Work Text:
Afternoon tea at her parents' home became a Saturday tradition for the family. This Saturday was no different. Hermione relished sitting beside her mum and her husband, chatting, and discussing the latest news.
“You need to stop talking about your husband and son like that dear,” Hermione’s mum looked towards her, whilst sipping her tea.
“How do you mean?” Hermione looked at her mum then at her husband.
“Like they're a bunch of snakes.” Hermione coughed, nearly choking on her tea, at her mum’s admonition. Her husband patted her back soothingly, as her mum continued, “Oh Draco, I do apologise. Our girl can be quite colourful with her words. Although, after years of marriage, you might be used to it by now.”
“What?” Hermione gaped at her mum in disbelief. Unsure of what she said, she turned towards Draco. From the way the corners of his eyes creased and how he covered his lips, Hermione could tell he was suppressing his laughter.
“What you said about Draco and Scorpius. You just said they slither in robes.”
Draco cleared his throat.
“No mum, I said their Slytherin robes!” Hermione tried to explain, “Scorpius was recently selected to be in Slytherin. The same house that Draco was in.”
