Chapter Text
A/N: It's been a minute since I read this but I thought this would be cute. I will be quickly going through the chapters and then to his life as a prince ONCE he finds out.
I probably won't have very good old-timey speak for the charters but I will try to put a difference between how Shasta talks versus those in the royal family and in Narnia.
Basically, this is if Shasta wasn’t Corin's twin but his younger brother.
Corin is still 13 but Cor/Shasta is seven.
Corin knows about Shasta and mourns his little brother.
King Lune mourns his younger son.
Please be Patient with the old-timey talk and the such, I will try my best on that.
_______Start_____________
Shasta was listening to Arsheeh negotiate someone as a slave.
He was playing with the donkey while listening but he couldn't find out who he was selling to the man. Then… He heard HIS name.
“Yes, The terrible boy may be young but fear not, he will be a good slave for you.”
“What boy could possibly be good at that age!” The wealthy man growled.
“Shasta will be good, I swear on my life” Arsheeh huffed.
Shasta froze, a slave! Why would he do that to me?
“Over here colt!” A voice sounded.
Shasta turned and saw a horse in all its glory.
“You must get out of here! Climb onto my back and we will ride faster than that old man can catch us!”
“I-I don’t know how to r-ride,” Shasta said, in shock that a horse could talk.
“Saddle me up, boy! We must leave and go to Narnia!”
“Narn-nia?” Shasta sounded out, confused.
“Narnia! Hurry up!” The horse huffed.
Shasta walked over to the saddle and went to pick it up.
“A Blanket first, Boy!” The horse said.
Shasta quickly grabbed a blanket and draped it over the Horse's back.
“That good?” Shasta asked.
“Saddle quickly!” The Horse seemed to be even more annoyed.
Shasta grabbed the saddle and almost fell over, “This is heavy!”
“We don’t have time child!”
Shasta rushed to put it on and the horse instructed him through the buckles and straps.
There was a saddlebag attached and Shasta looked inside it before starting to try and get on the stubborn talking horse.
It had more money than he had ever seen in his life! He stared at it and the small ration and food in the bag before the horse interrupted.
“Hurry it up, child! Do you want to be caught?”
Shasta shook his head and quickly scrambled up the horse.
“Hold on.” Was all the instruction given to Shasta as the horse ran faster than ever.
He galloped for a long time and told stories about Narnia as he went. Shasta made comments at the right moments, and a couple of the wrong ones, but who would judge him. He was just a child.
Chapter 2: Chapter 2
Summary:
Aravis comes along! I don’t know how to spell any of their names, please be nice
Chapter Text
A/N: I can’t remember how Shasta met Aravis and Hwin so I am making it up. Sorry.
“What is your name?” Shasta found himself asking, though names didn’t matter in the town where he was from.
The horse made a bunch of noises in return.
“Umm… What about Bree?” Shasta said, not understanding a single word.
“I guess that would be alright,” Bree said, not looking like he cared very much.
Soon later, they stopped at a river and Bree drank as a girl and her horse came into view.
The mare neighed at Bree, recognizing him as a Narnian horse.
“Hello, My rider and I are going to Narnia, is that where you are headed?”
“Yes,” Bree answered, “Why I recused this boy from being a slave so I could bring him back to Narnia! His skin color shows he is Narnian.”
Shasta blinked as that was A. The first time someone pointed out his skin color without a cutting remark to go with it and B. The first time he heard he might be Narnian.
The girl spoke with an air of confidence as she said, “Hwin and I must be going.”
“Hwin…” Bree muttered and then spoke quickly, “Why don’t we travel together! That way we can stay away from the old man and you may stay away from?”
The girl snapped, “An arranged marriage.”
“No need to snap…” Hwin said quietly.
The girl huffed,” Fine we may travel together, though that peasant boy must stay away from me.”
Shasta knew he was talking about him.
Oh well, he's heard worse.
“It’s getting light out, we should start going.” He spoke quickly.
They all started heading out, Bree and Hwin staying talking and the girl being silent.
Shasta wished Bree would tell stories again but didn’t want to seem rude as he was talking.
