Work Text:
You try to avert your gaze somewhere, particularly with the intention of avoiding one that belongs to his. You really didn’t expect lest his wine red eyes would feel hideous to yourself.
He began to walk closer, scraping the distance between you and him. With his arm folded ready to interrogate, he takes a seat beside you. Your mind is wondering what kind of statement you need to convince him. But before you are able to move your mouth an inch, he shuts you down with a straight forward utterance.
“Katheryne told me you’ve finished all the commission for today.”
You gulped, oof .
A cheeky grin painted on your lips as well awkward laughs escaped it. “Oh … well — I'm perfectly fine, Diluc!”
“The fever has gone, see?” You said cheerily then stood to give him a proof.
Alas, one thing didn't go as expected. Your footstep is unstable until you stumbled forward and fell into his grasp. “Uh … the floor is slippery —”
“You need not excuse things,” he stated.
Diluc took a deep exhalation before landing his hand to your forehead then squeezed both your hands and feets. Though you can’t feel what is going on, he felt the coldness lingered on your skin, especially on your hands and feets.
“You haven’t fully recovered. What if you passed out and no one will come to save you?”
You hummed, “Well, you’ve got a point. I do want to take a day off and rest all day on our bed but I just can’t help it.”
Magnanimous lady — a nickname Mondstadtians gave to you.
The Mondstadtians welcomed you with genuine broad arms. You’ve been helping them since the first beginning of your arrival from Liyue. From what you’ve heard, they have amiable demeanour towards many newcomers. And that is what you are grateful for choosing to permanently live in Mondstadt.
Until now, the habit of yours has never been replaced. Helping Mondstadtians is one of your daily activities. You vow never to fall sick or get into unlucky accidents.
Somehow one day — that is today, you’ve got a fever. You recalled a few hours ago but did not find something wrong that caused you to have a fever.
“I know you have a strong immune, but that doesn’t change the fact that one day you may fall ill.”
You stay quiet, while your mind wanders somewhere, you try to absorb all Diluc’s lectures. A light sigh escaped your mouth which was pretty vague to feel.
“— okay? You have to rest in order to get back to work.”
You nodded, then turned the direction to him, “Do you have any agenda tomorrow?”
“I don’t think so, why?”
“Let’s take a day off together!”
Diluc heaved a sigh with a small smile plastered on his face, “Sure, as long as it makes you happy, I'll do anything.”
He slowly crawls onto the bed and later on lies beside you. A pair of arms snuggling on your waist and hugging you tightly. Face reckoning your chest and buried it as he exhaled the sweet-scented of yours.
“Look at you, where did you learn that?” You giggled playfully with a hoarse voice.
“Be quiet and sleep.”
