety, he decided to head down to Angel’s Share for answers.
