Chapter 1: Asking for help

Chapter Text

Peter looked up at the tower in front of him, heart slightly pounding in his chest. The Stark Tower is even more impressive up close than what it is in pictures, and Peter can't really decide if he want's to freak out or just stare in awe. Taking in a shaky breath, Peter took a hesitant step forward. He knew he had to do this, to ask for help.

Peter walked towards the entrance of the tower, careful when opening the door in case that breaks too. The lobby was busy with people walking back and forth, making anxiety starting to bubble up in the pit of his stomach. Taking another breath, Peter turned towards the front desk where 3 people were sitting. Finally deciding to do what he came her to do, Peter timidly walked over to the middle-aged lady on the far left at the front desk, gaming the attention from the lady.

"Hello, welcome to Stark Tower! What can I help you with?" The lady asked in a kind tone and a warm smile, making Peter's never calm just a bit. Smiling back, Peter greeted back.

"H-hello! U-uhm, I was w-wondering if it would b-be possible to r-request a meeting w-with Mr. Stark?" Peter asked with a stutter, never getting to him. His hands were shaking slightly, not helping him at all. "I-I know he must be v-very busy! B-but is k-kinda important" Peter added quickly, not wanting to create any trouble. The lady gave him a weird look.

"Can I ask you your name, please?" She asked him, writhing something on her computer.

"P-Peter Parker, ma'am" The brown haired teen answered, shifting from one foot to another, looking around to try and distract himself just a bit.

"Ok, Mr. Parker. As you know, Mr. Stark is a very busy man and don't usually take requests like this, but I can call his office and ask him if he is available. Please, wait here and I will be back in a moment" With that, the lady stood up from her seat and walked through a door that was behind the counter.

Peter took this time to gather his thoughts, preparing himself if he got the chance to talk to Mr. Stark. He didn't really have anyone else to go to, so if this didn't work, Peter didn't know what he would do. Peter looked around nervously again, trying to keep his breathing normal, not wanting to ahave a panic attack in the middle of the lobby.

Peter looked back when the door opened, the same lady walking back into her seat. She smiled at him, making a small spark of hope light up in his chest.

"Mr. Stark is not currently occupied and gave you permission to meet him in his office. I will follow you to the elevator, and from there you will ask FRDAY, Mr. Stark AI to take you to his office. Is that ok?" The lady instructed, giving him what Peter beloved was a stringiest look.

"Y-yes ma'am!" Peterson answered, nodding his head viciously. He can believe it, he was going to get help! Finally.

Well, hopefully.

Peter followed the nice lady though a security check before he walked with her to the elevator.

"Good luck, Mr. Parker" The woman said before she left to get back to her job behind the front desk. The elevator door opened and Peter took a deep breath before stepping inside.

"Good Afternoon Mr. Parker. Would you like me to bring you to Boss's office?" A female voice asked from above Peter, making the brown haired teen jerk his head upwards. His heart almost jumped out of his chest, but Peter figured the voice must the the AI, FRIDAY. Breathing to calms his breathing heart, Peter answered.

"Y-yes, thank you!" Peter thanked the AI. The elevator started to move, and Peter was as ready as he will ever be to face his Idol, Tony Stark, aka Iron Man. Not even a minute later, the elevator stopped.

"Good luck Mr. Parker" FRIDAY said before opening the elevator doors.

There, sitting behind the desk in front of Peter, sat Tony Stark in all his glory. The man looked up from his computer at the sound of the elevator and smiled at the sight of Peter.

"You must be Peter. Please, sit down" Mr. Stark greeted, gesturing the the chair in front of him. Peter held his hands close to his chest, walking forward slowly. Mr. Stark, as if sensing Peter's growling anxiety, face a reassuring smile. "I won't bite, promise"

The man gave a smirk, giving him a playful wink. Peter sat down in the chair, fidgeting with his finger in his lap.

"I-It's a pleasure t-to meet you Mr. Stark, s-sir!" Peter said, releasing he hasn't greeted the man yet.

Tony smiled slightly at the kid in front of him.

"I heard that you needed to talk to me about something important?" Tony asked, tasing a brow at the browned haired teen. Thye teen nodded slightly, the enthusiastic energy from before draining slightly.

"Yes, sir. U-uhm, so, about a week and a half ago, I was on a field trip with my class to Oscorp" Peter started to explain, Tony listening to what the teen was saying. "At the tour, a spider that has e-escaped from one of the l-labs managed to bite me, a-and I know that, that doesn't sound so bad, but the next day I woke up feeling so bad! And I was throwing up and my I-intire body felt like it w-was burning. And my aunt and u-uncle were supposed to be home later that n-night, but they w-were in an accident, a-and didn't make it. After, like, 5 days of pain and being s-sick all alone, I woke up and my f-fever had broken.

"B-but the I suddenly s-started to feel different! I-I didn't need buy classes anymore, and my asthma w-was suddenly gone, and I have a six-pack! B-but that's not it! I'I keep breaking things I s-should not be able to break, and k-keep sticking to things without glare or anything and I don't know what's happening!" The teen finished, and at this point, Peter was hyperventilating. "A-and because I have n-no one else, you w-were the only person t-that might be able to help m-me"

Tony was shocked to say the least. Not only had Oscorp let a highly dangerous experiment get out, but didn't even shut down the building to make sure everyone was safe. And now, Peter Parker had to suffer the consequences.

"Ok, Peter, I'm going to need you to breath, ok kid?" Tony said, in a soft tone, trying to calm the kid down from his panic attack. "You need to breath, kid, or you'er going to make yourself sick"

"C-c-can't!" Peter sobbed, clawing at his throat as if that would help him get air into his lungs. Tony didn't know what came over him, but he stood up from his desk and brought the teen into his arms, brining the brown haired boy down to the floor and slightly swaying them back and forth.

"I know it's difficult, but you can do it kid. Try and copy my breathing" Tony said, slowly running his hand through the brown curly hair. Tony had no idea why, but something inside of him was screaming at him to protect this kid. He didn't know if this was because of what the young teen went through or if there was something else, but Tony knew that he would help Peter, no matter what.

Peter gripped the front of Tony's shirt like his life depended on it, sobbing until he didn't have any energy left. He was laying limp against Tony, hiccuping softly.

"I'm going to help you, kid. You're safe now" Tony muttered into the grown of Peter's hair.

That must be what Peter needed to hear, because only a few minutes later, he had a sleeping teenager in his lap. He sighed, still running a hand through the soft curls.

"Friday, message Pepper and tell her to cancel my meeting for the rest of the day"