The girl sighed after multiple hours of silence and asked, “What is your name?”
Shasta blinked in surprise, “What?”
She sighed again and said, “What. Is. Your. Name.”
“O-oh,” He said, “Shasta. What is yours?”
“Aravis.”
She looked at the distance, “You almost became a slave?”
“Yes…” Shasta said, looking down.
He did not wish to think of it as he wasn’t over the hurt of being sold.
She sighed and said, “My father wanted me to be good for something so he arranged marriage to help the kingdom. I ran with Hwin after finding out she could talk and could take me somewhere safe.”
“That's terrible, um, how old are you?” Shasta looked at her, sure she couldn’t be an adult.
“13.” She answered sharply, “and you?”
Shasta stared and wished he didn’t ask.
She wouldn’t talk to him again if he told the truth… But he doesn’t look 13!
Hmm… “I'm 10,” He said, being smart and upping the age but not to an unbelievable one.
She startled, “10? He was going to sell you at 10!” She said, looking outraged.
Shasta looked surprised but kept up the fake age, “Yup…”
She blinked and said, “The word is yes.”
He stared and said, “That is not… Why would you correct me?”
“Because it is incorrect.”
“I-”
Shasta just closed his eyes and said, “Okay” and moved on.
Chapter 3: Chapter 3
Summary:
I forgot a lot more than I thought…
Chapter Text
A/N: I literally forgot everything except main parts of the story so bare with me. I am just making up the first encounter with Corin and the Kings and Queens of Narnia.
They arrived in a town and quickly put on disguises to make it seem as though they were slaves doing jobs.
Shasta had seen how things work so he pretends to move Bree to the side when Lords, Ladies, and other people of importance came through.
Though soon, Aravis and he decided to get off the horses and leave them “tied up” by a river so that they could go and get food as they had run out.
“Come on.” Aravis snapped, having gotten over the shock of him being 10.
Even though that was a lie.
Shasta got separated from Aravis as the crowds separated.
“Make way for the Kings and Queens of Narnia!” Make Way! Make Way!”
He recognized the Kings and Queens from the stories Bree told. He noticed though that one of the carriages was missing someone… Strange.
He was walking around trying to find Aravis but knew to just go back to the horses if he couldn’t.
A hand grabbed him as he walked by someone, “Corin!”
He turned and looked at the person and knew it was Kind Edmund.
“Um. You got the wrong person…” Shasta said quietly, he was nervous to be around a king.
“I don’t know what you did to make yourself look younger but come on! Your Father will hear about this!” The King ignored Shasta and dragged him to a home that looked more like a mansion.
Shasta was protesting the whole time but knew it was no hope when someone said that he might have gotten sick from being out in the sun for so long.
Queen Susan quickly put him on a couch-like bed and gave him water and food.
He sat there and overheard one of their conversions.
“The Prince wants you to be his wife, Susan” Peter stated.
“What?” Susan said in shock and slight disgust.
Edmund’s eye twitched as he said, “That will not happen.”
“Correct, we will leave tomorrow.”
Shasta wanted to go back to Bree. He even would rather Aravis. He knew once they found he was not Prince Corin then he would be killed.
They left the room to discuss it more and a boy that looked like Shasta but was a bit older came through the window.
“Who might you be?” The boy asked.
“Are you Prince Corin?” Shasta asked quickly getting up.
“Yes..” Corin said.
“I am so so so sorry!” Shasta said bowing quickly.
Corin was shocked and asked,” Why?”
Shasta was shaling slightly and said, “T-They thought I was you, I am so sorry! They wouldn’t let me go!”
Corin chuckled and said, “Well, climb out the window and get going. I will tell them once you are gone.”
Shasta rushed to the window and dropped out of it, though he landed on his ankle wrong and hurt it.
He ran to where the horses were and they were gone, did they leave without him?
Shasta looked around quickly and couldn’t find them. He sat down and tried not to cry.
He was okay.
He was Okay.
He Was Okay.
HE WAS OKAY.
Suddenly a purr sounded next to him, a large cat was next to him and put his head on Shasta’s lap.
He sniffed and petted the cat as he calmed himself down.
