It had been one week since Rachel moved out, Tommy had more or less gotten over it already, he even managed to make amends with his friends after the whole fiasco “It was you guys' fault in the end though…” Tommy said
“Hey, it wouldn’t have happened if you were more honest with us” Lil said
“I literally told you guys I was okay” Tommy looked at her a bit annoyed
“Consider it proof of how much we care about you” Kimi smiled at him
“Thanks, I guess” Tommy forced a smile
“So? Who is the next victim?” Phil said “Have your eyes on someone already?” Phil laughed
“Oh yeah, Sammy” Tommy grinned at him
Phil immediately got on top of the table with fire in his eyes and pointed at Tommy “Don’t you dare!”
Tommy expression changed from one of worry while the others at the table laughed at Phil “Sorry, Bad Joke” He smiled at Phil “You should try giving it a second chance though”
Phil got down from the table and sat back with his friends“That depends, are you going to try making us break up, again?” Phil turned to Lil raising his eyebrow
“I swore I would never do it again and I’m not going back on my promise” Lil said a bit embarrassed
“Sweet, I’m not going to rush things though, gonna give her all the time in the world” He crossed his arms smiling with his eyes closed in a confident expression “Don’t try dodging my question though” He turned to Tommy “Who is the next victim?”
“No one and stop calling them “victims”, I’m not really in the mood for dating or anything, there is a girl I like though” Tommy sighed
“Who is it?” Chuckie had just arrived with his food tray and sat with his friends, they all looked at Tommy with curiosity
“Private matter” Tommy looked at all of them with a serious expression
“But… just like that? You broke up with Rachel and you are already in love with another?” Chuckie looked at him a bit concerned for his friend
“More like I liked this one before Rachel” Tommy said while eating his lunch
“You liked a girl while dating Rachel?” Kimi looked at him now angry
“Here is the thing, this girl is impossible to date, I just gave up, Still like her though, even more so than Rachel” Tommy shrugged “It’s complicated, I know”
“Who is it!?” Everyone at the table was now on the edge of their seats in curiosity
“Private matter” Tommy said in a calm tone then got up with his now empty tray on the table “End of story” Tommy said then left the cafeteria
“Who could it be?” Phil looked at everyone at the table
“Who could be what?” Susie had just arrived with her tray along with Angelica
“Apparently Tommy has a girl he likes even more so than Rachel for the longest time, but he just about gave up on her a long time ago” Chuckie said
Both girls burst out laughing “You guys are really dense” Angelica said
“Hate to agree with Angelica but I expected more especially from you two” Susie looked at Kimi and Lil
“What do you mean?” Lil looked at them kind confused while Kimi blushed a bit worried
Susie and Angelica gave each other a knowing look after noticing Kimi blushing “We wouldn’t want to spoil the surprise” Angelica chuckled
“Sorry, That’s on you guys to find out, I have enough drama in my life just by being friends with Angelica” Susie said then left
“What is that supposed to mean?” Angelica followed Susie complaining to her
“Dil probably knows” Phil said
“W-Why are you guys so intrigued about it? It’s his life after all…” Kimi said now a bit nervous
“Well… We could help him, he helps me all the time, I mean everything suggests this is the girl of his life” Chuckie said
“Last time we tried to help him with this kind of stuff didn’t go so well…” Kimi laughed nervously
Chuckie and the rest of the gang got up and headed over to Dil who was eating using his feet to grab the utensils “Hey Dil” Lil waved at him
Dil kept eating then greeted them “What brings you over to Dil’s table my friends?”
“Who is the girl Tommy liked for the longest time? He told us there is one but didn’t say who she is” Phil said
Dil fixed his sitting posture and got serious all of a sudden then glanced at Kimi quickly “Don’t know, he told me about her once but never said who she was”
“Back to square one” Phil sighed
“If he didn’t tell Dil it must be really serious” Lil said
“That’s weird, usually he is not so secretive about this kind of stuff with us” Chuckie said then left the cafeteria with the rest of the gang
About an hour later Tommy was in class, Chuckie was sitting right next to him “So… Why is this girl so impossible to get? Is she really popular or something?” Chuckie whispered to Tommy
“Nah, she just has… strenuous circumstances…” He glanced at Chuckie a bit annoyed at the barrage of questions
A few tables in front of them Kimi was looking at the two boys talking with a worried look
“Chuckie is really trying to get an answer from Tommy, huh?” Lil said
“I will talk to Chuckie When we get home today, Tommy just broke up last week and now has to deal with this kind of stuff, must be harsh…” Kimi said
“What if he likes one of you two?” Phil whispered
Kimi froze up instantly
“Nahh… If he did we would have seen the signs a long time ago” Lil said
“E-Exactly… it doesn’t make any sense” Kimi laughed it off
After class it was PE time for the gang, Tommy and the rest of the boys were on one side of the court practicing basketball while the girls on the other side of the court practice volleyball
“It doesn’t make any sense, you are usually so chill about this kind of stuff” Phil said
“Thanks, can we change the subject now? I’m starting to think it wasn’t a good idea talking about this kind of stuff with you guys” Tommy said, he was very upset by that point with how things were going
“We just want to help” Chuckie said “She sounds important to you”
Tommy clicked his tongue and looked at his two friends in anger “It’s none of your business if she is or not!”
