Porsche's head is buzzing, shooting guns in a closed metal container was not a good idea. They are running through the forest, he can see Kinn’s mouth moving, talking to him, but he can't hear him over the buzz in his ears.
They are still holding hands, he realizes dumbly, Kinn’s hands are warm and soft, he stares at their joined fingers instead of where he is walking; that was a bad idea as well, he trips but Kinn pulls him up without problem and they keep running.
He has no idea for how long they run, but suddenly Kinn stops, the forest is silent around them, he hear the rustling of the leaves of the trees and their breathing, he can feel the adrenaline rushing through his body, putting him in high alert, and keeping Kinn close to him, safe. He is not even sure why he cares so much for this idiot but he does, and he has to make sure they get out of here alive.
Kinn is looking at the starts, head tilted up, the stars look beatutiful but they have noting on Kinn and his stupid perfect jawline, he can see a bit better now, his eyes adjusting to the little light the moon and the stars provide, he noticees a small tread of blood runing down Kinn’s face, he reaches out with his free hand and cleans it up, the wet feeling of blood and sweat brings him back to reality, Kinn just turns to look at him.
“Are you hurt?” Porsche asks, trying not to sound worried and failing miserably.
Kinn looks confused and takes his hand to the spot where Porsche's was seconds ago.
“It's superficial, it must have happened during the fight, I wasn't hurt in the crash.”
“What about you?” Kinn asks, concerned in his voice, he gets closer and pats him around looking for injuries, he doubts he can see much in the dark but he lets him anyway. Why, he doesn't want to think too much about that.
“Do you think we lost them?” Porsche asks and as if on queue, a gunshot startles them, is far away but they have to keep moving. So they walk at a steady pace, up and up the mountain.
He is not sure for how long they walk, but they are both panting and tired and he is thirsty, drinking so much beer has left him dehydrated and the walk has not helped. They did the best they could covering their tracks. After a while they find a river and take the risk of drinking some water. The air is cool now, but once morning arrives they have to find some kind of cover from the sun.
They drink the water in silence and clean up as best as they can while still handcuffed.
“We need to find a place to stay the rest of the night” Porsche says “We should also try to find cover during the day, if we are too exposed they might find us.” he manages not to sound worried.
Kinn just nods and smiles, one of his nice smiles, not the calculated ones he usually gives to people, it does something weird to Porsche's gut, or heart or whatever.
They end up finding a good spot near a waterfall, the place is small but pretty well hidden in case their captors are around, and gives them a good view of the area, with multiple escape routes.
They sit on the ground and just stare ahead, both aware of their surroundings.
“I am sorry” Kinn says, for a second he is back at his house, with his friends and a more than accommodating Kinn, running errands for them.
“What the fuck where you thinking, going to my house alone?” He is angry, and scared for both of them, for Kinn. “You know there is a fucking target on your head and you go out alone, unbelivable.” He huffs.
“I just wanted to apologize, for… for everything.” He lowers his eyes and stares at the ground. Which is unlike him, but then again going out alone is not like him at all.
“Was it really that important? could it not wait a fucking week?”
“I didn't know for how long you would be away, and I could not exactly ask my father, I had to… I needed to see you.”
“And why is that, eh? to say sorry and then rub in my face that I can't even be your bodyguard anymore?”
“No porsche… no, just…” Kinn covers his head with his hands, pulling on Porsche’s handcuffed hand “Gosh sorry did I hurt you?” He says, finally looking at him, he looks younger, and scared.
“No Kinn, but can you just tell me the truth?, we have been dancing around this and I am just so tired, I don't understand you, I don't know what you want form me, and I don’t want to keep guesing, I am so fucking tired Kinn, please…” he fights the tears, but he knows his eyes are gossy, he is gratefull for the dark.
“You really do not know? I feel like everyone around us knows…”
“Know WHAT?” he asks, frustrated.
“That I like you” he saids it so softly and Porsche felt electricity running through his body. The look in Kinns eyes is so vulnerable he wants to reach out and hug him. So he does. It's weird with the handcuff between them but Kinn is so soft and he can feel the tears where Kinns head rests on shoulder, before he starts sobbing earnestly.
“It’s ok, it's ok…” and for the first time in a month he does believe that things are going to be ok.