He could do this, he just needs to find Bree!
He got up and gave the cat one last pat and quickly ran off to find Bree and the others.
He found them in the forest, he rushed over and quickly got onto Bree as Bree shouted,
“I saw the old man! We have to go!”
The group of four ran again.

Chapter Text
A/N: forgot how this next part goes~
They made it to a desert and were galloping through it.
Bree stopped and said, “We need a new plan, I am too tired to continue like this.”
Hwin answered him, “ Maybe we take a break between galloping and walking. As we walk the riders can walk too?”
Aravis agreed and so did Shasta, he didn’t want Bree to get hurt.
They began galloping again and when it was time to walk, Shasta hopped down and found the sand burnt his feet.
He squeaked and Bree turned to him. “Are you quite alright?”
“I’m fine!” He said Bree had been working for hours! He could stand a little bit of sand.
They walked for an hour before getting back onto the saddle.
Aravis was staring at him and then shouted, “Shasta! Your feet!”
Shasta turned and looked at his feet, they were brunt red and did hurt badly.
“It's ok… Bree and Hwin needed the break!”
Bree turned and nipped at his knee. “Next time! Just tell me that you are getting burnt! I can handle walking with a tiny bit of weight on my back!” The horse said enraged that Shasta had hurt himself for his benefit.
“Okay,” Shasta said, he was ready to go on but Aravis got off Hwin and walked over. She took off her boots and then her socks. She put the boots back on and grabbed Shasta’s foot.
“Ow!” Shasta said.
“Hold on!” Aravis slipped on the sock and quickly did the same to the other foot.
“There! Now, it won't get infected…probably.”
Shasta thanked her and saw the kingdom they were going to in the distance.
“Look!” He said, pointing.
Aravis’s whole face lit up and the horses began to run. But… They saw an army walking behind him. Walking as a unit.
They went down a different path than them though, “We need to warn them!” Aravis said.
“Yeah!” Shasta agreed.
The horses ran harder than they had this entire time.
They made it to the gates and quickly got through. They dropped off the horses and barn master told Shasta to run to the king's castle to tell him before they got here.
Aravis was taking getting taken care of in the house as he ran as fast as he could.
His feet burned but he made it to the king's castle in time.
“King” huff “Lune!” He said, remembering the name from Bree’s stories.
“Yes, boy?” King Lune said, looking at the child that looks like the younger version of his own.
“There is an army coming!” he said, the moment he got his breath.
Lune stared and gave orders to generals immediately.
A servant took Shasta to the castle barn and gave him a horse, “Go. Warn the animals.”
Shasta, being a child who didn’t understand that this WAS NOT A GOOD IDEA, got on and rode out to the animals warning them of the danger coming.
He spoke to some of them and saw a Lion on a mountain, the air around him told him to go to the lion.
Being a child who doesn't know a good idea from a bad one, he goes to the lion who could kill him.
Aslan turned to the child and said, “ You should head back to the castle, child. Quickly before the battle begins.”
Shasta nodded, but when he made it down the mountain, he saw that the horse he was given ran away.
“Oh no,” Shasta said as he turned around and saw the battle begin as he searched for the horse.
He waited until the battle was won and was grabbed by Corin as he made it back to the castle.
He was going to go back to Bree and Aravis to figure out what to do next but WHO CARES WHAT SHASTA WANTS.
He dragged him to the King and said.

MY TURN~~~
Chapter Text
A/N: MY TURN SUCKERS! TIME TO GO INTO THE BOOK SECTION WHERE I MAKE ALL THE RULES!!
WOOOOOO
“Father! This was the boy that I told you about!” Corin said bouncing on his heels.
Lune looked at Shasta closer and said, “May… May I see your hand? The left one please.”
Shasta was confused but showed him the hand.
Lune’s eyes widened as he saw the birthmark.
“By Aslan's mane…”
Corin said, “What?” and sweatdropped as he saw the birthmark.
“Line up boys…Line up.” Lune said, looking like he was going to cry.
“WE HAVE FOUND MY LONG-LOST SON!”
The crowd of citizens cheered as they saw the birthmark.