“Careful!” A boy in the back said
Tommy turned around only to see a basketball going in his direction and hitting him right in the face, Tommy fell to the ground, the girls stopped their game by the loud sound of Tommy falling
Lil who was playing and Kimi who was on the bench during the girls’ volleyball practice rushed to his side along with his friend
Tommy had a nosebleed, he was rubbing his nose “Ow… Sorry for yelling at you two… It really is none of your business though” Tommy sat up on the floor looking at Phil and Chuckie
Pangborn looked at Tommy closely “Finster” The vice-principal looked at Kimi “Since you are on the bench go take him to the infirmary so they can put some cotton in his nose, the rest of you back to practice!” Pangborn said
Tommy and Kimi left the court and went inside the school to the infirmary “Empty…” Kimi looked around, the infirmary was completely empty with no sign of the nurse or students “You mind if I put the cotton?” Kimi grabbed a package with cotton and sat with Tommy on a bed
“Ewww… Gross” Tommy laughed while Kimi cleaned the blood from his nose
“Now, Don’t be a baby” Kimi laughed as she pushed two cotton pieces inside his nose “Sorry about my brother…”
“Nah it’s okay, I’m at fault for saying more than I should” Tommy laughed
“By the Way, Tommy? Kimi blushed as she got up from the bed
“Yeah?” Tommy was touching his nose feeling it hurt a bit
“The girl you like… It’s me isn’t it?” Kimi said. A deep silence hung in the air after that for a few seconds which felt like hours to Kimi, Her heart was beating hard like never before
“Did Dil tell you?” Tommy sighed
“No but... When we asked him, he glanced quickly at me, Susie and Angelica were looking at me as well when we asked…” Kimi said
“I was hoping to take this one to the grave” Tommy blushed “Sorry about that, I know your situation doesn’t allow it…”
“And with my situation... you mean Chuckie right?” Kimi crossed her arms smiling at him
“Yeah… This is embarrassing… my best friend is my worst enemy as well” Tommy laughed
“He doesn’t need to be…” Kimi rolled her eyes smiling at Tommy
“What do you mean? You remember how he reacted on Halloween when he saw that thing you drew two years ago” Tommy said
“Two years? Sorry I meant to say two weeks at the time, don't know what went up with me” Kimi chuckled while blushing at him
“You like me as well?” Tommy smiled at her
Kimi approached Tommy and pulled him closer into a kiss
Tommy couldn’t believe this was happening, the boy was paralyzed for a couple of seconds before he realized what was happening and kissed the girl back without any doubt “We are in so much trouble…”
“Shut up…” Kimi smiled at him then kissed him back
Tommy and Kimi kept kissing for a long time, always alert for the sound of footsteps coming from outside“How long?” Tommy asked
“Good question…“ They were both sitting on the bed now “For about two years?” She said deep in thought
“I guess it’s about the same for me…” Tommy sighed “What now?”
“How is your nose?” Kimi asked looking slightly worried about him
“Could be better but I will survive” Tommy said
“Then let’s get back, the others may get suspicious if we take too long” Kimi got up she extended her hand to Tommy helping him get up, they returned to the gym shortly after that
Chuckie and Phil rushed to Tommy’s side “Tommy, Are you okay?” Chuckie said feeling guilty for being responsible
“All fine, the nurse said it was just a bruise inside the nose or something like that” Tommy said
“Look… Sorry about asking about the girl all the time, it really is none of my business” Chuckie said
“Yeah, So if you want to tell us who she is this may be your last chance” Phil said
Tommy frowned at him
“No? That’s fine” Phil smiled at him awkwardly
“Just one more question then, is it me?” Lil asked a bit embarrassed
“No” Tommy said
“Phew…” Lil whipped her forehead relieved “Would hate to reject you” Lil laughed
“Ow…” Tommy laughed while putting a hand on his chest, after school day was done Tommy went home and approached Dil who was upside down on the couch trying to change channels with his feet “Hello Dil…” Tommy had a wide smile on his face
“I didn’t say a word…” Dil gulped
“I know… Kimi told me” Tommy patted his younger brother on the head “You did good”
“That's what brothers are for… wait… does that mean… You and Kimi ar-” Before Dil could finish Tommy put his hand over his brother’s mouth and nodded to Dil
“Yup, in the infirmary, look I know it was hard enough keeping it a secret for these past two years but… could you help me hide our relationship from the others from time to time from now on?” Tommy looked at Dil a bit nervous for an answer
“Sounds like fun, I gotta have my space though… Three times a week, and you have to help with my homework on the days you request my services” Dil said in a jokingly refined tone
“Deal” Tommy shook hands with Dil and then went to his bedroom, he laid down on the bed smiling while looking at the ceiling “Yup, What a time to be alive” He sighed feeling happier than ever
Not far from there Kimi was doing the same in her room, staring at the ceiling with a lovestruck aura surrounding her, she sighed in pure bliss “Best day ever…” She said with a pleased tone in her voice