Lune picked up Shasta and put him on his hip. Shasta squirmed and was super confused but Lune soon brought him to a room. Corin followed as he was super excited about finding his little brother.
Lune explained to Shasta how he was kidnapped as a child and that his real name was Cor, not Shasta.
Corin then hugged Cor as hard as possible the moment Cor knew he was part of their family.
“I missed you so much, little brother!” Corin said.
He soon released him but didn’t let him move from his side.
“Now.” Lune said, looking stern, “What happened to make you a part of that battle!”
“Um,” Cor said, He quickly explained what happened, and soon Lune was holding Cor tightly.
“You are only seven! You should not have been exposed to such things!” Lune said, looking sad that his son’s innocence has been tainted.
“What.”
They all turned and saw Aravis at the doorway.
“You are… seven? I thought you were ten!”
Lune looked at Cor and Cor winced.
“I thought you were going to stop talking to me if I told you…”
Aravis sighed, knowing that she would have.
She then looked at Cor and said, “Don’t you need to get your feet treated?”
Cor glared and Lune quickly scooped him up.
“Are you injured? Let's go to the infirmary right now!” Corin said looking at Cor for injuries.
As it seems Cor wasn‘t going to answer, Aravis did.
“He burnt his feet walking on hot sand.”
Lune stared, “but you came on horses.”
“They needed a break so we walked. He didn’t mention that he was getting burnt though.”
Lune stared at Cor and put him on his hip once more. “Let's get to the infirmary.”
What was it with picking him up!
He got his feet treated and wrapped and then Aravis brought up another good point.
But Cor really wanted to smack her for it.
“Shouldn’t he be in bed? He has been running around all day and was in a battle!”
Cor glared at her but soon changed to Corin as he suggested.
“He probably needs a bath.”
Lune nodded and brought him to a bathroom to give him a bath.
A BATH! Come on people…
After the bath, they brought him to a bed and put him to sleep.
Lune tucked him in and hugged him tightly, “I love you my dear son.”
Cor responded back in kind and Lune soon left, Corin came in soon though and hugged him as well.
“I love you little brother.”
Cor also responded back in the normal way. That was the end of the visitors that night…
Cor tried to sleep.
Cor was used to working late though so he just sat there thinking until it got really dark. He then fell asleep.

It was breakfast time and Shast- No… Cor was really hungry.
He got up and went to walk but Lune stopped him.
“Your feet are injured!” Lune huffed and picked up Cor. He brought him to the dining hall where Corin was waiting.
They talked through breakfast and Corin picked him up to take him to the garden.
Cor just wanted to walk people. One like is one step for Cor.
King Edmund walked into the garden, along with King Peter.
“Prince Cor…” Peter started. “You could have told us you truly weren’t Corin.”
Cor blinked and said, “I did. I told Kind Edmund that he had the wrong person.”
Peter stared and chuckled, “I mean someone with a brain.”
Edmund glared at him but his face softened when he looked at Cor.
“I am your Godfather you know.”
Cor stared, “What?”
Edmund chuckled and said,” Yes, I am your Godfather. Though, I didn’t get much time to spoil you.”
Cor blushed and looked away, “right…”
Lune walked out and put Cor in his lap once he sat down.
The three men and two boys talked until dinner when they talked some more, just with the Queens included.
Queen Susan revealed that she was Cor’s Godmother and Cor was very surprised.
He didn’t know that the peasant boy was going to be part of the royal family but as he gets tucked in by his father…
He couldn’t want it any other way.

Chapter 8: Corin and Cor bond
Chapter Text
Corin was sitting at the desk staring at his school work, hoping that he could quit it soon. There was a soft knock at the door, almost as if the one using it was…nervous?
…Cor.
Corin walks over to the door and opens it to see Cor…STANDING.
“Cor! Your feet!” He shrieked and picked up his little brother.
“S-sorry”
He then looks at Cor’s face and sees that he’s been crying, his eyes soften and he hugs him.
“Are you quite alright?” He asks with concern.
“A-Asrheeh is h-here” Cor said, tears welling up.
“Cor…who is Asrheeh?” Corin asks, enraged that someone made his little brother cry.
“…The one who raised me…the one who…” Cor choked on a sob.
Corin sat down and put Cor next to him, “what did he do?”
Corin was about ready to go and get his practice sword.
“Sold me”
Corin stared and said “What.”
“He sold me to…that man” Cor said, actively crying.
Corin growled and there was a knock at the door.
He turned and looked at the door and then back at Cor.
“That is King Edmund, do you want him to come in?”
Cor quickly wiped his tears and nodded, Corin didn’t have the heart to tell him that it didn’t help…
Edmund walked in after Corin yelled,
“Come in!”
“You asked me to help you do-“ Edmund pauses and looks at the scene of Cor and Corin sitting together.
Cor still looked like he had been crying.
“Are you ok, Little One?” Edmund said walking over to Cor.
Cor nodded with tears welling up once again.
He obviously wasn’t okay.
Edmund went and set him in his lap and looked over at Corin.
“What happened?” He mouthed as Cor curled tighter into his cape.
Corin didn’t know how to explain it, but soon after Aravis walked in and said,
“Cor! I got you a surprise!”
Cor looked up and she saw his crying face, “I’m sure it’ll cheer you up!”
Asrheeh walks in, “Hello…Shasta.”
Cor’s eyes widened and he hid in Edmund’s cape and was shaking.
Edmund stared and realized that this may have been why Cor was crying.
Aravis was confused, “wasn’t this one of you friends, Cor?”
“H-he sold m-me, he was w-who I r-ran from…”
Arabia’s eyes widened and she snapped at the man, “Get.Out.”
Edmund was comforting Cor and Corin stood up and walked over to the man.
“Get.Out! NOW”
Asrheeh smirked and said, “the boy isn’t worth anything. Why wouldn’t you give him to-“
Corin punched him and Aravis kicked him in the nuts.
He fell to the ground.
Lune walked into the scene and growled at the man after realizing what had happened,
“leave my kingdom, the hunters will come for you if your not gone by sundown”
Lune walks over to Cor and starts to comfort him.
Corin remembers something, “leave the donkey.”
Asrheeh stares and says, “What?”
“Leave the donkey, or the hunters will come for you anyways.”
He nods quickly and runs out of the room.
Aravis looks at him with a question in her eyes, “Cor would play with the donkey, he was his best friend”
Cor looked up, having the two kings comforting him had calmed him down and he said,
“Donkey is here?”
Aravis cooed at the adorable sight.
“And he is hopefully staying.” Corin said.
Cor smiled brightly and said, “Yay!” Bouncing back from the fright like only a child can.
Chapter 9: Edmund and Cor bond!
Chapter Text
Edmund and Cor get bonding time!
Cor was playing with Donkey in the barn and talking to Bree, he was alone which was rare as the king and prince was quite protective of him.
He liked it though, he loved the idea of having a family and it coming true was a dream coming true.
Donkey stepped on his foot on accident and he sobbed as he tried to walk.
Bree stared and said, “Cor! Unlock my stall, I will go and get someone.”
“But-“
“Now Cor.”
A couple tears rolled down Cor’s cheeks at he stumbled over to Bree’s stall.
He unlocked it and Bree ran to go and get someone.
He came back five minutes later with…King Edmund!!!
Oh god. Edmund was his godfather and he was VERY angry that he missed seven years of his life to spoil him.
“Cor? Are you okay?” Edmund said quickly running over to him.
“Donkey stepped on my foot” Cor said, he had stopped crying a bit ago.
Edmund's eyes widened and he picked up Cor and walked him to the med bay.
Lucy was there talking to some of the nurses, and didn’t notice them coming in sadly
Cor wiggled as Edmund held him on his lap and went to look at his foot.
He looked at it and checked if it was broken. Thankfully it wasn’t.
Edmund turned to him and said quietly, “why did Bree say that you didn’t want someone to help?”
Cor’s eyes widened and he said, “it wasn’t that serious! I could have handled it…”
He mumbled that last bit.
Edmund tucked Cor’s head under his chin, “hmmm…But you don’t have too anymore.”
They sat there, just being together.
